Level up is hard? I can Directly Purchase infinite Levels!-Chapter 63: Blackwater Aegis, Training for All!
Raine shared his thoughts.
"I accept this appointment because I want to give it a try!"
"I want to have my squad members learn alien race combat techniques like Colossus Warform to see how effective it is. If it works, we might be able to expand this to a larger scale!"
The battle deep in the Bloodstained Mountains had shown Raine that in addition to the Obsidian Golem body, Colossus Warform had also provided a significant power boost.
Moreover, there were other combat techniques obtained from alien race geniuses during this mission. He planned to select a few that were most suitable for everyone and have them study them.
These techniques would undoubtedly serve as a way to enhance survival and combat power.
Raine didn’t know if anyone had tried this before, but now, he wanted to give it a shot.
Building upon this foundation, he also intended to combine the combat techniques he had learned into a more practical battle tactic suited for the squad.
Raine explained his ideas in detail.
Kyle and the others fell into deep thought.
Then, Kyle reminded, "Not everyone is suited to learning these advanced combat techniques. They require a high level of physical condition and willpower."
"Before learning them, you must have a solid physical foundation."
Old Gore, however, said, "We are on the battlefield, where we face life-or-death battles every day. Continuous high-intensity combat is the best training."
"Even if we can’t learn the advanced techniques like Raine, just mastering the basics will greatly enhance our strength and endurance. It’s beneficial, not harmful."
"You’re right," Kyle nodded, then asked Raine, "How do you plan to pick the people for your squad?"
A standard squad usually consisted of about fifty to one hundred people. Apart from their closest companions, there were still many vacancies.
Raine had been in the army for a short time and didn’t know the other soldiers well, so he was unsure of whom to choose.
"You’ve hit a roadblock, huh?"
At that moment, Black Falcon walked into the tent with an awkward smile on his face.
"Commander Black Falcon!"
Everyone saluted.
Black Falcon smiled at Raine, handing him a list. "I’ve already prepared it for you."
Raine took the list and saw that it contained information on nearly a hundred soldiers, including their age, rank, special skills, and more.
Most of them were between eighteen and thirty years old, with ranks ranging from Trainee to Formal, and all had some battle experience and a solid foundation.
Their talents and temperaments had also been preliminarily assessed. This was a carefully selected team, chosen by Black Falcon, worthy of cultivation.
"Thank you, Commander!"
Raine was very satisfied.
Black Falcon patted Raine on the shoulder and laughed heartily. "Squad Leader Raine, these people are yours from now on."
"Don’t worry, Commander. I’ll do my best to train them into the finest warriors!" Raine promised.
"If you encounter any difficulties, feel free to come to me—provided I’m still around."
Black Falcon then turned to Kyle and the others. "The squad is just getting started. You all should help him out as much as you can."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
The next day, all the selected team members gathered, and news of Raine’s promotion to squad leader spread across the Bloodhowl Highlands.
"Did you hear? Raine, that rookie, became a squad leader!"
"Is that for real? That’s amazing! How long has he even been in the army?"
"It’s a shame I wasn’t selected!"
Although everyone knew Raine was a rookie, no one felt he was unworthy of the position.
If someone who had killed so many alien race geniuses wasn’t qualified, who else would be?
On the contrary, many of the soldiers couldn’t help but feel envious and regretful.
It was clear to many that this was the foundation being laid for Raine to create his future core team.
Being selected for this squad not only meant more opportunities but also represented recognition and honor.
Outside the military tent where Raine stayed, Kyle, Matthew, Pros, and more than ninety new recruits stood in formation.
Raine called their names one by one to introduce himself.
Among these new recruits were even a few veterans who had been in the army for over a year.
However, none of them looked down on Raine because of his short time in service. On the contrary, everyone’s expression was excited and full of anticipation.
On the battlefield, strength mattered more than seniority.
Raine’s performance was enough to win their respect.
"Sir, deep in the mountains... is it true you killed all those alien race geniuses by yourself?"
A young recruit named Paul, with Formal rank and decent physical conditioning, couldn’t help but ask curiously.
Raine smiled, "Yes, but I almost lost my life in the process."
Gasps of disbelief spread through the crowd.
"I can’t even imagine..."
"How did you manage to do that?"
They whispered in awe.
Raine, however, grew serious and said, "The reason I was able to make it out with half my life intact was because of my strong physical fitness and vitality."
"So, the first requirement to join our squad is to build up physical strength!"
"From this battle, I’ve realized that a powerful body means stronger defenses, longer endurance, and more explosive strength."
"That’s why I plan to have everyone study the combat techniques I’ve obtained!"
Everyone looked at each other, confused.
Most of the people present were veterans, all of whom had basic military combat techniques issued by the army.
To learn better techniques, one usually needed to earn merits to exchange for them!
Or, one could gain powerful techniques by killing strong alien race enemies and taking their spoils, but that was very difficult to do. Otherwise, they wouldn’t just be ordinary soldiers.
But now Raine was directly announcing that he would give them access to the latest combat techniques, and possibly even the techniques used by alien race geniuses!
That was a completely different level of opportunity!
...
One day later, Raine’s injuries were fully healed.
He waved his hand and led his team into the outer regions of the Bloodstained Mountains.
Neither Hegros nor Aaron stopped him.
With Tom overseeing the highlands, and after Hegros returned, Iron Dragon Fortress had greater control over this area, ensuring their safety.
Entering the mountains, the squad did not venture into the dangerous zones but instead began hunting low-level alien beasts in the relatively safe outer regions.
The goal was to collect enough alien beast blood for the squad members to practice the secret technique.
This was a technique Raine had acquired from a Blackwater Clan genius—Blackwater Aegis!
It was a high-level secret technique. While it wasn’t on the same level as Obsidian Golem Codex or Thunder Arbiter (which were bloodline arts), it still offered a considerable physical strength enhancement!
After mastering it, the practitioner’s skin could become as hard as armor, and at the highest level, its strength could rival that of the Blackwater Sacred Turtle’s shell!
Using the blood of alien races and alien beasts for refining and improvement was the versatility of this technique.
As long as one could endure the violent Nex energy, they could continuously strengthen their body!
Raine threw several anomalous flora into a bucket, which had the effect of stimulating blood energy, allowing the squad members to use a mixture of alien beast blood for their first body refinement and advancement.
Kyle, Gore, and the others had already mastered the basic version of Blackwater Aegis.
Especially Kyle, who had plenty of experience in physical training. With him guiding the others, Raine didn’t have to worry too much.
Most of the new recruits had already awakened some anomalous abilities, so they had a higher starting point than Raine did when he first began!
This was a good start, and everything was progressing just as Raine had planned!
