Lord of Myths: I Can Summon and Fuse Divine Powers.-Chapter 47: Eirian’s Determination. (2)
Aizel frowned.
Since his mother’s death, he had always tried to take care of his family to avoid feeling the same pain he felt with her death.
However, now he was upset.
Until now he had allowed Emiris to mistreat Eirian because he believed that way he would become tougher.
However, now he was witnessing Eirian’s true strength, a strength he achieved alone even having everything against him.
Aizel didn’t understand Eirian’s way of thinking, but he respected it.
And that was enough for him.
"Father, I think you should let Eirian finish," the young man said, looking at his father.
Emiris’s features hardened.
His gaze was fixed on Eirian, in his eyes you could see how his fury burned.
He knew that Emiris hated his own wife.
Emiris had always seen her as an insult, since she was a sick woman he had been forced to marry.
Emiris was the weakest among his brothers, which is why he had always felt attacked from all sides.
That had made him what he was now, someone capable of doing anything to achieve his goals.
However, with Aizel it was different, Aizel only obeyed his father because he believed that was best for the family, but now he was doubting.
"Listen to him for what? So he can say more nonsense? There’s no point listening to a madman like him! He’s as stupid as his mother," Emiris growled with contempt.
However, Eirian didn’t back down, on the contrary, he felt more courageous than ever.
"Stop insulting her! Mom was much better than you! You didn’t deserve her! She deserved someone much better than you!" Eirian shouted forcefully.
That seemed to enrage his father more.
"What did you say? Don’t talk nonsense! That woman was sick, defective! Marrying her was a huge humiliation! So don’t you dare tell me she was a blessing," Emiris roared forcefully.
Eirian didn’t respond, he simply summoned his bow in his hand.
"You, your name was Ruth, right? Take the children away from here," the boy ordered. "I’ll hold them off as long as I can."
Ruth was about to say something, but fell silent and simply nodded.
"Alright kids, let’s leave these guys to their family reunion," Ruth said as she guided the boys along another path.
The pink-haired girl hesitated but upon seeing Eirian’s look of determination, she moved away.
"Really?" Emiris said raising an eyebrow, looking at Eirian almost mockingly. "Do you really think you’re going to be able to save those xenos? Aizel, take care of them while I give this cretin a beating."
Emiris ordered seriously.
However, Aizel simply took his spear, and pointed it at his father.
"No, not this time," Aizel said seriously. "You’re going to work things out by talking, there’s no need to resort to violence."
The young man said, calm but firm.
Eirian felt relieved hearing those words, however Emiris frowned.
"What did you say? Have you gone crazy too? Are you also going to act like a pacifist idiot?" the man growled, as small flames began to appear around him.
Aizel nodded calmly.
"Yes, we’re family, not animals," Aizel answered calmly.
Emiris let out a long sigh, as a sarcastic smile formed on his face.
"It seems you both are going to nee—"
But before he could continue, Aizel accelerated toward his father, driving his spear into his heart, and releasing an explosion of fire in the wound.
"Then I’ll have to stop you!" Aizel shouted, as pieces of his father went flying from the explosion. "Eirian, go, I’ll take care of this."
The boy ordered, while he didn’t want Emiris to hit Aizel anymore, he didn’t want them to fight either.
"How nice, striking your father treacherously like that, I wonder why the world punished me with such ungrateful sons," Emiris said calmly, as blue and green flames began to cover his body.
That was his Devastra’s ability, and the reason he had always been despised.
He was from a lineage of Agneyastra heirs, but his power wasn’t offensive, but healing.
It was normal for him to be humiliated for it, after all his family only values offensive strength.
However, Emiris had trained his Devastra so hard that he had become practically immortal.
"I think you can’t complain too much given your attitude, father," Aizel responded as he attacked his father again.
This time Emiris managed to easily dodge the attack, while his body was wrapped in flames.
Over time he had managed to evolve his ability, unlocking the capacity to accelerate his cells one by one in unison.
His orgone had always been very weak, so he had to counteract that fact with his Devastra.
The man made his fist accelerate to Aizel’s jaw, giving him an uppercut to the jaw that made him fly upward.
"Did you really think you could treat me like this? You should know your place," Emiris said seriously as Aizel fell to the ground with his jaw broken.
His own fist had broken when delivering the blow but had already healed.
A property of Aizel’s Agneyastra was that it could create flames that wouldn’t go out and would prevent his victims from healing.
However, Emiris’s flames had evolved and were capable of devouring effects of that type if they damaged his body.
"Huh?" Then Emiris raised his forearm, receiving two arrows in it.
The arrows exploded making his arm burst while another arrow headed toward him, dividing into thousands of fire arrows in an instant.
Emiris barely had time to react as a great barrage of fire projectiles crashed against him.
However, his healing was so fast that all the wounds the burns made healed instantly.
"You should have listened to your brother and escaped," Emiris affirmed as he accelerated and grabbed his son by the neck and lifted him off the ground. "You really are very troublesome."
The man commented, as his fingers began to create flames on the boy’s neck, who struggled to breathe.
Aizel, still on the ground, tried to get up dazed, he had to stop his father before it was too late.
But then, another voice resonated in the forest.
"By all the spirits, hey you! Let go of that child," a voice then said.
Emiris turned his head, realizing he wasn’t alone.
"Shit... this day couldn’t get any worse," the man complained.
Before him was the legion of templars, in charge of investigating other temples on behalf of the holy ministry. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
The situation had gone south very quickly.
