Lost Origins: SS Ranked Awakening-Chapter 123: C-6
With another flash, he appeared in a smililar platform as the previous one. Without moving, he set the destination for the next planet and he was taken away again with a flash.
One more time and he appread at his first actual destination, C-6.
The moment he appread on the platform, he could feel the difference in atmosphere almost instantly.
The area around the terminal was almost deserted, and the eyes of those present locked onto him almost instantly.
Some of them looking on at him with expressions of pity whist others looked at him like an idiot.
Looking around, Lucian picked a random direction to walk in.
The structure of these planets were rather similar, with each of them having the same narrow and cramped buildings built into each other using space scraps.
Entering the streets, he started to see more people roaming outside, but it was no where compared to how C-3 was. Even the previous planet, C-5 was lively than what he was seeing in front of him.
His eyes moved around, noting those who peeked out from the windows, with cautious and scared expressions.
Those on the streets all had hostile expressions, their hands clutching onto their weapons. Lucian could see their tense bodies ready to jump into action at the slightest hint of threat.
’Seems like something must have changed since the time that guy was here!’
He continued walking down the streets and pretty soon, he noticed several people tailing him, but he continent walking like he had a destination in mind, unfazed.
After a few more corners, the amount of those trailing him had increased and Lucian doubted that they had any direct reaction to what he was looking for. At least he hadn’t sensed any thing especially threatening.
At the end of a turn he took was a complete dead end and a small smile appeared on his face as he turned around to face those who had finally decided to show themselves after following him for almost half an hour.
"You seem lost stranger!"
One of them walked out to the head, questioning Lucian.
Lucian took note on the scar which ran from his head, through his face, disappearing into his shirt and answered with an unbordered tone.
"What do you mean by stranger? I don’t think I’m lost either!"
He said, the lower half of his disguised face becoming visble to his....new friends.
"What do you mean? You clearly don’t know where you’re going. Do you even know where you are right now? You’re in Zeryls’ territory. Everyone who has spent the littlest time on this planet knowns that!"
He stated a couple of things obvious to the rest of them and Lucian just shrugged his shoulders in defeat, taking off the cover of his cloak to reveal his fully disguised face.
"So? You lot are here to show me the way out?"
He questioned and the man at the head frowned.
The man in front of them was a little too confident even in front of around 30 of them, all fully armed.
But he didn’t think too much of it. This stranger didn’t even know that was this Zeryls territory and even after he had heard that, there was no change in his expression either. No hint of fear, surprise or anything. It was like he had never heard the name of Zeryl before.
Zeryls name and reputation had spread to the surrounding planets as his might increased over the past years. They even had branches on some of the neighboring planets. The fact that this stranger still didn’t recognize that name only meant one thing.
He wasn’t from here!
This only made their work easier for them. If anything happened, they had the awakened in their group to depend on. With the awakened, they could easily handle any mishap that befell them.
As long as it wasn’t one of those monsters which had been becoming more active as of recent.
The man thought, glancing at one of their members at the side and Lucian caught that action, easily identifying the person as the awakened in the group.
’I guess that guys words were true. They don’t move without an awakened!’
He thought, he had spotted five more awakened who didn’t even try to conceal their presence. Not like a normal human could sense it in the first place.
"Are you done thinking?"
Lucian said, his words snapping the man out of his thoughts and before the man, now red from anger could talk, he stopped him to ask another question.
"What made you target me?"
"You used the jump terminal, only strong or foolishly rich people use that. And you don’t really look the first part to me!"
The man said, putting on a pair of knuckle OTF whilst closing in on Lucian with the rest of the group.
"Hmm!"
’I shouldn’t need to exert myself!’
He thought, watching them approach him.
The moment they the first man got within three meters away from him, he rushed out holding a club above his head.
CRACK!
A single fist to the chest was enough to cause his ribs to crack and cave in, puncturing several of his organs as he fell to the floor. His role in the fight was done.
Lucian stared at the group which had paused for a moment upon seeing what had just happened. The man beneath him was going to die pretty soon, and just from a single hit!
He raised his hands towards them and flashed them an inviting gesture with a cold expression.
The group or hot blooded men couldn’t handle this direct provocation and ran out to confront him. They had 6 awakened to step in if things went south.
There was no way he could kill all of them before that they took action.
That was what each of them thought as they raised their weapon against Lucian. If only they knew how wrong they all were, as Lucian began the massacre almost immediately they crossed the 3 meter mark.
His body moved faster than they could follow, breaking through their ranks, as he delivered punch after punch. All he needed to take a man down was a single punch.
Their weapons couldn’t touch him and they couldn’t even follow his movements. He wasn’t even using his ability, using that to deal with them was a waste.
This was just an effect of his base stats, enhanced by being an awakened one.
"He’s awakened. Let’s move!"
One of the 6 awakened in the group said to the other five. They had all waited back, not seeing any need to involve themselves in something that the others would have taken care of in a few seconds.
Unfortunately, things didn’t turn out that way and they were forced to make a move.
Lucian’s hand ripped through the chest of the last man. The same one who came out to the head, threatening him a while ago.
He had an face willed with fear, confusion and shock at the series of events that had just happened on the blink of an eye. He still had a problem processing how he had ended up with a fist through his chest.
’What about the awaken—’
He didn’t get the chance to understand or think further as Lucian ripped his first out of his chest, killing him almost instantly.
BANG!
Lucian looked into the eyes of the awakened who had just thrown him a punch, watching how his eyes widened in surprise at how easily he had taken his attack.
"You’d have to do more than that, you know"
Lucian said with raised eye brows.
"Dammit! He’s awakened too!!"
The man managed to scream out his last words as the other five watched as Lucian changed his grip smashing his back on his knee shattering his spine.
Dropping the lifeless body of the awakened who didn’t even manage to use his ability, Lucian looked at the remaining five, a cold glint flashing across his eyes.
"Surely, you lot can do better right?"
He asked and the expressions of the other five hardened as they all activated their abilities, coming at him at once.
"Ah. You should have just followed his advice earlier. At least he might have been able to live a second more!"
Lucian sighed, his voice containing something that mirrored sorrow as he bore the onslaught of the five awakened who had finally reached his position.
Watching their fists coated in different abilities approach him, Lucian smiled in amusement.
Taking a side step to dodge the others while holding onto the hand of one of them firmly, easily breaking through the rotating swirl of wind protecting him.
A single touch from him was like a death sentence, as his fist which had almost landed on his chest suddenly opened into a palm and a curios light appreard on his face.
"I wonder how resistant you are!" 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
He muttered a blast of black flames erupting from his hands, and when the flames died down, the man had turned into a black sculpture.
A small twitch from Lucian’s hand on his wrist was all that was needed for the statue to disintegrate and turn into a large pile of ashes.
"Tch! I guess I’d just have to fight without my powers then!"
He muttered, his eyes locking on to the other four with had jumped back in retreat.
They had abandoned all thoughts of fighting against him after seeing one of them get turned into ash almost immediately.
"You aren’t going anywhere!"
Lucian said, his voice was like the cold edge of a sword on the necks of the four and before they could run any further, he was in front of them.
That was the last thing they knew, the rest was history.
"Hmm... I should have at least kept one of them alive."
Lucian muttered, looking around him.
"Tch! Can’t believe I just lost possible leads!"
He muttered again, looking around at all the dead bodies on the floor. His eyes quickly shot to the entrance of the street though as one of his problems just delivered itself into his laps.
"Grrrrrr!!!"
"Well, isn’t this nice!"
