Chapter 114 - Determined Again

It was now late in the evening. Darkness covered the grounds completely, and the villa appeared slightly ominous in its quietness.

Ophelia had long since finished with the trees around; now, everything appeared orderly and neat, though that somehow added to the uncanniness of this place.

She was inside the house, casting one last look at a certain room on the second floor before heading into the servants' room near the kitchen.

At this moment Cyril finished with his training for today and took a deep breath.

He felt that progress was good today, and his body was stronger than ever. It really felt different when you were exercising under pressure.

"Good work!" Rhamn happily looked at the result of today's practice.

She was done already with Tigris. The mighty tiger currently lay with his limbs stretched in all directions, taking up most of the bed. freewebnσvel.cøm

Then she smiled somewhat suggestively. "Do you think it's about time we fulfilled Morpho's wish?"

Cyril stared at her with some surprise. You can already make another magic creature?

"Mmm," Rhamn hummed with satisfaction. "Just after this practice of yours, I felt a new possibility open up."

Cyril slowly stood up and replied. Don't you think the time is not really suitable right now? We still have to go back to that bar tomorrow morning.

He didn't really feel like going through that process at this moment.

"Alright... Then tomorrow, after we are done with them," Rhamn didn't insist.

She didn't relay this information to Morpho, judging by how calmly the butterfly went to sleep. Probably wishing for it to be a surprise.

Finished for today, Cyril went to see the local bathroom in preparation for sleep.

It wasn't quite as big as the one in the Felling mansion, but it looked rather cozy.

In front of the built-in stone bath, on the wall of soft earthly color, were featured beautiful hand-painted tiles with a floral motif.

The lighting in the room was set through the magic lamp to be dim and relaxing, though it could be adjusted as needed.

This place already had everything that a bath needs, with a sink in the wall, a toilet, a cabinet, and a few mirrors.

Due to its smaller size, it also appeared somewhat more comfortable for Cyril.

"Not bad." Rhamn also nodded in approval.

In his hands he held a somewhat reluctant Tigris. Unlike a real tiger, this fake one didn't have a habit of using a tongue to groom himself.

...

In the morning, Cyril woke up on time without an alarm.

Instead of doing his usual morning routine, he only washed up and sat back on the bed, staring at the still sleepy Tigris.

Right now he was supposed to go back to that bar to help out Jack's group; however, before that, he needed to decide on one thing.

Tigris wasn't really capable of taking part in battles—his movements were too sloppy, his magic too weak.

No matter how Rhamn defended him, that was the truth.

And today he might encounter a fight; after all, the Black Tulip was unlikely just on the roadside somewhere, waiting to be discovered.

So it might be better to leave Tigris at home for now.

Though on the other hand, this tiger has the ability to hide in the shadows, effectively evading any detection. This might prove useful today and lessen the danger he is in.

What do you think? He asked Rhamn.

"...I am also not sure. How about we ask Tigris himself?"

Both of them turned their inquisitive gazes at the mighty tiger.

The magic creature was aware of their considerations, staring at the floor with a layer of gloom all about him.

After a couple of seconds, Tigris raised his head and slowly shook it. His meaning was clear—he will stay at home.

Though Cyril didn't sense any cowardice or evasion from the tiger, he instead saw a strong, renewed determination shining in his eyes.

"Will you stay home and learn in the meantime?" Rhamn asked after reading his mind.

Tigris nodded again. He won't waste this time; instead, he'll use it to become better.

Cyril looked at him with a satisfied smile. "Then I'll leave all the study material I'll have on the table. Good luck to you."

Morpho also fluttered her wings in support, wishing him the best.

Then, after quickly eating breakfast, they left the building, and Tigris cutely waved them goodbye with his paw from the balcony.

Ophelia was seeing them off on the ground. So far it didn't seem like she found out about Cyril's little accident yesterday. At least she didn't show any signs of that during breakfast.

But he had no doubt she would soon. Those knights will definitely notify the Felling family.

We'll see; whatever happens, happens. He shook off any distracting thoughts from his head.

As for the vampire's words. She said she'll come back in a couple of days. So he should be clear for today at least.

"That's right. Right now we are on an adventure," Rhamn wholeheartedly agreed.

...

Without any trouble, he returned to the Hidden Merit bar.

The weather today was better; there were no clouds to obstruct the rising sun, which made Cyril feel slightly more at ease. Vampires were afraid of sunlight after all.

The area around the bar was just as deserted as always. Not one of the people wasting their Sunday on this street was seen anywhere near it.

Cyril calmly pushed open the wooden doors, and a familiar chime of a bell went off in the bar.

"Welcome!" Greeted him with the enthusiastic voice of the bartender. Though the moment the man saw that it was Cyril, he immediately lost his energy.

There was still a bit of time left before their appointed time.

Wanting to stay punctual, Cyril went up to the counter and ordered a glass of juice, unhurriedly drinking it on the bar stool.

While he didn't like the taste of alcohol itself, sitting in this atmosphere was rather pleasant.
