Make Them Love Me Or They'll End The World-Chapter 140: The Play.
When Kira left Kentaro and the others to head inside, she didn't go straight to a desk; instead, she walked over to Mr Tachibana, who had been looking at some paperwork. Her steps were sharp and precise, as if she were on the clock for Cradle. Mr Tachibana sensed her presence instantly and looked up.
"Oh, Kira, you're back! How are you? I take it everything is well?" he said with a smile, showing that he was concerned about Kira's absence.
Kira continued to walk, stopping just a couple of feet away from Mr Tachibana's face.
"Yes, I'm fine, thank you for asking," she said. But Mr Tachibana felt like something was going to go down. He took a step back to create some distance, but Kira stepped forward, closing it down.
"Um, can I help you, Kira?" he said softly, his voice carrying a hint of fear.
Kira nodded her head. "Yes, you can, Mr Tachibana. I want you to change it."
Mr Tachibana tilted his head slightly. "Umm, change what, Kira?" he asked.
Kira narrowed her eyes ever so slightly, causing poor Mr Tachibana to jump ever so slightly. "I want you to change the role for the princess, from Tenka to me," she said in a flat voice, but there was a hint of jealousy behind it. Kira was jealous of Tenka and wanted the role for herself.
Mr Tachibana let out a small compassionate smile. He had talked to Sumire and her friends, and they said Tenka had to be the princess, considering Kentaro was the prince. But either way, nothing had been finalised just yet.
"Well, honestly, Kira," he said, gulping, "the majority have voted for Tenka as the princess, so unless you get more people to vote for you, unfortunately, nothing will change." His voice was soft, carrying a hint of sympathy.
Kira's brow furrowed as she bit her lip. "Damn. I need people, ey," she said with a frown.
"Yeah, but don't think that role is the only important role; we still have the antagonist that needs a character," he said, hoping to derail a fight that was bound to happen.
Kira froze and stood up straight, putting her finger to her lip as she thought about that. "Hmm... I won't be able to kiss Kentaro, but maybe I can stop her from kissing him," she thought to herself.
Mr Tachibana watched as Kira went through a whirlwind of ideas before she turned her eyes back to him. He could feel her gaze piercing into his soul before she let off a small smirk. "Very well then, I'll play the fairy, but I want to put a small spin on it, if that's okay?" she said in a flat tone.
Mr Tachibana smiled and sighed with relief. "You can, but please consult the other members first; the team leader, Sumire, will be the one to talk to," he said.
Kira nodded her head before slightly bowing and walking to a desk. Usually, she would sit next to Kentaro, but it seemed there wouldn't be a seat considering how many girls were with him now...
*
Serica...
Yura...
Aria...
The three names he called out as he saw the three girls that the names belonged to: Serica was sitting on the couch, her face soft and shy. It was different from the normal loud Serica, whose face never really stayed the same; she was always expressing something, good or bad.
Yura was sitting on the dining table chair, her legs crossed, along with her arms. She seemed normal from Kentaro's view, but even still, there was an aura of dominance behind her, like a queen waiting for her subject.
Then there was Aria, the girl sitting on the floor. She was playing with her hair as her eyes glanced from Serica to Yura. Even from back here, Kentaro could tell she was scared and worried about the two of them.
As the girls heard the door to the apartment open, they all looked back at Kentaro and Tenka, but with more confused faces than anything. They all looked at each other, then back at them.
"Ummm, is it just me, but wouldn't Serica or Aria come running towards you or something?" Tenka muttered, not breaking eye contact with the girls.
Kentaro gulped. "Yeah, you're right; it's weird. They're just staring at us like we're total strangers?" Kentaro replied.
Yura could see that both Tenka and Kentaro were whispering to each other, and it pissed her off.
"You two! What are you blabbering about? It's infuriating when humans talk about me behind my back, especially if they're right in front of me! Speak your mind and be grateful!" Yura commanded as she stood up, her eyes narrowed, and she gave Kentaro a glare that he hadn't seen in a long time. It was the same glare she had given him the first time they met.
"What the..." Kentaro muttered as he looked at Yura. Tenka stepped forward; she didn't like how Yura spoke to Kentaro. It didn't make any sense. Yura, the same girl who would die for Kentaro, was giving him a glare that would hurt anyone.
"Yura, what the hell? What are you looking at, Kentaro, like that?"
Yura tilted her head, and as she spoke, both Kentaro and Tenka felt their worlds slowing down, and both their hearts started racing with fear and confusion.
"What's wrong with that? I don't know this boy, or either of you, so who the hell are you to speak to me like that, woman..."
"..."
Both Kentaro and Tenka stared at Yura, annoying her even more.
"No, it can't be..." Kentaro muttered.
"Stop staring, boy. Or I'll kill you," Yura said in a sharp tone.
Kentaro moved his gaze away from Yura and then looked over to Serica, but this time, he walked over slowly. "Hey Serica, you remember me, don't you?"
Serica looked at him, her loud nature having disappeared as she regarded him with confusion and fear. She moved back as he stepped closer, completely breaking Kentaro's heart. This felt wrong.
"I'm sorry. I don't know who you are... I'm sorry," Serica softly muttered, her eyes wandering anywhere but Kentaro's.
"NO, this can't be... Even Serica doesn't remember me," Kentaro said, his eyes wide and almost watering.
Serica slid further away from Kentaro, finding him a bit weird. To her, he was a random human who walked over to her, asking if she remembered him, not to mention that he was tearing up.
"Um... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry. I don't know you, honestly, but please could you give me some space?" she said with an apologetic look.
"Damn that Shaula," Tenka muttered as she bit her lip. "She must have wiped their memories; it seems her Sublimation is much more powerful than we thought."
Kentaro walked back, seeing how Serica asked for more space. He didn't know what to say to her, but his mind flashed back to all the moments he'd had with the Serica he knew—the happy, overly lovely touchy Serica—the very albelrine he'd saved. The girl he would do anything to make happy, and vice versa. But now it seemed their love was one-sided...
"Serica..." he muttered. Serica flashed him a small yet awkward smile, still unsure who he was.
Kentaro didn't know how to respond, so he turned to the next girl, Aria, whose eyes had widened the moment Kentaro and Yura had spoken.
"Aria... Do you not remember me? It's me, Kentaro..." He said softly as he took one step closer to Aria. But to his horror, Aria's face didn't change; it was clear she, too, didn't remember Kentaro.
"Shit, shit, shit, shit... Why, why, this is horrible. I can't stand this! Why did it have to be them?" Kentaro muttered under his breath as he turned and walked back to Tenka, dejected, tears running down his face.
Tenka tapped on her comms and asked Haruka about the situation. "It seems Shaula got in here and used her ability to wipe their memories. But if it's reversible, I'm not sure..." Haruka softly said through the comms.
"Sure, this is evil, but even so, I don't think Shaula is evil to the point that their memories are gone forever. This must be some sort of test," Tenka muttered, looking at Kentaro.
"Hmm. You could be right, Commander. But even still, this would make sense regarding the other handicap she was talking about. Maybe this is what she wanted, it would make the play much harder to do?" Haruka suggested.
"It has to be. There's no way that she would do this for no reason," Kentaro shot back.
Tenka nodded, agreeing with Kentaro. "For now, let's get the girls accustomed to their new lives."
Kentaro nodded as he turned back to the girls.
Yura's eyes narrowed. "Before you humans arrived, we all thought it would be best if we stayed here. We don't know why, but we feel comfortable here, so," she said as she walked over and took a seat on Kentaro's couch like she owned the place.
"This will be ours now, and you can move out," she said with an evil smirk.
"What?!" Kentaro and Tenka shouted.
Yura chuckled. "Yes, yes, I understand that might be a bit harsh. Very well, you can sleep on the floor like a dog."
Kentaro could feel his eyebrow twitch. "Dog, huh..." he muttered. "I'd forgotten how you were before becoming so normal and cute," he whispered.
And it seemed his whisper was loud enough.
"Cute?!" Yura shrieked, her face going red.
"It's just one word?" Tenka said, tilting her head at Yura's unnatural reaction.
Yura coughed, trying to compose herself. "Hehehe, I'm not sure why my heart started racing, but either way, be grateful, human." She said, but her cheeks were still pink.
"I guess she still has some memories?" Kentaro said.
Tenka looked at Yura, who had her arms crossed and her eyes closed. "Yep... this is going to be a long play..."
