By the time Ao Jue returned home, it was already late at night. He walked into the hall, raised his hand to loosen his tie, and a hint of fatigue showed on his face.

Song Zhike reviewed all the surveillance yesterday evening but didn’t find any traces of hacking.

This means there’s only one possibility left: the other party broke into the Ciaos surveillance room and deleted the crucial footage themselves.

"What are you doing there?"

Su Jiuyi was originally going downstairs to get a glass of water, but she didn’t expect to run into Ao Jue. Seeing that he was deep in thought, she didn’t want to disturb him, so she hid in a corner, but he noticed her first.

"I... well, I wanted to get some water." Su Jiuyi replied in a low voice.

There was a hallway between them, and beside it were two large floor-to-ceiling windows. The moonlight shone through the window paper, casting beautiful patterns on the floor.

Ao Jue’s face was at the boundary between light and dark, which made his features even more defined.

"Are you getting used to it?" He leaned on the stair railing, the moonlight elongated his silhouette.

"Yes." Su Jiuyi nodded and still said, "Thank you."

"No need."

He quietly looked at her, her eyes were very beautiful, sparkling with lively light.

After a long time, Ao Jue spoke softly, "Interested in a drink?"

Su Jiuyi hesitated for a few seconds, then said, "Sure."

Ao Jue’s room was similar in layout to Ciaos, but without much luxurious decoration. It was instead a simple white tone, and you could hardly see any women’s items in the room.

He placed the Lafite from the wine cellar on the table and lit a candle, adding a touch of romance.

Seeing this scene, Su Jiuyi couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

"What’s so funny?" Against the weak candlelight, his features softened, lacking his usual stern demeanor.

Su Jiuyi thought this was too much like a candlelight dinner but was too embarrassed to say it, so she just shook her head indicating nothing was wrong.

Ao Jue was wearing a white shirt and had changed into white cotton slippers, looking very casual.

Seeing his simple attire, Su Jiuyi remembered his strong build that night, feeling like he was a completely different person.

Wearing clothes makes him look slim; without them, he’s muscular. That must be describing someone like him.

The two sat facing each other, and Ao Jue, like a gentleman, poured red wine into her glass, then pushed it in front of Su Jiuyi.

But Su Jiuyi’s eyes were fixed on the fruit on the table.

"Hungry?" Seeing her eager expression, Ao Jue laughed.

"No, I just think drinking on an empty stomach isn’t very good." Su Jiuyi replied seriously.

Ao Jue didn’t mind; he simply downed his drink and leaned back on his chair, watching her with interest.

"Do you like apples?" Su Jiuyi speared a piece of apple with a fork and asked him.

"They’re okay." Actually, he rarely ate fruit.

She smiled, her eyes curved: "Then I’ll eat it." She said this and quickly put it in her mouth, chewed it, and swallowed.

"Do you like watermelon?" She then speared another piece and asked with a smile.

Ao Jue chuckled softly, pushed the entire fruit platter in front of her, and said, "You can have it all, consider it a welcome gift for your first day."
