Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband-Chapter 143
Chapter 143: Chapter 143
Sebastian knew that Winter was just trying to help him.
But he didn’t want her to be seen as a cruel woman who wanted to isolate her husband. Winter truly did nothing wrong, so Seb felt that he should take full responsibility for what happened, including jailing his mother.
"No need to fret over it. He’s gone now, and I’m sure that Lucien won’t say anything after this," Winter said. "Now, let’s focus on what’s actually important."
"Ah, yes, the progress is going smoothly. Lucien likes to nitpick, but he is still a professional at heart. So, it should go at the same pace—or even a little faster than what happened in our previous lives," Sebastian explained, thinking that was what Winter deemed as important.
Winter smiled and sighed, "No, silly. That’s not the ’important’ thing I want to talk about."
"Oh?" Sebastian looked at Winter dumbly. "Did I miss something? Sorry, I’ve been preoccupied with work, I didn’t pay enough attention."
Winter sighed again.
Sometimes, she wondered if Sebastian’s mental growth was stunted because outside of work, he still acted like a clueless teenager most of the time.
She took a small box out of her bag and handed it to her husband, "You can open it and see what kind of surprise I have."
Sebastian frowned as he stared at the box in his hand.
His mind ran wild as he began thinking about all the possibilities of messing up. He didn’t remember ever arguing with Winter as he had been so busy these days.
Finding no answer to his suspicion, he opened the box and stared at the item inside for a good five seconds before he lifted his head, staring at Winter dumbly.
"W-Winter, you are—"
"Pregnant with your child," Winter replied. "And I’m planning to keep it."
Sebastian dropped the test pack and embraced his wife immediately. He hugged her tight and muttered, "You’re going to be a mom, Winter."
"And you will be a dad," Winter added. "I want you to be a responsible one. Don’t be an absentee just because you’re busy in the office."
Sebastian never think that he could be a good father, knowing how fucked up his life growing up. But he would do his best for his wife and baby.
"I promise to fix everything in this life, including my sin to our baby," Sebastian vowed. "He didn’t get to live before..."
Winter was reminded of that moment when she jumped alongside the baby in her stomach. She was at her wit’s end, and at that time, only death would give her peace.
She also felt responsible for what would happen to this baby, so she added, "I will also make sure that our baby will be safe in this life. He will be the proof of our love."

Winter decided not to tell anyone about her pregnancy except her old mother, as she felt it was a private matter for her and her family. fгeewebnovёl.com
Days passed normally, Sebastian still worked nonstop at the office, but he still tried his best to go home as early as possible to check on his beloved.
However, as the pregnancy grew and Winter reached the end of her first trimester, she showed the symptoms of cravings, not for food, but for her behavior.
She would start visiting the grave where Aiden was buried twice a week, usually on Saturday and Sunday when Sebastian had some time to accompany her.
She wiped the tombstone of her beloved first husband and talked to the grave, "I’m back, Aiden. My baby with Seb is doing just fine. The doctor said he will be a healthy baby as long as I don’t stress myself out."
Sebastian was holding an umbrella to shield his wife from the drizzle. It was a cloudy Sunday, and he was worried that his wife would get sick since the temperature had dropped during autumn.
However, he also knew that his wife craved for this, so he waited until she was done and they finally walked out of the cemetery.
Sebastian was holding the umbrella as they walked back to the car. Winter had a gloomy expression as he looked at Seb and said, "I’m sorry that I cannot forget about Aiden, Seb."
"It’s okay, I understand. I never want to replace him either," Sebastian replied. Though, if he could be honest, he wished she could love him, even as a second choice, a spare part since Aiden was dead.
Winter kept her gaze on her husband as she pursed her lips, knowing what was on his mind, "I’m sorry that I don’t love you enough. But I will try my best."
Sebastian clenched the umbrella. He didn’t want to talk about this.
He knew he shouldn’t be selfish. The fact that Winter allowed him to stay by her side as her husband, and also willingly carried his baby was more than enough for a sinner like him.
Despite knowing this, he still couldn’t help but feel sad inside.
"When that time comes, I hope you can love me as much as you loved Aiden back then," Sebastian said. "I’m willing to wait, even if it will take a hundred years."
Winter hugged his arm as they walked together. She knew it was unfair for Sebastian because his love was just as sweet as Aiden’s.
However, whenever she thought about Aiden and Sebastian, she realized that she loved the former a little bit more.
Was it because she lost Aiden prematurely?
Or was it because of Sebastian’s sin in their previous lives?
Winter wasn’t so sure either.
"Do you ever think about finding another woman?" Winter asked.
"No. I have you," Sebastian replied immediately. "I told you in this life, I will fix everything and stay by your side."
"But what if you don’t have to?" Winter looked at her husband. "What if I told you that your sin has been washed away, and now you can freely find your path in this world?"
