Life In The Limelight : I Married A Gamer Girl-Chapter 37: What... Are You Wearing
Chapter 37 - What... Are You Wearing
The late afternoon sunlight streamed through the windows, casting a warm glow over the cozy living room. Kazuma sat at the dining table, a steaming cup of tea beside him as he reviewed notes for Spirit Walker. His light blue eyes scanned the pages intently, his concentration unwavering. It was shaping up to be a productive day, but little did he know, Masako had other plans.

From down the hallway, Masako emerged, her golden eyes sparkling with mischief. She was dressed in one of Kazuma's oversized shirts, the fabric draping loosely over her frame and ending just below her hips. Her dark brown hair fell naturally around her shoulders, and her bare legs seemed to go on forever as she casually strolled into the room. It was clear she wasn't wearing anything else beneath the shirt.
"Dear," she called out, her tone light and teasing. "What are you working on so seriously?"
Kazuma glanced up, his light blue eyes widening slightly as he took in the sight of her. His cheeks immediately flushed, and he quickly averted his gaze, pretending to focus on his notes. "Masako, what are you wearing?" he asked, his voice slightly strained.
Masako grinned, walking over to him and leaning casually against the edge of the table. "What? It's just your shirt," she said, running her hands down the soft fabric. "It's comfy. Don't you think I look good in it?"
Kazuma cleared his throat, trying his best to focus on the notes in front of him. "You know exactly what you're doing," he muttered, his cheeks still tinged with pink.
Masako laughed softly, her golden eyes dancing with amusement. "Maybe I do," she admitted, leaning closer to him. "But can you blame me? It's so cozy—and it smells like you."
Kazuma's ears turned red as he glanced up at her. "You're impossible sometimes," he said, though his voice held no real irritation.
Masako placed a hand on her hip, tilting her head playfully. "And yet, here you are, blushing like a schoolboy. Are you sure you're paying attention to your notes, dear?"
Kazuma groaned, setting the papers down and rubbing the bridge of his nose. "Masako, I'm trying to get work done here."
"And I'm just trying to be comfy," she replied innocently, twirling a strand of her hair around her finger. "You're the one making it weird, dear."
Kazuma gave her a pointed look. "You're walking around the house practically naked, and you think I'm the one making it weird?"
Masako smirked, stepping behind him and wrapping her arms loosely around his shoulders. She leaned in close, her voice dropping to a whisper. "I think you like it, though."
Kazuma sighed, though a small smile tugged at his lips. "You're impossible," he muttered again, shaking his head.
Masako laughed, pressing a quick kiss to his cheek before straightening up. "Alright, alright," she said, walking over to the couch and flopping onto it, her legs curling up beneath her. "I'll let you focus—for now."
Kazuma watched her out of the corner of his eye, his light blue eyes lingering just a moment too long before he forced himself to turn back to his notes. No matter how much she teased him, he couldn't deny that Masako always knew how to brighten his day.
As the afternoon stretched on, Masako continued to lounge around the house, occasionally stealing glances at Kazuma and making cheeky comments whenever he seemed too focused. Her playful nature and effortless charm made the day feel lighter, and even though Kazuma tried to act annoyed, he couldn't hide the soft smile that lingered on his face.
By the time evening rolled around, Kazuma finally gave in. Setting his notes aside, he walked over to the couch where Masako was sprawled out, her golden eyes lighting up as he approached.
"Done with work already?" she teased, sitting up slightly.
Kazuma sighed, sitting beside her and pulling her into his lap. "I figured I might as well join you since you're determined to distract me anyway."
Masako grinned, wrapping her arms around his neck. "See? I knew you couldn't resist me."
"How could I?" Kazuma replied, his light blue eyes softening as he leaned in to kiss her forehead. "You make it impossible to focus, but somehow, I don't mind."
Masako laughed, snuggling against him. "You're welcome, dear. Now, let's just relax for the rest of the night. No more work—just us."
Kazuma nodded, holding her close as the warmth of her embrace melted away the stress of the day. No matter how chaotic things got, moments like these reminded him of just how much he cherished their life together.
