Chapter 363: Vampire Prince

"Lord Soylard, the task you entrusted to me has been completed."

"All done? Well done. This time, how many souls have you acquired?"

"Exactly fifty, people are becoming more degenerate. With just a little temptation, they willingly trade their souls for those illusory things."

"Indeed, go and rest for three days, then find another hundred souls. I still need to prepare the magic."

"But my lord, you swore that if I could find fifty souls, you would increase my power by a rank. However..."

"Did I say when?"

"My lord, I beg you. In three months, I will have to face an attack from the Vampire Hunters on my earthly abode. My current power is not enough..."

"I never break my sworn promises, so there’s no need to say more. This time I promise you, when you retrieve another one hundred souls, I will enhance your power on the night of the full moon."

"Thank you, my lord."

Soylard turned and went to the back of his palace where many other vampires resided—all female. There were all races from children to young women, with white skin, yellow skin, and black skin. He quietly walked through the hall full of "her," not glancing at them, and went straight to his library.

On the wall of his library, using a large X-shaped rack, was bound a dying female angel.

"I’ve come to see you again, that little fellow did a great job, he brought me fifty souls today. Fresh and delightful, some of them are souls of innocent children, that taste... Miss Angel, would you like to try some?"

The angel struggled to lift her head, looking through her disheveled hair at the vampire in front of her. He was sitting in a purple-red wooden soft chair, holding a glass of blood-colored wine, watching her. The wine glass gently swirled, and the bright red liquid inside spun as well.

By his hand was a delicate golden vial, engraved with silvery-white runes and adorned with two prominent cross symbols.

He gently picked up the vial, removed the cork, and a small white Light Sphere rolled out, plopping into the waiting wine glass below, slowly sinking into the crimson surface.

He drank it all in one go, smiling at the angel opposite him, without saying another word, turned, and left with the vial.

The room was left with only a powerless struggling female angel on the rack, who stared intently at the direction of his departure with eyes full of scorn and pity, feathers scattered on the floor, lightly fluttering...

"Did I say which full moon?"

"I never break my sworn promises, so there’s no need to say more. This time I promise you, when you retrieve another two hundred souls, I shall enhance your power on the full moon night after you return."

"Thank you... Thank you, my... lord."

He returned again to the library where the angel was held, ignoring the covetous glances of the women outside. They all used to cling to him, begging him to grant them the immortality of a vampire. He agreed and fulfilled it. However, vampires owned by a master cannot resist their owner. These women stayed in this courtyard forever, unable to leave.

Immortality comes with the burden of solitude.

He looked at the angel on the rack, shaking the golden vial in his hand: "The thing you angels use to guide souls is indeed useful. After using it, everyone thinks they’ve reached heaven, but instead, they’ve come to me." freёwebnoѵel.com
