“Care to explain why you are staking out?”

Jade jolted up a bit and quickly turned around.

The way and manner in which he appeared before her got her shocked out of her wit.

She had least believes he or anyone would do something like that.

If not for the fact that she recognized his voice anywhere, she would have attacked him without looking. “Xander.”

“Yes, Jade. Spill. What is going on?”

She lowered her gaze a bit. He caught her so easily, what chance was there that someone else would not see her?

“I came to have a check out and see what Zale was doing since the latest news we have of him were old ones of him being sick.”

“I see.” He crossed both arms in front of his chest and waited for her to continue.

“So that’s it. I was looking for a way to get in.”

“Without informing me first?” He raised his eyebrow at her.

“About that, I believe > can do what I wish to, Xander.”

“Yes but still. I put you somewhere for your safety and the first thing you did when you got an opportunity to get out was to come to the enemies den. What were you thinking, Jade? This is not a child’s playground!”

“Hey you do not get to scold me, Xander. What about you? Do I interfere and find out where you go to? Besides when you went to the city, did you inform me or seek my permission?”

She was not joining but very angry that he could get mad at her like that.

“That’s different. I needed to calm things down but yours... It’s like saying, oh do not search for me again, I am here Anders!”

Her eyes shot open when she heard him half yell.

She did not know what came over her but all Jade knew was that she jumped on his body, pressing her lips to his and sending them both to the ground.

His own eyes pried wider as well but he did not resist her nor push away. Rather he welcomed the idea of being kissed first by her. Be it as a way to silence him or not or just as an excuse to resume what they left unfinished in the conference room, he couldn’t care less.

All that mattered was the fact that his tigress was in his arms right at that moment.

“Hmmm...” He curved his feathers using it to cover her as he dove deeper into her mouth, enjoying the feel of her warmth.

Suddenly they heard footsteps approaching those direction and Jade’s eyes shot wide open.

Without a second thought she pulled away from the kiss but not from his grasp. He wasn’t letting go. He intended on making her stay with him.

She shit him a warning gaze, silently reminding him of the fact that anyone who comes would see them and seen what it who he was.

When she was being frantic about it in her facial expression, he was relaxed as though the danger wasn’t looking close.

“Xander if we stay they would see us, let go so...”

“Ummm...” she did not get to finish her sentence before he claimed her lips again, shutting her up completely.

However while he relaxed into the kiss, Jade could barely focus on his kiss when they were in danger of being seen by the enemy, putting them in grave danger.

To her surprise the footsteps became so close that her heart began to beat heavily against her chest.

If not for the fact that he was enjoying basking in her mouth, he would have not failed to let out a chuckle at how frantically her eyes moved.

He stopped kissing her and moved his lips close to her ear. “My love, keep still. Do not make a move or noise. This would be over soon.”

Suddenly the warmth in his eyes turned extremely cold as he averted his gaze from her to the place where the person was ‘oming to.

The next thing she knew, she heard him murmuring some inaudible words and turned her head to face him. At the same time the owner of the footsteps came.

Right before her eyes she saw his feathers and their body suddenly turned invisible like they were not there.

Her eyes widened even more and her jaw dropped. This was awesome.

Taking that moment to full advantage, Xander wrapped his arms tightly around her before pressing his lips on hers again.

Finally she felt more relaxed seeing that the danger was taken care of by him and returned his kiss a little bit.

His tongue dove into her waiting mouth the second Jade opened wider and he twirled with her tongue, loving -ow much excitement he got from the danger lurking.

To him it was funny that the bad guy couldn’t see them even though they were making out right in front of him.

After a few minutes of checking he withdrew and returned back to his post.

For the entire duration of the time he was there, Xander made sure to bask in the pleasure of her kiss since knowing her, she would escape and give him an excuse after the danger had gone.

Alas as he had thought, she pushed against his chest with both her hands, breaking free from his lips but not his hold.

Their breathing came in labored and after catching their breaths he could see a faint blush staining her lively white cheeks.

Reaching up to cup her chin, he directed her gaze to his while smirking at her.

“Is that how much you trust me less, Jade?”

She did not answer. She understood what he was referring to.

“My love, my mate, don’t you understand it? Did you think for a second I would put you in danger?”

“I-I well I did not. It was just...”

That was the answer he needed and he dove right in, claiming her lips again.
