Life Of A Nobody - as a Villain-Chapter 459 : All hell breaks loose -1
In the realm of night where the concept of light was non-existent, Aelthar's shining soul alone became the beacon which attracted all attacks.
Before the god could cope with his vision and the siphoning of his soul, a ray of light flashed in front of him, like a twinkling star, Aelthar raised his spear to block the blade, but when the collision sounded, came along a grunt of pain, as Aelthar felt a dagger pierce his skin.
The golden ichor flooded the abyssal 'floor' before disappearing in darkness forever as gluttony sucked it all.
Suddenly the god felt a gust of wind and swung his spear on the back. Only to feel fear once more as various scythes landed on his back.
Slashing pieces of his soul away.
(The reapers.) Aelthar thought.
And right he was.
In the cover of darkness, floated the skeletal figures, wrapped in the cloak of shadows. Their scythes slashing the air and slicing pieces of the god's souls with every swing.
They attacked Aelthar from every direction. Surrounding him.
Trapping him.
And slowly _ hunting him.
For the next few seconds, only sounds of collision kept coming as Aelthar's spear kept swinging at impossible speeds in circles. Forming a radiant cyclone, which tore through the reapers in an endless, merciless dance.
Yet despite his unmatched talent with spear, the god found himself in passive, as he felt his speed slowly slipping away.
He looked down and found a patch of blue, spreading outwards from the place where Rio stabbed him.
Poison flooded his veins, flowing along the lanes of light _ eroding him from inside. Making the job for cuts and curses caused through scythes easy.
Aelthar clenched his teeth, pushing through the dulling pain as a reaper's scythe ripped into his back. His soul burned as the blade carved into his very existence.
"Enough."
The god shouted, and as the light of his body dimmed and started gathering in his foot, which he raised and then crashed it down.
The heavy stomp sent a blast of light which burned all reapers. Making them howl in pain and screech in agony, before vanishing them back into the hell that birthed them.
Leaving behind only Rio.
The god twisted his spear and slapped it back in a swift moment. Sending Rio skidding backwards.
Aelthar's body twisted, pivoting on his heel with effortless precision. His spear spun in his grip before he lashed out with pure force, carving a blinding arc of holy radiance through the night.
The strike connected.
Or it should have.
Instead, Rio was already gone.
A trail of silver light shimmered where he had been—his afterimage hanging in the air like a dying comet before disappearing again.
Aelthar had no time to process it, as suddenly a burning pain ripped through his side.
Rio appeared behind him, his sword embedding deep into the god's back. The blade burned with astral radiance, its cutting edges twinkling in light flooding the god's innards, like living beasts.
"Star Raze." Rio muttered as a flash of light blinded him.
Causing a white-hot explosion of light.
Aelthar barely managed to slither away before the entire area behind him detonated, sending radiant shockwaves rippling across the battlefield.
He tumbled mid-air, his body twisting unnaturally as he landed on one knee, his remaining hand gripping his spear tighter.
But there was no time to waste.
As Rio moved out, the hungry shadow was upon him next.
The twisted, writhing darkness lunged like a beast, its form shifting and distorting. Its head was still missing—a gaping wound left by Aelthar's divine spear—but it didn't matter. The meta-physical thing existed only to consume.
It slammed into Aelthar, its formless mass wrapping around him like an iron coffin.
The god's body burned as the blessing of gluttony attempted to rip away his divine essence, eager to devour his very soul.
The energy far beyond what it could handle, and the backlash of it did indeed cause Rio to bleed through his mouth, yet the pain didn't matter.
Knowing the risks, Aelthar didn't hesitate.
"Divine Break." He muttered in his heart.
As his body erupted with searing white fire, divine fog crystallizing into solid blades that burst outward, impaling the shadow from within.
The creature let out a horrid screech as its form fractured, but even then, it did not stop.
Even as it was torn apart, it clawed for more.
And that was when Rio struck again.
"Shooting star."
Aelthar barely looked up before a blazing arc of silver streaked down. Like a falling star, leaving twinkling stardust in the air, aiming to cleave him in two.
Clankkkkkk
Metal met energy as the sword collided against spear once more. The impact sending shockwaves that shook the darkness for seconds before it took back it's form again.
Aelthar gritted his teeth. As even with one arm, even as his soul burned from exhaustion, he would rather die than lose to this mortal.
As Rio's feet touched the ground, he was surrounded by fog which whipped his body from every direction. Making it harder for even breath.
Aelthar disappeared from his place, and teleported right behind Rio. Slamming his spear vertically on the mortal's spine.
A white flame or a fog of energy spread across Rio's back. Passing right through his barriers and burning his flesh.
"Arghhh" Rio roared in pain before shifting places with his shadow, getting some space.
While his shadow used this sudden chance to bite back at the spear's head.
Aelthar watched as the silvery luster of energy radiating through his spear, dimmed immediately, and lunged back. Kicking the shadow with his legs. Who despite the push, refused to let go of the food stuck in it's mouth.
Krrrr
With a crackling sound, finally the sacred spear gave way and broke in two pieces.
It's head still bitten in the gluttonous figure, while the broken handle, or the staff, remaining in Aelthar's hands.
Rio's figure passed right through his shadow, instantly appearing face to face with the god.
Their eyes locked with each other for a second. Both seeing the madness in the other's eyes.
Dhummmmm
After the short collision, they both staggered back.
They looked at each other and smiled in satisfaction, before they both felt pain coursing through their brains and spewed out blood while falling to their knees.
Rio's sword was stuck in the god's abdomen, and Aelthar's broken staff ripped through Rio's stomach.
..
"You're good, Aelthar." Finally Rio spoke, pulling the piece of spear from his body and throwing it onto the ground.
"Better than I expected." He said, ignoring the pain, as he pressed his fingers over his cut and then brought it to his lips to taste the blood.
"You can indeed outfight me. But you'll never outlast me."

As his words finished, a white light flashed across Rio's entire body, healing all his injuries and returning him back to his peak condition almost instantly.
While the god still stood there, broken, battered, and wounded.
Another sword appeared in Rio's hands and he charged back at the god once more.
Aelthar raised a barrier to block his attack, but with his energy constantly being wasted to stop the curses and poisons, _ his newer defense got ripped instantly like a thin sheet of paper.
Aelthar tried to move away, to teleport out, but his luck wasn't with him anymore.
And a deep gash tore through his chest.
He barely registered the pain before Rio spun his body—his foot slamming into Aelthar's ribs with inhuman force, sending the god flying backward.
As the god lost balance, the whip wrapped in flames of hell tied around his feet. It's thorns etching deep within his bones and ripping his skin.
Rio dragged the god through the floor, and then started slashing his sword like a demon.
His actions filled with an unhinged madness, making him look like a crazy butcher who just wanted to chop the pig in front of him to pieces.
But the god _ wasn't so easily slayed.
He had one more trump card.
A final move, he's been saving as it went against all rules. Something which if he pulled could expose his soul's survival.
Something which could alarm all gods and even the world will of Arcadia, making all his plans for leaving a legacy futile__ yet he had no other choice.
The mortal's tricks, his spells, skills, items _ everything had proved that he wouldn't survive this battle otherwise.
And since his death was sure either way, why not purge the planet of this devil first.
(I've faced the god's before, I can face them again. I'll just have to pull some favors and go into a long sleep once more.) Aelthar thought, his brain already pulling names he could call for help, or demons he could strike a deal with.
(Zeus has Verdandi so he must know what's happening here, or that thousand eyed Indra, or maybe the forgotten original Apollo, or the dog Anubis _ _ _ )
"Die bitch."
The god's thoughts were interrupted by Rio's arrogant words, as a sword came straight for his head.
But right before the starry slash could swipe his neck, Aelthar's body started glowing in it's brightest form.
Like a lamp which was just about to go out had suddenly gained new life.
This light pushed the darkness back, and blasted Rio's body, until it collapsed against the barrier of his dark world and slid back down.
'Fuck, he's not gonna self explode, is he?' Rio couldn't help but ask in his mind, as he panted heavily and downed another potion to heal his burning body.
Yet found them ineffective.
Even though it put out the fire outside, he felt like an energy was raging inside his body, burning his very core.
The pain was almost driving him insane. Reminding him of the horrid experience he had when the dungeon collapsed over his body.
All the while the red eyed entity in his mind just saw his suffering with a smirk. Showing no intention to come forward or lend a hand.
[Host…he's going pro.] System said in his mind, while feeling the immense pressure oozing from the god. _ yet Rio couldn't hear a thing, as he stayed on his knees, holding his head between his arms, trying hard to suppress the pain destroying his body.
In front of him floated the GOD. In his true, pure, and realest form possible.
Aelthar finally showed his true form, using his remaining divinity to announce his arrival back into Arcadia.
Immediately as if a lamp got turned on into the otherwise dark city, and every other neighbour started poking their heads out and started looking at it.
Same scenario, every god trapped in Arcadia, living and wandering through their realms, all stopped their actions and looked in a certain direction. Their eyes piercing all barriers, all magic _ and focusing on the figure shrouded in light.
All of them, thinking the same two things - first, who broke the thousand year old rules? And second, things are finally going to be interesting.

Author note - If you have any doubts, you can ask me here.
Nah, forget it, I'll just explain some possible questions without u asking anyway.
—Aelthar till now was still playing it safe, keeping his divinity hidden so no other gods could sense his aura. But he has no calms now.
—I've introduced Rio's star sword technique before during the library skill selection chapters, but I'll properly write it in some auxiliary chapter along with his other mainly used skills or spells for easy access.
—For the first time in a thousand years, a true god had returned whole on the mortal planes. Of course, things are gonna be fire🔥 .

Hmm now it's my turn to ask.
What do u think is gonna happen next? What will be the god's reactions and would they interfere? Or will the world will come forward to punish it's offender?
Was it fate that all the options Aelthar assumed for his helpers were either enemies Rio already made, or will make in the future? Or was that just a coincidence?
What will be reaction of Artemis and Agnus, when they learn their dear son and daughter has now started bullying gods on their school holidays?
Will our mc get more training with his strong father, or a solid spanking from his scary mother?
Yesterday we saw Katherine coming here? Where is she? Is she gonna come at the last second, or when the fight is already over?
Will Rio also get drugged during the fight and have to have sex to survive?
(Cough cough ignore this one. It seems the dao of mtl is affecting me.)

Also does the beginning para reminds u of something? Cause it should.
Those lines are inspired by something else written earlier in this novel, which I think was one of my finest dialogue.
(U know, like one of those lines which just stays with u.)
