LEVEL 0 IMMORTAL-Chapter 54: Level 1 Wisp
The next part of his "Current State" from the System was the most confusing for Elias.
- Void Spawn Incursion: Active (Children of Chaos containment failing) Countdown [23:45]
He knew what the void was, of course; it was the everlasting eternity that lay in the heavens above when you looked at the sky, and he also knew what a spawn was, as many beasts in the deserts were spawns of Greater Beasts or Rune Beasts.
So, putting these two terms together meant that somehow, the children of the Void, whose containment was failing, had something to do with him. This was one of the things he did not understand, but he was more concerned about the timer, which seemed to be frozen in place.
Elias closed his eyes, his mind rapidly making the connections he had missed at first. Even though it seemed like a long time, his perfect memory had calculated that he had only spent fifteen minutes from the moment he began his Ascension to a Wisp to entering the Fragment of Divinity.
The messy visions he had of the white void and his talk with the Commander had not taken as much time as he thought before he was thrown into this Fragment, and this told him one thing: whatever this Void incursion was, it would be descending in twenty-four hours, and the timer had stopped the moment he entered the Fragment of Divinity.
Elias wondered whether he should really be worried about it, but if the System had chosen to communicate with him personally, it might be pretty important and very dangerous.
There had been a feeling inside Elias’s body that he did not want to explore yet. Ever since he assimilated the Pillar of Sorrow, he could feel that if he wanted, he could leave this Fragment anytime.
Assimilating this pillar had given him a gateway into this Fragment, and even though he knew he could leave, he wanted to understand his abilities better before he faced the challenges out there... something about these Void Spawns rubbed him the wrong way, and further preparations would not hurt.
The next part of his Status screen made him blink in surprise,
- Seed Requirement: Seed 1/4
Investigating the weird cold spots in his mind that indicated the location for him to Seed his Lumina, he was surprised that, although they were a bit dim, he could still sense them.
Elias had thought it was possible to Seed only one Fragment, but apparently, he was wrong, and this fragment he was on contained multiple pieces of Divinity. Was this normal? He could not say, but it gave him a goal to pursue in the future when he returned to this place, aside from hunting whatever horrors were on this Fragment for their sweet vitality.
He would never say no to more Fragments of Divinity when he had seen the benefits of having just one. There were still clear dangers from devouring these pieces of fallen gods, but Elias knew that with enough time and preparation, his talent would make him a god-eating juggernaut.
Coming to the last entry on his Status, Elias smiled when he saw it.
- WARNING: Higher Authorities denied access – Origin untraceable.
Elias suspected that it was his Sovereign Fate that blocked the System from revealing his Status to higher authorities. He may not know much about Fate, and there was no description about the purpose of his Sovereign Fate, but when he saw something like this that clearly shielded him from outside manipulations, he could not help but think about his Sovereign Fate Title.
Finally, it was all done. He had gone through all the details of his Status and believed he had a clear view of where he stood. There were many things he did not understand, but at least he had a place to start his investigations.
With all of these finalized, there was one last thing for him to do, and that was to use his unallocated points so he could become a Level 1 Wisp. For Elias, the choice was really simple; he would be placing all twenty points in Esoteric.
He would have loved to bring his strength up to one hundred and see if he could gain a trait for this Attribute, but knowing that this Attribute would grow due to his Talent meant it would be a sheer waste not to push his Esoteric Attribute to a high enough level that it would begin to affect his Talent’s growth.
At this time, it was still unknown if there were any outside forces that could trigger his talent to boost the growth of Esoteric, and so before then, he would be placing every point he earned into this Attribute.
Extreme Adaptation was already a terrifying talent and would be the backbone of his power, and it was the wise choice to push it to grow more powerful.
Despite all of his crazy growth, he had not allocated any points by himself to any of his Attributes, and Elias did not need to struggle to find out how he could do it. The Miracle/Condemnation Orbs were eager to be used, and even while he was not in his Lumina Space, he could still hear their call.
His Will fiercely clamped down on them, and they went silent, "Esoteric," he whispered, shaping his words into intent and allowing them pour into the orbs. He was unsure if other Siphons had to do this, but he knew that others did not possess a hybrid affinity that was linked with the Divine.
Elias watched in fascination as the orbs shivered and they were suddenly dragged into the sky, leaving purple trails behind before they disappeared into the massive, cracked moon overhead. There were no visible changes in the moon, but he could tell that his Esoteric counter had grown.
"Hmm... Interesting," Elias whispered, as he wondered if his portions of his Lumina Space were linked to his Attributes.
Calling up his Status Screen, Elias was very satisfied with what he was seeing.

As if acknowledging his understanding of its description, the Status had presented itself in a stripped-down version, and Elias preferred it. He sighed when he looked at his growth and could not help but feel a sense of amazement.
Perhaps it was because he was already too strong that becoming a Level 1 Wisp meant almost nothing to him, even after sinking 20 points into a single Attribute.
"The tallest tree draws the wind," Elias spoke aloud, as he stretched, feeling his blood rushing through his body like a raging river, and then he expanded his senses, and he heard... breathing, that was ridiculously deep as if the owner had lungs the size of a building.
His green eyes began to glow, and the darkness that surrounded him was pierced through by his sight, and he saw that he was surrounded.
Bringing one of his arms up to his face, he observed his fingernails that were pearly white, two inches long, and sharpened at the tips. He connected to the Swarm inside him, and his nails turned purple before extending with a metallic shriek.
His entire finger also transformed, becoming thicker and metallic, as if his hand had been cut off and replaced by prosthetic hands with knives for fingers.
Still exerting more influence over the swarm, Elias’s head was soon covered by a simple helmet, and a purple collar was wrapped around his neck. He wanted to make more armor, but his Will had reached its limits, and so he stopped.
All of his preparations were complete, and Elias raised one clawed hand and beckoned to the creatures waiting in the darkness, saying only one word.
"Come!"
And from the darkness came laughter.
