Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 206: Worse Than Death
This man has a deep mind.
This is Stella Grant’s first impression of Miles Sutton.
Miles Sutton finished speaking, and the anger on Silas Sutton’s face faded in a second. His thin lips curved slightly, seemingly friendly, but the look in his eyes was chilling, "Indeed, it’s been a while. How’s your health lately, Third Brother?"
Silas Sutton’s words served as a rhetorical question.
He knew well that Miles Sutton had recently fallen ill and ended up in the emergency room, nearly losing his life.
Even Mr. Sutton was alarmed, he personally went to the hospital to stay for two days.
Miles Sutton continued to cough, it’s hard to tell if he was being stubborn or dismissive, "It’s okay."
Silas Sutton asked, "Third Brother, do you have business in Brynnfield?"
Miles Sutton glanced at Stella Grant beside Silas Sutton. Not answering his question, he nodded and said, "Girlfriend?"
Silas Sutton remained expressionless, "Fiancée."
Miles Sutton heard this and his eyes turned meaningful, "Oh? Fiancée?"
Silas Sutton chuckled lightly, reached out to hook Stella Grant’s waist, and said in a deep voice, "Stella, call him Third Brother."
They had already gone over this before they came, Stella Grant’s acting was convincing, without a trace of uncertainty, "Third Brother."
Miles Sutton smiled back, "Miss Grant looks familiar."
Stella Grant smiled gracefully, "I have a common face."
Miles Sutton, "Maybe I remembered wrong."
After Miles Sutton finished, a sudden scream echoed from the main villa building.
The scream was piercing, sending chills down the spine.
Stella Grant thought it was Kenneth Grant, her body slightly stiffened.
Feeling her unease, Silas Sutton’s hand around her waist tightened, reassuringly squeezing.
Stella Grant was tense inside but showed no sign of it on her face.
Miles Sutton observed her quietly, surprised at her composure, he smiled while adjusting the handkerchief in his hand and said, "Someone among the servants was thoughtless and made a mistake, just a minor punishment."
After saying this, Miles Sutton looked at Stella Grant, "Didn’t scare you, Miss Grant?"
Stella Grant smiled, "I was never promising as a child, but my courage is big."
Miles Sutton chuckled, "Courage is good, in the Sutton Family, having no courage means living short."
After speaking, Miles Sutton turned to step forward, talking to Silas Sutton while walking, returning to the original topic, "Recently Veridia has been too hot, so I came to Brynnfield to escape the heat."
Silas Sutton followed with a leisurely pace, tapping lightly on Stella Grant’s slender waist, lazily said, "Third Brother always enjoys life."
Miles Sutton, "Not in good health, I can’t do much to help Grandpa at home."
Silas Sutton replied noncommittally, "Indeed."
Silas Sutton’s "indeed" hit the nail on the head, Miles Sutton’s smile instantly faded.
Walking behind, Silas Sutton saw the deliberately straightened spine, the corner of his mouth lifted in mockery, "Heard from Grandpa that Eldest Brother had nightmares again the other night?"
Miles Sutton, "..."
Silas Sutton sneered, "So many deities invited, yet unable to calm the demons within?"
Miles Sutton, "..."
Silas Sutton’s tone was casual, but each sentence hit Miles Sutton’s weak spot.
Stella Grant listened, her lips involuntarily curled slightly.
His sharp tongue was indeed venomous.
As the three were about to enter the living room, Miles Sutton suddenly stopped, turned to look at Silas Sutton, and with a gentle smile said, "Yes, Eldest Brother indeed had frequent nightmares a few days ago, but people often feel that a bad life is better than a good death, don’t you think?"
After Miles Sutton’s words, Silas Sutton’s long eyes instantly squinted.
The next second, Stella Grant countered by clasping the hand Silas Sutton had around her waist, responding to Miles Sutton with a faint smile, "That’s hard to say, mostly depending on one’s perspective on ’life’, isn’t there another saying? Called living is worse than death."
