Chapter 586: The Day Before Coronation

Arielle was busy with all the preparations for her coronation day. She also began to accept guests from several high-ranking royal families to receive their congratulations and joy. Sometimes in the midst of her busy day, Arielle took the time to take care of Abigail’s eggs, which was also her responsibility.

Arielle could only see Ronan at night, it was if she wasn’t too tired. She would tell him about her day, but Ronan often met Arielle who had fallen asleep. He could understand how busy his wife was. In the past, when Ronan was also about to be crowned a king, he received many requests from people who wanted to meet him, but he was more assertive and chose who was allowed to meet him and not.

Ronan had offered to sort the guests for Arielle, but the girl refused. She wanted to get to know everyone without an exception. On that occasion, Arielle met Lazarus’ father and stepmother as well. Lazarus’ stepmother hopes that Arielle would help find a noble woman for her son so he would stay in the North and stop sailing on a faraway sea.

Arielle kept her mouth shut regarding Lazarus and Aimee’s relationship. She didn’t have the right to say that because she was not involved in their relationship at all.

After that, Arielle finally met Kael’s father. The former Highest Commander of the Palace Knight army who had retired and had now been replaced by Kael. Kael and Aimee’s father didn’t ask for the same thing as Lazarus’ parents. He only thanked Arielle for taking care of Aimee and Kael.

Arielle also expressed her gratitude because Aimee had helped her a lot during her stay in the palace and learned the palace protocol.

Not only guests from Northendell, she also met the prime minister of the Thebis Kingdom. He represented their king who was unable to attend Arielle’s coronation ceremony. Arielle was also introduced to several noble daughters who hoped to get a banquet invitation directly from her.

One of them was Fiona. Arielle just found out her name. She was the Daughter of Duke Coley whom she had met in Frostmount Village before. The brunette haired girl congratulated Arielle and presented her with a piece of jewelry with yellow gems, reminding Arielle of her yellow dress.

She wanted to turn it down, but Lady Fione was adamant that the jewelry was deliberately chosen for her future queen.

Because tomorrow was an important day and Arielle needed enough rest, Aimee stopped the princess’ schedule to meet people. Arielle needed enough rest and these few days had been quite exhausting.

Arielle also took the opportunity to take a break to see Irene who really liked to experiment with colors lately. Maybe the girl’s painting skills weren’t as good as Arielle’s, but she still painted whatever she saw before her eyes. Sasha still visited her frequently and the boy always accompanied Irene to paint.

Just like this time, Sasha sat quietly while looking at Irene who was trying to paint a flower vase that Arielle had deliberately placed on the table for Irene to learn how to draw using a pencil.

Hearing the voice, the two turned their heads and gave Arielle a small smile.

"Are you enjoying your day?" Arielle asked as she approached them.

"Yeah. Princess Irene’s painting ability is really cool. Now she can draw a flower vase with a pencil," replied Sasha.

Arielle stopped behind Irene and looked at the little girl’s drawing. She then held Irene’s shoulders gently and pointed at the bottom of the vase. "You can shade this part a bit thicker so the light effect can look sharper," she said.

Arielle often taught Irene some drawing tricks. At first, Sasha also wanted to learn to draw, but that desire stopped halfway because he couldn’t stay in the same place as Irene for hours. He preferred to see his female friend who was three years older than him to paint.

"Did both of you have lunch?" Arielle asked.

Irene just nodded. "With Aimee and Tania. I wanted to invite you, but you are still very busy," replied Sasha.

Arielle chuckled and gently ruffled Sasha’s curly red hair.

"Then, maybe I’ll ask the king to have lunch with me. You two don’t forget to rest if you’re tired. And Irene, you don’t have to finish that drawing in one day. You can do it again tomorrow," Arielle said then said goodbye to Irene and Sasha who were back focusing on the painting in front of them.

Arielle saw people passing by preparing for tomorrow’s big event. There were also several carriages that stopped in front of the palace. Maybe they were her husband’s guests. Did that mean Ronan was very busy today?

Maybe Arielle should take a peek first. She promised not to bother the man’s work.

Arielle walked alone to the Blackthorn Palace and saw the palace ballroom that had been magically decorated with various white and gold ornaments. The servants and workers stretched out the colored ribbons and then decorated the stairs and placed various kinds of beautiful flowers in every part. Arielle touched it for a moment and found it wasn’t an artificial flower.

Everyone bowed their heads to respect Arielle, and the girl walked down the hall to her husband’s office. She opened it slightly and saw Ronan massaging his temples while writing something down on a paper. The man looked very tired. Would tomorrow’s event keep him very busy? Arielle had always fallen asleep first for the last two nights, so she didn’t know if Ronan was getting enough rest or not.

All she knew was that Ronan would come every night, but every time Arielle got up in the morning, the man was already getting ready to go back to work.

"Knock knock ..." said Arielle, imitating the sound of knocking on the door.

Ronan frowned and looked up. Seeing his wife who was visiting him after a few days busy with her own duties, he hurriedly got up and called Arielle to come inside. Arielle closed the door again. She forgot her determination to just peek. Seeing Ronan looking stressed with work made her want to cheer him up.
