Mage Manual-Chapter 1311 - 956: Unforgettable Memories (Part 2)
"Aunt Bojin, you’re such a gossip..."
Harvey just wanted to take off the pendant, but seeing this, he quietly put it back on.
Ash sighed and slid down the seat. He turned his head and saw Filly blushing and clutching the pendant tightly, as if speeding up the process of syncing their thoughts, making him chuckle uncontrollably.
Hearing his laughter, Filly glanced at Ash, but then couldn’t help but smile foolishly back at him.
Feeling himself sliding down a bit, Ash looked for a button to adjust the seat and found the buttons were hidden inside the armrest, as discreet as missile buttons. At this moment, he noticed Nia also sliding down her seat, sitting in an uncomfortable position.
He thought for a moment and then loudly called for a staff member to come in and ask where the button to adjust the seat was, and how to adjust it. After the staff member left, Ash saw that Nia had already quietly adjusted her seat, now comfortably nestled against the leather backrest.
The Canaan started slowly, and after the acceleration phase, the business car was so stable that even water wouldn’t ripple.
Vishi suddenly said, "But Ash, have you really decided?"
"What do you mean?"
"Although it was my suggestion, are you really going to use the Heavenly Kingdom of Souls to break through the Heavenly Curtain of Allstars?"
"Of course," Ash said. "It’s the only way to save the Allstars. As long as the Allstars can remain, our Hell’s Poison can also be delayed. Why do you still have doubts?"
"It may be true for us," Vishi said, "but it may not be the case for you."
Ash lowered his eyes and said calmly, "This conversation ends here."
"Wait!" Filly suddenly stood up. "What does Sister Vishi mean? Why might it not be a good thing for Ash?"
"The master doesn’t allow me to say, so I won’t say," Vishi shrugged.
"Don’t listen to Vishi’s nonsense," Ash said. "The internet is nice here, let’s just play on our phones."
"The logic is simple," Igula suddenly said. "If Ash uses the Heavenly Kingdom of Souls to break through the Heavenly Curtain of Allstars, it means his Heavenly Kingdom of Souls will be exposed to the whole world. You may not understand, but the value of the Heavenly Kingdom of Souls is akin to Ash holding the key to becoming the ruler of the world."
"Not just ordinary mages, even the Divine Lords would covet his Heavenly Kingdom of Souls."
"More importantly, once the Source Angel escapes, he would have thwarted the plan of the Dazzling Star Magic Master and even offended the other four scheming Divine Lords. From a benefit standpoint, he holds immense value to the five Divine Lords; from an emotional standpoint, the five Divine Lords would love nothing more than to consume his flesh and bones."
"There would be no place for him in the five nations. In Hell, Devils are lurking to covet him, in the Heavenly Kingdom, the Divine Lords are cursing him, and heaven and earth offer no shelter, the whole world is an enemy, there’s no peace anywhere."
Igula took a sip of water and said slowly, "To have reached this point as a mage is truly unprecedented."
"Let’s put it this way," Vishi said leisurely. "Back then, when I was slaughtering all living beings, cursed by countless mortals and schemed against by demigods, every step was terrifying. But compared to Ash’s future situation, my past dangers seem like child’s play."
"Compared to offending the five Divine Lords, Hell’s Poison is simply not worth mentioning."
"It’s not that serious," Ash said. "I can still hide in the Heavenly Kingdom of Thousand Wishes."
"By then, would you want to ’implicate’ the Heavenly Kingdom of Thousand Wishes?" Vishi chuckled. "And can you really solve Hell’s Poison? The Dazzling Star Magic Master might give us freedom to enter and exit the Allstars, but would they really sit idly by and watch you, the mastermind, use Mysterious Chains to delay the poison?"
Filly and Nia looked at Ash in shock. They had never considered this... They didn’t even know how dangerous the world outside was, nor did they know that the destruction of Allstars was the wish of countless mages.
Bound to the Source Angel, the Allstars were destined to become a stepping-stone for the wheels of history. By saving the Allstars now, Ash was turning that stepping-stone into a roadblock, stubbornly blocking the advancing wheels of history, naturally inviting a backlash from the tide of history.
"...Then stay in the Allstars!" Filly thought of a solution. "If Ash stays in the Allstars, couldn’t he avoid those dangers?"
"You actually don’t need to save this world," Nia said, wrapping her legs around and hugging them on the seat. "Anyway, he..."
They waited for Ash’s answer, but Ash said nothing, just smiled gently at them, with a hint of apology in his eyes.
Seeing that look, they understood.
Ash would still save the Allstars, but he wouldn’t stay here.
He was saving the Allstars for Filly, for Nia, for Rose, for Igula and Harvey, perhaps even a little for Vishi.
He would return for the Sword Maiden and the Witch, and for all those waiting for him.
Ash turned his head and looked at the Heavenly Curtain of Allstars outside.
Filly clenched the pendant and also looked up at the starry sky.
Nia curled up on the seat, her fisherman’s hat completely covering her face.
Igula closed his eyes and rested.
At that moment, the pendants of the four of them glowed faintly, etching their current scene into the pendants.
"Congratulations to you all."
Vishi said leisurely, "You have successfully created an unforgettable beautiful memory."
...
...
"Hey, hey, isn’t it him?"
"Yes, yes!"
"I didn’t expect it to actually be Mr. Heath! Is he traveling with his girlfriend?"
"But which one is his girlfriend?"
"Mr. Heath’s friends are also good-looking. Let me serve the meal to the handsome blond guy!"
"Wait a minute, how do you know he’s a guy?"
"Let me serve the dark-skinned, curly-haired one, I like that type."
Several attendants chatted as they passed through the carriage connection, suddenly a hand stretched out: "A glass of 100% freshly squeezed juice, please."
"Sure, please wait a moment." The attendant looked down and immediately brightened up: Although wearing a very cheap shirt and jacket, the well-defined and muscular build gave off an impressive aura. The baseball cap pressed on messy blond hair, face stubbled with beard, yet unable to hide the inherent handsome and suave nature. Age had taken away his youthfulness but endowed him with a mature near-sexiness, making the attendant’s heart race.
So many handsome guys on this train!
As the attendant turned away, she made up her mind to place her phone number under the cup and hand it to the handsome blond man. The handsome blond man then peered out and glanced at the door between the business and first-class sections.
Suddenly, his phone rang, and he picked up, "What do you want?"
"Where are you?"
"Traveling."
"Cut it out, where are you?"
"On a high-speed train."
"... Haven’t you had enough of research after so many years? Isn’t the Dazzling Star enough to satisfy your survival instincts? What crap traveling! Come back now!"
"No time."
"Vosloda, I command you in the name of the Night King—"
"My phone’s out of battery."
"Goddammit, at least tell me where you’re going! I’ll come find you!"
"I don’t know either."
"Huh?"
Vosloda hung up the phone. Just as he was about to continue observing, he saw the door open and Filly came out from inside. He immediately shrank back and pulled down the brim of his hat, listening to Filly chat with the attendant: "... please bring a few towels. Oh, by the way, how much weight can the business seat hold? If two people lie down, will it be okay?"
"..." Vosloda’s mouth twitched, and he put on his headphones.
