Magnate Tycoon: How Did Simply Enjoying Life Make Me a Male God?-Chapter 71: Wei Jia’s Invitation
Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Wei Jia’s Invitation
In the lobby, Li Jing was preparing to check out and drive back to Celestial Sea City with Huang Jun.
Just as he reached the front desk, he received a message from Wei Jia.
"Li Jing, are you still in Lishui? It’s my birthday today, do you have time to join me for a meal?"
Unexpectedly, Wei Jia sent a message at this moment, Li Jing was a bit surprised and typed back to ask, "I assume you have a lot of people on your birthday, right?"
"I haven’t really celebrated my birthday properly for a long time. Today happens to be when my brother comes over, so I’m giving myself half a day off, let’s have a meal together."
Immediately afterward, the other party sent several pictures. Li Jing thought it might be photos of her, but turned out to be landscape pictures, seemingly of a villa. The yard was quite large, with a swimming pool, a big lawn, a courtyard, and a rockery.
"This is my villa in the Lishui Suburb, the environment is pretty good. We haven’t really talked outside of business venues, have we?"
Li Jing recalled that he had only met Wei Jia during her work hours and indeed hadn’t seen her in a non-work setting.
Without much hesitation, he agreed, "Sure, send me the location, I’ll come over in the afternoon."
Putting down the phone, Li Jing turned around and saw Huang Jun walking briskly with a suitcase: "So, did you finish checking out? Let’s go now."
Thinking about sitting in the passenger seat of Li Jing’s luxury car back to Celestial Sea City soon, Huang Jun couldn’t help but excitedly say: "Let’s go quickly if there’s no problem, I can’t wait to experience the feeling of your car on the highway!"
"Ahem, ahem, ahem..."
Seeing the other party’s excitement, Li Jing coughed a few times and said, "Well... you take the high-speed rail back first, I have something to do in the afternoon."
"?????"
Huang Jun’s smile froze instantly, glaring wide-eyed: "Damn it, you’re not deliberately trying to keep me from sitting in your passenger seat, aren’t you? Didn’t you already finish everything? How do you have something else?"
"I have a friend to meet in the afternoon."
"Friend? Male or female, if it’s male, which male friend do you have that’s closer than me? If it’s female, you can’t leave your brother alone on the high-speed rail for a woman..."
Speaking, Huang Jun felt he wasn’t making a strong enough case and added, "Fine, it’s not a problem for me to take the high-speed rail alone, but Zhang Xinxin, Zhang Ling, and Zhou Li’s matters were all handled, what other woman could there be?"
"You forgot one..."
"Who?" Huang Jun defiantly: "Ugly truth upfront, forget about beautiful women, if it’s just some random woman, you can’t abandon your brother..."
"Wei Jia, you’ve met President Wei before."
"..."
As the words fell, Huang Jun was rendered speechless.
Looking at Li Jing’s somewhat apologetic smile, he took a deep breath and turned sadly around: "Fine! My perspective is too narrow, damn it, you really have a lot of women!"
Moreover, why are they all this caliber of women, the gap between people is really too big."
Seeing the other party leave in a tragic manner, Li Jing was still a bit embarrassed and shouted, "I’ll buy you a ticket for the high-speed rail!"
Upon hearing this, Huang Jun didn’t stop but kept walking, only when he reached the hotel entrance did he suddenly turn around and shout, "I want a business class seat! It’s the only thing that can heal my wounded heart!"
"Alright, alright, business class is already booked."
Seeing Li Jing send a screenshot over, Huang Jun, sitting in business class for the first time, finally showed a hint of a smile: "That’s better, to be fair, the high-speed rail is not more expensive than the Maserati, right?"
...
"Zhe Ming, check this out, how is it?"
In a standalone manor villa in the northern suburb of Lishui City, Wei Jia was wearing a new outfit, looking at herself in the full-length mirror.
A high school-looking teenager curled up on the sofa shifted his gaze from his book to Wei Jia not far away, saying, "Sis, do you have no other clothes besides suits? Isn’t your style too plain? Even ancient emperors had ceremonial, court, regular, and festive dresses, aren’t you tired of these suits every day?"
"How is a suit plain? Suits can be formal or casual, divided by style into Italian, American, and British."
Wei Jia turned and saw the other holding a thick history book again, saying, "If you could spend just a fraction of the thought you put into studying history into understanding suits, you wouldn’t say such things."
"No, I’d rather spend all my energy on my history books, understanding suits is less appealing than Tang or Song attire, I just can’t appreciate your suits."
Wei Zheming remained sprawled on the sofa like a mollusk, with a history book in hand, adjusted his glasses, and continued reading, ignoring Wei Jia.
Seeing this, Wei Jia shook her head helplessly, truly having no way with her brother.
However, after his recent critique, Wei Jia gazing into the mirror at her new suit became less satisfied, and after pondering for a moment, she ultimately took off the jacket, changed into a chiffon blouse and wide-leg pants, the light and loose fabric subtly revealed her rosy skin within, the waistline accentuated her good figure.
"Hmm, this set is alright."
At this point, Wei Zheming lifted his head again, commented on his sister’s outfit, then asked, "Who else is coming today? Usually, besides me, you don’t seem to have anyone accompany you on your birthday."
"There are plenty who want to celebrate your sister’s birthday, but I’ve turned them all down."
Wei Jia, finally satisfied with the outfit as validated, nodded and stopped fussing over her attire, put back on her watch and necklace, calmly saying, "It’s a friend I met in Celestial Sea City, who happens to be in Lishui City this time. I haven’t properly hosted them before, so I’m taking the opportunity to invite them today."
"Friend?"
Wei Zheming caught the key word, adjusted his black-framed glasses, and curiously asked, "Male or female?"
"I thought you were only interested in history."
Wei Jia glancing at his appearance, quipped: "What, you actually like gossip too?"
"Liking history and liking gossip aren’t mutually exclusive, both fulfill a curiosity about human nature."
Wei Zheming, adopting a mature tone, explained, "I not only enjoy hearing modern-day gossip, but I’m even more fascinated by historical figures’ gossip."
Seeing the other’s demeanor, Wei Jia shook her head: "I really don’t know how you came to be so mature and young, if it weren’t for your looks, others might think you’re a middle-aged old man."
"That’s because history has endowed me with a heavy sense of time, this is my unique charm."
Saying this, he sat upright, put down the book, and pursued again, "You haven’t answered yet, is it a male or female friend, even if you don’t tell me, I’ll see later anyway."
"Alright, alright, it’s a guy, what, can’t your sister have male friends?"
"Oh? That’s interesting."
Hearing this, Wei Zheming’s eyes brightened, right hand rubbing his chin, analyzed: "In ancient society, interactions between men and women were often restricted, if a woman suddenly meets a man, it may signify something unusual, such as..."
"Stop your wild analysis, this is modern society, not ancient feudal society, don’t read and turn yourself silly."
Wei Jia interrupted him, then rose intending to go downstairs, only for Wei Zheming to suddenly stand up from the sofa, she frowned: "What’s the matter? Planning to recite a poem?"
"No! There’s the ancient listening to horse hooves, now there’s Zhe Ming hearing cars, I guess your friend has arrived!"
Seeing Wei Zheming rapidly dash for the balcony, Wei Jia found it baffling, followed him, looked outside, and showed a slight surprise.
Outside the courtyard, a blue Maserati parked at the entrance, and the man stepping out was Li Jing.
"This man has striking looks, a tall stature, a casual yet confident demeanor, in ancient times, he’d be a dashing young chivalrous hero roaming the rivers and lakes."
Wei Zheming leaned on the balcony railing, pushed his glasses, half looking curiously, half analyzing: "Sis, such a man may be hard to handle... ouch ouch ouch!"
Before he finished his words, Wei Jia directly twisted his ear to lead him downstairs: "What do you know about handling, I think you’ve gone overboard, hurry up and come with me to greet the guest!"
