Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 215: Defending Her Husband
It’s Mr. Sutton.
Hearing this voice, Stella Grant felt a jolt in her heart.
She couldn’t pinpoint the reason, but she inexplicably felt a wave of anxiety for Silas Sutton.
A few minutes later, Stella Grant couldn’t resist, stood up, and went downstairs. As she reached the stairway, she saw a crowd of people gathered below.
Mr. Sutton was seated on the sofa, a lavishly dressed woman stood in the middle of the living room, seemingly crying her heart out but her makeup was intact, maintaining the full demeanor of a wealthy lady.
As for Silas Sutton, he was already kneeling in the middle of the living room.
The buttons of his white shirt were completely undone down to his waist, exposing his athletic physique.
Behind him stood two bodyguards holding two-centimeter-wide leather whips, expressionless, clearly not their first time doing this.
Mr. Sutton’s hands rested on his cane, stared intently at Silas Sutton with a stern face, took a deep breath and asked in a tone of bitter disappointment, "Does your third brother’s injury have anything to do with you?"
Facing Mr. Sutton’s question, a mocking smile tugged at Silas Sutton’s lips, "Haven’t you already made up your mind?"
Mr. Sutton said, "I want you to say it yourself."
As Mr. Sutton spoke, Silas Sutton’s lips moved as he was about to speak, but Stella Grant interjected from the staircase, "If he says it, would you believe him?"
Stella Grant’s voice was calm, yet it drew everyone’s attention immediately. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Especially Mr. Sutton, whose anger became even more apparent upon seeing her there.
Now that Stella Grant had spoken, she didn’t plan to retreat or shirk away.
Withdrawing her confrontational gaze from Mr. Sutton, Stella Grant glanced at Silas Sutton kneeling on the ground and began descending the stairs.
Just as she reached the bottom, before she could approach Silas Sutton, Aunt Adler halted her.
Aunt Adler clutched her hand, signaling frantically, and finally whispered when she didn’t relent, "Miss Grant, don’t get involved in this matter, Mr. Sutton..."
Aunt Adler’s sentence was calmly interrupted by Stella Grant, "Don’t worry, Aunt Adler, I won’t cause any trouble."
Aunt Adler had worked at The Sutton Family long enough to understand these people well and knew Stella Grant’s significance to Silas Sutton.
Don’t be fooled by Silas Sutton obediently kneeling here; he’s kneeling willingly, but if Mr. Sutton harms Stella Grant...
Aunt Adler felt uneasy, worried that a small issue might escalate.
As Stella Grant finished speaking, Aunt Adler frowned, intending to say more, but Mr. Sutton suddenly cut her off with a stern rebuke, "All of you are just a bunch of traitors."
Startled by his words, Aunt Adler awkwardly released Stella Grant.
Stella Grant pulled her lips back in a smile directed at Aunt Adler, and then stepped over to Silas Sutton’s side, choosing not to argue with Mr. Sutton first, but rather helping Silas Sutton put his shirt back on.
Silas Sutton raised his head to look at her silently.
Stella Grant, aware of his gaze, leaned near his ear and whispered so only he could hear, "Silas Sutton, is this all you’ve got?"
Upon hearing her words, Silas Sutton chuckled softly and replied in the same low voice, "Yeah, it’s pretty pathetic."
Stella Grant retorted, "How can you protect me like this?"
After her words, the smile vanished from Silas Sutton’s face. He met her gaze, seeming to gauge the truth behind her statement.
However, Stella Grant didn’t give him much time for evaluation, as she finished buttoning his shirt and stood up to face Mr. Sutton.
Before Mr. Sutton could speak, she proactively questioned, "Mr. Sutton, you just asked Silas Sutton to speak for himself. If he says it wasn’t him, would you believe him?"
Mr. Sutton had a natural air of authority, narrow-minded yet always pretending to be reasoned and fair.
"As long as he provides evidence, I’ll believe it wasn’t him."
Stella Grant smirked, "Did this lady provide evidence of Silas Sutton framing her son?"
Mr. Sutton’s eyes narrowed, his face turned sullen without a word.
Stella Grant continued, "Does she have a witness? Or tangible proof?"
Mr. Sutton remained silent.
Stella Grant mocked, turning her gaze onto the middle-aged woman, "Is it possible she has nothing at all?"
As Stella Grant turned to her, the woman’s face grew displeased, "Who are you? This is Sutton’s family matter; it’s not your place to meddle, an outsider."
Stella Grant smiled politely, though it didn’t reach her eyes, "I’m Silas Sutton’s fiancée; compared to you, I’m considered a part of his family."
The woman was left speechless, "..."
With Stella Grant’s logical retort, Silas Sutton, still kneeling, lowered his gaze to the ground, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
