Silas furrowed his brows together, his eyes darkening as he tried to remember someone called Jasper. Realization dawned over him. Years ago, he heard the awful rumors of Cedric executing his brother-in-law, Jasper.
As much as he liked the fact that he was out of the picture, he hated the fact that Isabella was comparing him to that guy. Silas’s eyes softened when he heard her painful cry, her whole body trembling,
" Princess! Look at me! I am not him."
Isabella refused to look up at him, her words coming out repeating,
" You are a beast. Beast. Like him..You are no different." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Silas lost his calmness as he grabbed her face tightly, forcing her to look into his eyes,
" LOOK AT ME! I AM NOT HIM! I WILL NEVER BE HIM!"
Isabella panicked in fear as the memories of that horrible night played in her mind. She remembered how Jasper killed those innocent people. She wouldn’t have believed him if she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes. She heard the dead bodies, heard the cry for mercy, and saw the beast that her husband turned out to be. All her love was gone from that day. It was hard to hate the man that she loved.
Isabella scrambled away, afraid of repeating the history. Shaking her head repeatedly, she blurted out bitterly, ignoring the stream of rain on her face,
" NO!!! I CAN’T.. Please stay away... STAY AWAY FROM ME. I DON’T WANT TO HATE MYSELF AGAIN."
His wife, Isabella felt equally guilty for those innocent lives. She hated herself even more when she remembered how many times Cedric warned her about Jasper & his bloody activities. But she was blind in love, refusing to believe that her husband could kill someone. Jasper was a devoted husband to her. But when the night came, he was the beast who lived in innocent blood.
Silas felt even worse as he kept standing in the rain cluelessly. All of a sudden, Isabella stood up and began to run away from Silas, scared of what she had just now. Silas chased her back, not wanting to leave her side.
As Isabella didn’t stop running, Silas was left with no choice. He hit her head hard from behind, muttering before her body collapsed,
" I am sorry but I am.. not letting you go.."

" One VIP room for the honorable guest. Would you like some wine, Sir?"
The male receptionist greeted Silas with a smile. As the rain was getting heavier, he decided to spend the night in a nearby rest house. Silas was wearing a long coat with a matching hoodie. It was impossible to recognize his face with the hat. Isabella was still unconscious in his arms. Men often came here with drunk women. So the rest house members didn’t mind or doubt anything else.
Silas replied coldly,
" NO NEED!"
He was about to walk inside when the male receptionist spoke again, pissing him off,
" Perhaps a better woman? We have young & fresh girls, Sir. If you want, I can personally arrange..."
Silas didn’t bother to reply. He only took his hat off and shot a murderous look at the receptionist. When the receptionist saw the notorious mad duke, his mouth fell speechlessly. He quickly gave a long bow, stumbling on his words,
" YOUR HIGHNESS! I was just saying..."
Silas walked off quickly before anyone could see them together. He didn’t want Isabella to be scolded again. After he entered the room that he booked, he put her on the bed cautiously. Isabella was all over wet from the rain. Even her clothes were barely wearable. When his gaze landed on the perky nipples, his face darkened before he looked away!
FOCUS!! Not the fucking right time!
Silas sat up to lighten the candles. He hoped that it would keep the room warm. He didn’t believe that Isabella would have appreciated it if he changed her wet dress. As the candles were on, a low groaning came from Isabella. She was finally awake with a throbbing headache.
As her eyes opened, she caught the sight of Silas, standing next to the candles. In the yellow light, he was looking more handsome. But remembering the terrific side of him, Isabella was scared again and started to get down from the bed, ready to run away,
" I am.. sorry..I should probably leave.. first.."
Before her feet could touch the ground, Silas charged forward at a remarkable speed. In a moment, he threw her back on the bed, whispering into her ears,
" You know what, Princess? I have plenty of ways to shut you up and keep you here busy for the whole night. I don’t think that you would like it at all."
His hoarse voice rang in her ears. It took a lot of his power to not tear her clothes apart. His love for her and the mate bond that he put inside her body was turning him irresistible. Isabella held her breath and didn’t dare to move. She understood today that he was called a mad duke for a reason. His eyes held such power that she didn’t dare to move her limbs a bit. She could feel that he was near to explosion.
Silas plopped back on the bed with a deep sigh. He thought that she would be normal again after she woke up. After a moment of hesitation, he asked in a broken voice, his eyes flashing with unbearable pain,
" Do you..hate me now, Isabella?"
