324 An Appointment with Someone Else

“Bai Qi.” Her voice sounded especially coquettish.

Bai Qi swallowed when he heard his girlfriend’s voice. There was a part of his heart that felt a little ticklish. Who would have thought that listening to her voice would make his heart feel this way?

“Are you going to sleep?”

“Mhm...” Zhang Li Xue rolled on her bed and heaved a long sigh.

During their trip to S Country, a certain someone had hugged and coaxed her to sleep and she was beginning to miss him.

Zhang Li Xue had a silly smile on her face. “You’re not busy?”

“It’s fine. I can take a few minutes of break.” A faint smile curled on her lips as he looked at the documents on his desk.

After leaving for a week, he needed to work hard and finish writing a report that he had promised to give Doctor Qi Zheng.

The couple chatted for a while about this and that. Although Bai Qi did not understand hotel management that much, he still enjoyed listening to his girlfriend talk about it.

“Should I go and look for you at the hospital tomorrow?” Zhang Li Xue asked. “I’ll bring over your dinner.”

“It’s alright. I don’t have the night shift tomorrow,” Bai Qi said. “However, I already made an appointment with someone else.”

Zhang Li Xue raised a brow. “Who are you meeting?”

“It’s a secret.” Bai Qi laughed when Zhang Li Xue turned quiet for a while. “Don’t worry. The person I’m going to meet is a man.”

“I’m not worried about this. Anyway, I trust you.”

The smile on his lips stretched up. He liked how Zhang Li Xue trusted him without question.

“I’m just curious to know what secret you are keeping from me,” Zhang Li Xue continued.

“I will tell you about it later,” Bai Qi said. “I’m a little worried that the discussion would not end up as well as I wanted it to be.”

“Is there anything I can help with?”

“It’s alright. But if the discussion did not go well, I might still need your help.”

Her brow furrowed. If it was something that she could help with, then, perhaps, it was not regarding his work.

Zhang Li Xue was still curious. However, she could only wait or Bai Qi to tell her about it some other time. He should have his own reason for keeping it a secret. She also believed that Bai Qi would tell her about it when the time comes.

The two of them chatted for a while before they hung up.

Her boyfriend still needed to work and she did not want to disturb him.

Zhang Li Xue was preparing to go to bed when someone knocked on her door.

“Li Xue, are you still awake?”

Zhang Li Xue was surprised to hear her father’s voice. “Daddy, I’m still awake. Hold on. I’ll open the door.”

She glanced at the clock and opened the door to find her father standing in front of her.

“Daddy, what is it?” She looked at the clothes he was wearing and noted that he had just returned home from the office. “Did you just get home?”

“Mhmm...” Zhang Yu Han had a faint smile on his face. “Li Xue, I have something to talk to you about. Next week, I’m heading to H City to look at the new hotel’s construction. Do you want to come with me?”

“Next week?”

Zhang Yu Han nodded. “You and your brother are going to take over the business anyway. It’s time for you to learn about some things. Don’t worry. I will talk to your manager about this.”

Zhang Li Xue pursed her lips. “I don’t have anything planned for next week. Alright. Daddy, I will go with you.”

“Then, I will let my assistant hand you the program.” Zhang Yu Han stretched his hand and patted his daughter on her head. “Alright. You can go to sleep now.”
