"Hu! Hu! Hu! Just how far did I reach? Should I really stop?"

Alex puts his palm on his hand while panting hard. He tried to take a breather but he was still scared of staying there even for a moment.

Commanders! Every single one of them was a commander. If it wasn't for Adam, he would've been sleeping till now.

"Yeah! You ran far enough. I can't even sense them." Adam spoke from his Spirit Land. His voice was solemn and filled with a bit of fear as well.

Alex caught that voice very well. After living with him for two years, this is the first time he has heard such a shaky voice from Adam. The confidence that Adam always carries with him wasn't there.

"Those spirits! Are they really Seven Spirits that you mentioned before?" Alex calmed down as he took a breather and asked.

"They are. I can't forget their auras. I have seen them before. Seven spirits bear the title of sinners. They have formed the contract with that man." Adam's voice was breaking a little as he continued. He wasn't showing off his fear but he couldn't hide it either.

"But, isn't he a commander? And, those spirits left the Spirit World nine years ago. By that time, he should be sixteen or seventeen. How can he make a contract with seven spirits? It should be impossible." Alex asked with confusion.

"I don't know. I am not sure about this." Adam grunted with frustration in his eyes.

"His previous spirit sacrificed for this." Ava suddenly spoke as she opened her eyes.

"Previous spirit?" Adam and Alex sounded perplexed when they heard her.

"I am not sure about everything but it seems like he made a contract with an old spirit. Unlike humans, our strength is mostly determined by our age unless we make a contract with the spirit. In other words, that spirit must be strong but with low talent."

"That forced him to make another contract. I could understand his frustration of having a low-level spirit when he possessed a lot of talent himself. It should be nine years ago and that should be the moment when those seven spirits left the spirit world."

"The major problem for forming a second contract at the low rank is the chance of human soul getting raptured. Just two spirits are enough to tear one's soul when they are weak."

"You simply imagine the horror of seven spirits. So, that old spirit should've sacrificed himself to gather enough genesis to keep the soul and Spirit Land safe."

"That guy Paul is really lucky to have a strong spirit from the beginning. After his spirit sacrificed himself, they became his spirits. But, they are unique. Unlike normal spirits, they possess the powers of spirit and another race."

"This gives them the ability to come out of Spirit Land. This land only exists to contain the Spirits but it can't contain other races. This is why humans can only form a contract with Spirits." Ava explained with a gloomy look on her face.

"He did betray White Knights, right?" Alex understood their moods and asked.

"Yes!"

"Then, we don't have to worry about anything. As long as we don't make him our enemy, he won't come to fight us, right?" Alex tried to cool down their mood. After all, he didn't like them getting gloomy over something. In fact, he has never seen them this gloomy at all.

Adam and Ava looked at each other realizing his meaning and sighed.

"Yeah, you are right. We don't need to focus on him."

"And, there is someone better than you who always pushes you to the limit. I don't think it's that bad."

Alex smiled after seeing them cheering up. He stretched out his arms and looked around.

"We are in the middle of the desert. Where do you think we should go?"

"I told you to take one of those vehicles waiting outside the prison. Now, this will be harder for you." Adam scolded him since he was completely clueless and useless about this place.

"I couldn't. Those kinds of the vehicle normally have GPS attached to them. Our movement can easily be tracked if we take them. Anyway, I feel like we are in the middle of Red Dragon Desert." Alex answered and tried to walk in a different direction.

"Red Dragon Desert? That's some name." Adam replied.

"Yeah! One of the strongest creatures that humanity has ever faced 'Red Dragon' appeared here. From then on, people started calling it Red Dragon Desert. After two awakening, the names of the places have changed a lot. If I am not wrong, this desert was previously located in Asia."

"It was already the biggest desert of Asia and now it is five times bigger than before. I am not sure how to go out." Alex sighed as he remembered the details that he read in his history lessons.

"Wait, I thought dragons haven't invaded your world yet?" Ava asked.

"Well, not many of them. Just one or two have appeared from the portals. Anyway, which direction should I go or should I check the Map Function of the system?" Alex shrugged his shoulder and answered.

"Why don't you follow the sun? If I am not wrong, people normally settle at the place where sunset and the place where the sun rises. The other two directions might not be useful." Adam suggested but even he wasn't sure of his own words.

"That's the problem. Even if I can find the city, this desert would be too big. I am low on stamina. I don't think I have enough water in my body. And, I am wearing torn clothes. What am I supposed to do?" Alex rubbed his forehead and looked at the sun.

The sun had already crossed his head. So, he knew which direction was west and which was east.

"Alex, don't worry too much! Spirit Energy can keep you alive as long as you don't engage in battles." Ava tried to motivate him but it didn't help a lot.

Alex took a deep breath and decided to walk in the direction of the sun. He basically moving towards the west. He knew his only hope was spirit energy.

But while walking suddenly, he remembered something.

'System, don't you have water or food or clothes?'

A ray of hope appeared in his eyes but the next moment, a huge banner blocked that ray of hope.

[Host, System doesn't possess food and water.]

'Come on, just how useless can you be?' Hearing that reply, Alex roared in his mind.

[...…..]

[Although system doesn't have food and water, it does have something that can help Host]

[Lucky Aura- 10000 WG]

[With Lucky Aura, even in extreme condition, Host can get anything he wants]

'..... System, can I give you a command?' Seeing that Alex asked with a smile on his face.

[Yes, Host!]

'Can you please eat one mouthful of deadliest poison, wrap a metal rope around your neck, connect it to the invertor, dig a hole to the middle of the earth, and jump while getting electric shock?'

[...…..]

[System doesn't have a human body]

'Argh! Come on, just how ridiculous can you be? Can't you see I only have 50 WG Points? Why in the world are you suggesting 10000 WG Points worth of item? It's like suggesting a Gold Phone to the person who can only afford a keypad phone.'

'You are so fu*king useless.'

Alex caught his head and shook it furiously. He didn't know what he was supposed to do with this system. He felt like this system is the most useless system of all time.

[Host! Believe me, I am useful]

'Oh yeah! I hope you can prove it someday. Except for healing me, you have been cornered by my spirits all the time.'

The only reason he even kept this system not knowing whether it will hurt him or not was because it healed him at the beginning. Because of that, he is alive and that's why he didn't want to turn it off or even destroy it.

Alex stopped discussing with the system and walked with all of his remaining willpower. His only goal was to go out of this desert.

"So, what are you planning to do after this?" Adam asked after he saw Alex calming down. He knew Alex was talking with his system. So, he didn't disturb it before. fre𝑒𝘸𝚎𝚋n૦ѵℯl.c𝒐𝘮

"Huh! I haven't thought about it before. But, I don't think I have that many choices. If this White Knight wasn't a secret organization, I wouldn't even be able to go out in the city or anywhere. But since it is a secret organization, I am going to use this to my advantage."

"Royal Family, Holy Church, and Spirit Association. Royal Family and Holy Church are out of the question. My only chance is Spirit Association. But, inside Spirit Association, there are three different kinds of forces. Holy Dragon Academy, Hunter Guild, and Five Major Clans."

"Among them, Holy Dragon Academy is out of the question. I am already eighteen. Even if I want to enter that place, it would be hard without a proper background. Now, Hunter Guild and Five Major Clans remained."

"If my memory serves correct, then Five Major Clans are Sabertooth Tiger Clan, Battle Monk Clan, Supreme Mage Clan, Sword Clan, and finally Warrior Clan. Getting into the Clan isn't that hard but you need to be specifically good at something to enter a specific clan."

"On the other hand, Hunter Guild simply allows anyone to join. But, they are the one who lives at constant risk. They are the first ones to enter the dungeon. They must reach the portal first as well. And, basically, they are the one who faces off against monsters at the start."

"One needs specific talent, another comes with risk. Which one should I choose?"
