Limitless The Strongest Revenant-Chapter 1029: Our penance [2/2]
'Eh?'
'Your strength. It's not enough. You can't kill me. You can't hurt me. You are too weak. Even if you lose your mind, I will just tie you up and fuck you till you get your marbles back,' I answered.
Jo threw her head back, laughing, "Pfft! Darling, you're crazy! Hahaha! I am a Specter, you know! I'm crazy strong!"
Unable to stay silent, Jo ended up laughing out loud. Even with her eyes wet from tears, she laughed at my words like they were the greatest joke. Pleased that she was no longer sad, I gave her a soft peck on the lips.
"Jo. You are my {Kindred}. The future mother of my children. I love Vela, but you are not her. She can never replace you. No matter what the world sees, you are you. I told you before, right? There is no question in the world where the answer is for you to leave me."
"I know that, but…"
"And I only said it to Robyn, but it goes for all of you. Whatever your sins, I will carry them with you. Even if you're crazy, even if you become this world's biggest villain, I will protect you. That will be the case today and forevermore."
"Hick! R-Really?" Jo asked as she began to sniffle.
I reached for her hands and intertwined our fingers, "Really. Besides, how are you any crazier than me? You're like a complete newb at being crazy at level 1. I am near the top at level 10."
"What? That's too much, Darling! I must be at least a level 5!" Jo retorted as she wiped her tears.
Hearing her adorable complaints, I argued. "Hehe, then have you even brawled with a Revenant?"
"Uhm…no?"
"Then have you even brawled with two Specters at once?"
"Darling, this is unfair!" Jo complained with a pout.
"Yes or no?"
"Noooo."
"Then have you intentionally decided to close Hellsgate?"
"…"
"See? I'm way crazier than you. You see yourself as crazy and cruel, but that is because you compare yourself to humans, Jo. And even among them, there are those who are worse than you."
"But…Darling…"
"Hush, this is not a contest. We all make our own choices in life. Each and every one of your choices was either to protect Jas or me. You hardly went on vengeful killing sprees for the sake of blood lust. Do you regret any of your actions?"
"Well, no…but Darling…"
"If given the chance, will you make the same decision again?" I asked.
"Yes," Jo nodded. "But what about my karma? You know the good I do in the world?"
Hearing her absurd worry, I pulled her in close and kissed her luscious lips. They tasted sweeter than honey. And were hot like a small flame.
"Then all the better. We intend to save this entire world. There can be no higher karma than that. For each person we kill, we will save a hundred. Closing Hellsgate will be difficult. It will hurt; we will suffer. But that will be our penance.
"Rather than a burden, it will be how we earn our happily ever after. And when we finally succeed. By the time I am done no one will remember the atrocities we committed. Only the salvation and peace after we win. This will be our future."
I kissed Jo again. Her eyes quivered with emotion as she listened intently to my prophecy. I was a natural pessimist. But since falling in love, I had to become an optimist. Because, frankly, without such dreams, it was hard to continue moving forward.
"I will make sure the world knows it owes its freedom to an incredible woman, Josephine Benelli-Smith. The woman I proudly call my {Kindred} and love with all my heart. Someone who is brave, strong, and wonderful. Someone good."
"Darling…"
Jo stretched out her arms and wrapped them around my neck. She pulled me closer as she kissed me affectionately.
"Darling, have I told you how amazing you are? All my worries. All my fears. All my hesitation. They all melt away when I hear your words and vision of our future. Can I really hope for something like that? After all I have done?"
Smiling, I attacked her lips once again.
"Absolutely. Get used to it. So long as I am around, I will always make you happy. That is the only job I want to fulfill. Not rule the world, nor save it. The world can go fuck itself for all I care."
"Hehehe. Darling is too silly. But somehow, I feel better now. Darling is really the best! I love you, Darling! LOVE LOVE LOVE!"
"Haha, I love you too, Jo," I replied.
By that point, the lights suddenly turned on. And the other women around me were all awake and had unhappy expressions.
"Beloved, I feel left out. Pamper me too."
"You two aren't even trying to be considerate to those trying to rest! Dearest! That speech was amazing! Only you didn't make it for me! You're incorrigible!"
"Get Stuffed, Possum! You only need the nutjob now? Is that it?"
"This fucking nutjob was practically gloating from all the attention she was getting. Mr. Code! This is unjust treatment! What you did for Jo, do it for me too!"
"Anata, you cannot expect us not to demand appropriate compensation for not interrupting, right? I want to hear you serenade me too. I feel like we've earned it."
"I am so glad you feel better, Jo. I told you Husband will have an answer. Husband, thank you for loving my sister. I am so glad we both belong to you."
"HEHEHE! I know, right? Being Darling's woman is the best! It should be like the highest reward for a girl in the universe! I'm so happy too, Jas! Everything that we suffered through was worth it!"
Hearing the words of my girls, I smiled. While it felt hard to manage seven relationships all at once, I gave it my all. It wasn't work for me as I loved each one of my girls immensely.
None of us went back to rest. The girls all just took turns listening to me praise and adore them. They even began scoring parts of my words. Lilly began asking me for poems while Jas wanted songs. Even Aki wanted a haiku.
Things got really weird when Bella wanted me to dance for her. Robyn and Liv didn't make any weird requests, but they asked to be pampered and spoiled like children.
If earlier, we just sought each other to placate our primal desires. We now just recharged our happiness batteries by just spending time with each other. Of course, as we were all naked, we ended up making love all over the place repeatedly without stopping.
Until finally, Exa sent us a message.
[My lord and ladies, it is time.]
And so we all rose up and prepared. It was normal for warriors to procreate before every major battle. It was human instinct. Considering what my family was about to do, I doubt anyone could blame us.
The last twenty-four hours were spent in love.
Now the next twenty-four hours will be spent in war.
"My {Kindred}, shall we make history?" I asked.
"YES!"x7
It was kind of nostalgic; I remember saying the same thing back during the enlistment. We didn't have Lilly back then, but the odds were just as stacked against us.
'Quite frankly, I doubt they will get higher any time soon. After this, I will move to Australia, Asia, and then Antarctica. It's bound to be difficult all the time,' I mused.
With that, we took a {Portal} back to the meeting room. The time for words was over. It was time to flip the entire board, Hell's Eden style.
