Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 192: Shameless
Silas Sutton’s words were utterly confrontational.
Kenneth Grant looked at him, his face dark and grim.
It was obvious that Kenneth Grant was genuinely enraged at this moment.
But because of Silas Sutton’s status, Kenneth Grant dared not express his anger.
After a moment, Kenneth Grant sneered, "Would you dare to marry her?"
Silas Sutton instantly laughed, a charming curve appearing on his thin lips, "Anytime."
Kenneth Grant was startled, rendered speechless by Silas Sutton’s retort.
He never expected Stella Grant and Silas Sutton to be genuinely in a romantic relationship.
He stared fixedly at Silas Sutton’s face, trying to discover any hint of truth.
Seeing Kenneth Grant staring at him like that, Silas Sutton’s smile faded, and he asked sinisterly, "Why do you think Stella is just my lover? Do you think she’s not worthy of openly dating someone?"
Kenneth Grant, "Don’t talk nonsense."
Silas Sutton sneered coldly, "Or do you know that the mess you left when you ran away years ago suffocates her, making it impossible for her to date and marry like a normal girl?"
Kenneth Grant, infuriated with shame, "I did not!!"
Silas Sutton, "Didn’t you? Why are you panicking then?"
Kenneth Grant, "..."
It had to be said, Silas Sutton’s words all pierced Kenneth Grant’s heart.
He indeed thought so.
He believed Stella Grant was a lover to Silas Sutton to settle debts, each getting what they needed.
Never had he expected...
With Silas Sutton’s words falling, the room fell into unprecedented silence.
So quiet that even the sound of breathing was almost still.
After a while, Lynn Adler’s cool voice broke the deadlock, "Stella, go check if Mrs. Dunn has borrowed a wheelchair."
Stella Grant replied, "Okay."
Stella finished speaking and was about to head out.
Just as she reached the doorway, Ms. Dunn came in pushing the borrowed wheelchair, "Miss Grant, are you going out?"
Stella forced a smile, "No."
Having worked as a caregiver for many years, Ms. Dunn’s greatest strength is her perceptiveness; she noticed the situation in the room was off.
Without further words to Stella, Ms. Dunn pushed the wheelchair inside.
After reaching Lynn Adler’s bedside, she secured the wheelchair and then said, "Didn’t the doctor tell you? You shouldn’t get upset because of your condition."
Lynn Adler stubbornly replied, "I’m not upset."
Ms. Dunn feigned displeasure, "If you continue like this, I won’t care for you even if you give me a raise next month."
Lynn Adler knew Ms. Dunn was trying to scare her and couldn’t help but smile, "Alright, alright, you’re so long-winded."
Ms. Dunn had been displeased with Kenneth Grant ever since he entered.
She always felt he looked heartless.
But knowing Kenneth Grant is Stella’s biological father, she said nothing.
As Lynn Adler’s words ended, Ms. Dunn asked her, "Where are you going in the wheelchair? Do you need me to accompany you?"
Facing Ms. Dunn’s question, Lynn Adler didn’t hide it, "To the Civil Affairs Bureau."
And then added, "For a divorce."
Upon hearing Lynn Adler wanted a divorce, Ms. Dunn’s eyes lit up.
She always thought this man was unreliable.
Moreover, Lynn Adler had been hospitalized for so long, what kind of husband wouldn’t accompany her to the hospital?
No matter how busy work is, there’s always time after work, surely?
Ms. Dunn didn’t know about Lynn Adler and Kenneth Grant’s previous disputes; she just felt this man was irresponsible, and divorce was for the best, "The Civil Affairs Bureau isn’t far, I’ll accompany you, otherwise, Miss Grant won’t know how to take care of you."
Lynn Adler didn’t refuse, "Alright."
Seeing that everyone in the room seemed eager for the divorce, Kenneth Grant’s face became increasingly unpleasant.
Lynn Adler noticed his expression, directly averting her gaze as if she didn’t see it, and turned to Stella Grant, saying, "Stella, help Mrs. Dunn assist me onto the wheelchair."
Stella Grant, "Okay."
As Stella said this and prepared to step forward, Silas Sutton was already ahead of her, moving to Lynn Adler, "Auntie, let me."
Lynn Adler looked up at him, eyes smiling, "Sutton, thank you."
Silas Sutton, "It’s my duty."
Half an hour later, they arrived at the Civil Affairs Bureau.
Once inside the hall, Kenneth Grant faced Lynn Adler with a stern expression, "Consider carefully, once this marriage is ended..."
Before Kenneth Grant could finish, Lynn Adler coldly said, "Let’s go, it’s our turn."
The divorce procedure went smoothly, except for a hiccup when signing.
Kenneth Grant didn’t want to sign.
Lynn Adler turned her head to look at him, her eyes obviously angry.
Kenneth Grant’s hand holding the pen stayed motionless, "Lynn, we’ve been husband and wife for so many years, can you really bear this?"
Lynn Adler was shaking with anger at his words.
Old affection?
Only now did he think of old affection?
Just as Lynn Adler was about to explode, Silas Sutton’s cold, deep voice echoed behind her, "Orion."
