"Alright, I’m definitely not going to lose here; once the match starts, I want you to release a powerful win spell," Crystal muttered as Laura looked at both teams to see if they were ready.

Ethan could see it in Crystal’s eyes, she was ready to win, and he would love to see her battle and how strong she is now.

"Let’s do this," Crystal muttered, her eyes focused.

Laura gave the signal, and the match started. One of the fire mages immediately launched a fireball straight at them.

Crystal stretched her hands, summoning a wall of earth just in time. The flames crashed against it but couldn’t break through.

’She doesn’t need to touch the ground to use this spell again’ Ethan muttered.

"Now!" Crystal yelled to her teammate.

[Wind Gust]

With a powerful gust, her teammate sent a strong blast of wind, aiming at one of the fire mages.

[Flame Cloak]

The girl activated a flame cloak and stood her ground but she stumbled back, struggling to control her fire against the wind.

Crystal quickly lowered her wall, and before the other flame teammates could cast a spell, she placed her hands on the ground.

[Mud trap, Earth spikes]

The ground beneath the fire mage began to sink, but she quickly tried to escape, and from all around, spikes emerged from the ground and extended toward her, stopping just inches away from her face, chest, and back.

"You’re out" Laura called immediately.

At the same time, Crystal’s teammate was battling the second fire mage but her wind was being overpowered by her flames till her wind died out.

"Kindle the fire, let it soar. Arrow of flame, strike, and roar," the girl spoke immediately, and from her hand, a bright red arrow was shot toward the girl.

[Gale Barrier]

The wind girl constructed a barrier made of wind but as soon as the arrow hit, it exploded and sent her flying.

"Out," Laura said immediately; both teams eliminated an opponent almost at the same time.

Now, it was one-on-one. Crystal stood facing the last fire mage.

The girl sent a wave of flames, but Crystal dodged and quickly stomped her foot, sending a stone spike out of the ground.

The fire mage barely avoided it, and immediately countered, but Crystal wasn’t caught off guard.

"Flame unbound, multiply and rise, fireball," the girl spoke as she stretched her hands.

"Earth rise and stand tall, form a shield, a solid wall," Crystal also spoke, and a wall formed in front of her, blocking the barrage of fireballs.

Spell chants were one of the lessons they were talking about. Chants could increase spell power but more slowly than casting spells, but with the increase in power, it was worth it.

The fireballs hit Crystal’s wall and broke half of the wall, but none of them penetrated and with the debris from the wall, Crystal destroyed the remaining part of the wall and cast another spell without chanting.

"Stone bullets!" Crystal shouted.

Small stones that were part of the wall rose from the ground, then shot toward the fire mage like a barrage of arrows. The fire mage tried to counter with her flames, but the stones moved too fast. They hit her, not hard enough to make her lose the match but she was already bleeding from a cut on her lip.

Crystal knew she just needed a final spell to finish it, but she wanted to show off.

"Earth tremor." Crystal placed her hand on the ground, and the magic circle where the tournament was taking place began to shake. The mage couldn’t keep her balance, and a whizzing sound was the last thing the mage heard as a stone hit her head and she fell to the ground.

Crystal smiled, and Laura called the end of the match.

’If Crystal was this strong then how did she lose to Isabella and Mabel, I wonder how strong they would be, now I’m regretting not participating in the tournament’
