Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 101: Tania Reports To King Ronan
In the king’s study, Ronan was reading a report from one of his men that he had placed on the southern border. The man placed the letter in front of him slowly when he found the personal maid from Arielle coming to visit him again.
The old lady must come to see him because she had something about Arielle to say.
"Greetings, Your Majesty. Sorry if I am interrupting your work."
Ronan didn’t mind at all. He stepped up from his chair and sat on the sofa. The man extended his hand on the seat in front of him, asking Tania to sit down.
"Sit down. You look tired," said Ronan making Tania lift her head back to look at the king and the sofa beside him in turn.
The man once again motioned for Tania to sit down. Tania then rested her body comfortably on the sofa.
"So what do you want to say?" asked the king.
Tania was making up her mind to report this to the king. She didn’t know what had happened, but she had a feeling that the South had prepared something for Arielle after they returned home.
Prince Alexis had clearly said that they needed Arielle to return to the South immediately for some mysterious reasons. Therefore, Tania intended to ask the king for help to protect Arielle. If this decision meant she would stay in the North, then that was what Tania would choose.
"Your Majesty, pardon my impudence. I have decided to settle in the North," said Tania. Ronan raise one of his eyebrows in surprise when he heard her statement.
This was very surprising. It felt like only a few nights ago, the woman asked him to give Arielle a chance to choose. She also looked very frightened when Ronan mentioned her agreement with the king of Nieverdell.
"Why so suddenly? Did Arielle’s two siblings convey the news that you have been relieved of your duties from guarding Arielle? Are they no longer threatening your male friend, the painter?" asked Ronan, who was still very curious about the change in the woman’s desires.
"No, Your Majesty." Tania shook her head. Her heart was wrenched as she recalled Queen Rosalie’s threat before their departure for the North.
Tania had an agreement with King Hugo to always take care of Arielle. She was not allowed to marry or have a family. But she had had a long-time lover, a man named Matthew, a painter from the village they were born in.
One day Tania invited Matthew to the palace to teach Arielle to paint. Matthew said he would wait for Tania in the village, but Tania couldn’t leave Arielle alone. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Time passed, she began to wrinkle with age. Her old love story had died down until the day of their departure for the North, Tania was summoned by Queen Rosalie.
The queen gave a letter that Tania knew. The letter was written by Matthew, who told her that he was married and had a beautiful daughter. Matthew’s wife had died due to childbirth.
It was written how Matthew wanted to see Tania again. It turned out that the letter had been written two years ago and had been hidden by the queen all along.
The queen said that if Tania wanted to see Matthew again, she had to serve and guard Arielle in the North and make sure to bring Arielle home. Upon returning, Queen Rosalie promised to make King Hugo cancel their agreement so that Tania could marry Matthew.
This was the thing that made Tania always want to return to the South as soon as possible. However, the current situation had changed. Tania missed Matthew, but she was too old to be selfish.
She no longer wanted to get back together with Matthew. Just let Matthew be happy with his daughter. Now Tania preferred to protect the princess, whom she considered her own child.
"Earlier, I overheard Prince Alexis and Princess Andrea talking. I think Nieverdell has done something that would sacrifice Princess Arielle again, Your Majesty."
Ronan frowned, trying to understand the words the old woman in front of him tried to convey.
"Something that would sacrifice Arielle, you say?" asked Ronan with a slight growl.
"I don’t know for sure what happened, but I heard clearly that the South needs Princess Arielle to come back soon. It was Prince Alexis himself who said that Princess Arielle should go home on good terms, lest Princess Arielle likes the North more than the South."
"Are you sure?"
"I am very sure, Your Majesty." Tania stood up from her sofa and then prostrated in front of the king. "This is my request, Your Majesty. Please protect Princess Arielle from the South, and I will pledge my allegiance to the North."
Ronan clenched his fists hearing that. He had just received a secret letter through his eagle about the origins of the wolves the South obtained. He had always wondered how they managed to obtain the wolves so quickly.
The Nieverdell Royal Family had obtained a pair of wolves from a Southern nobleman named Duke Pellington, who owned a crystal mine on the border of South and West.
Ronan smelled something rotten.
"I know what I should do. Tania, I’ll give you the assignment to serve Alexis and his sister. You are all Southerners. They’ll be more relaxed with someone they know. Act as usual, and leave it all to me."
"A-alright, Your Majesty," replied Tania nervously.
Tania suddenly felt a dark aura emanating from the man in front of her. She couldn’t see the expression covered by the mask, but Tania could clearly see the king’s knuckles turning white with his fists.
Ronan gritted his teeth. Jaws clenched in anger. "No one will be able to hurt Arielle on this earth. I will not let a single person touch a single hair on Arielle’s head. And if anyone dares to hurt her, I will hunt them to the ends of the world."
Tania swallowed her saliva with difficulty. King Ronan sounded angry. The man allowed Tania to leave the room and the frightened Tania immediately stood up and then left without waiting any longer.
