Male Lead's Canon Fodder Wife-Chapter 1376: Moving ( 1 )
Just as Wu Huning finished her words, Zhao Ya entered the yard and heard her words. She laughed and said, "Eldest sister-in-law, you talk as if those pots and pans appeared out of thin air."
"Father paid a lot of money and effort to get those pots and pans. How thick-skinned can you be, asking for them just because you 'took care' of Father? Not to mention, you didn't take care of Father, which is your duty as a daughter-in-law; you also took Father's food."
"Wu Huning, don't think nobody knows what kind of scheme you are cooking in your fat belly. With my husband and I here, it's useless to use your grandchildren to morally kidnap our father!" she added with a snort.
The moment she heard Zhao Ya's words, Wu Huning's face reddened with anger. She pointed at her and said, "Zhao Ya, you are really something!"
"After the separation, you no longer treat me, your eldest sister-in-law, with any respect! Is this how your Zhao family taught their daughter?"
Hearing her words, Zhao Ya retorted, "Wu Huning, after everything you did to me and my children, do you think I would still respect you? You should go to sleep and keep dreaming!"
"You—"
Before Wu Huning could continue arguing, Song Yun walked over and said, "Enough!"
He then pulled his wife's arm and said, "Haven't you had enough?! Do you think it's not embarrassing enough and want the whole village to know what's going on in our family?"
Seeing the warning in her husband's eyes, Wu Huning finally shut her mouth and glared at Zhao Ya.
Knowing she wouldn't dare do anything with Song Yun around, Zhao Ya rolled her eyes at her eldest sister-in-law but stopped arguing.
Standing beside her, Song Li glanced at his wife and noticed something different—she wasn't as timid as before. She had learned to argue and stand her ground.
Although he wasn't sure whether it was a good or bad change, he still felt relieved. At least now, his wife could protect herself and wouldn't be bullied anymore by his sisters-in-law.
Song Yun turned to his father and said, "Father, I came to help you."
Song Hai, clearly disappointed in his eldest son's family, said, "No need. Just take your wife back and don't let her come out and cause more trouble."
Hearing this, Song Yun felt ashamed. "Father, I'm sorry," he said quietly.
Song Hai shook his head and said with a sigh, "Eldest son, Father doesn't blame you. When the branches grow too dense and spread out, it's time to trim them. Your family has a lot of people—having one person less might be good for you."
"Once I move out, your sons can move into my house. It will be less cramped for you. It's late now—take your wife and go back," he added.
Since his father had spoken so clearly, Song Yun could only pull his wife away and return to their house.
After they had left, Song Li looked at his father with concern. "Father—"
Noticing his third son's worry, Song Hai said, "Don't worry, I'm fine. It's late now, so let's pack up and go."
"Okay."
Although they had said they would take everything, in the end, Song Hai only packed his clothes, mattress, blanket, and a few personal belongings. As for the furniture, he left it behind for Song Yun's family.

While they were packing in the living room, Zhao Ya went to the kitchen and took two pots, one pan, and a wok. She also packed up the food and seasonings that belonged to her father-in-law.
Salt, oil, and sugar were expensive and hard to come by, so she didn't leave any of them behind. After all, the food for the first branch was stored separately in their own house, not in the kitchen. Everything in the kitchen belonged to her father-in-law.
After she finished packing, she also took the utensils and earthen jars. If it weren't for how heavy the water vat was, she would have taken that, too. Unfortunately, she couldn't carry everything by herself.
Just as she was lamenting over the things she had to leave behind, Song Wen arrived with Dong Li.
Seeing them, Song Li was surprised and asked, "Ah Wen, Ah Li, why are you here?"
"Father, my cousin came to help Grandpa move," Song Wen replied with a smile.
Song Li noticed that Dong Li had come on a bicycle with two big carts attached. He realized he must have come after delivering the rice to their house.
"Ah Li, thank you for your help," Song Li said with a smile.
"Uncle, my mother told me to come help Eldest Granduncle move. It's easier if we use a bicycle," Dong Li replied.
"Okay," Song Li nodded.
After Dong Li had parked the bicycle in the yard, they loaded Song Hai's belongings onto the cart. Since he hadn't taken much, his things only filled up half of one cart.
Just as they finished loading, Zhao Ya walked out from the backyard carrying the pots, pan, and wok. Seeing this, Song Wen quickly went to help her.
"Mother, let me do it," he said as he took the things from his mother's hands.
Seeing her son, Zhao Ya asked, "Ah Wen, why are you here?"
"Mother, I came with my cousin to help Grandpa move. My brother is waiting at home."
Hearing her son's words, Zhao Ya nodded and looked at the bicycle. Thinking about the jars in the kitchen, she instructed, "Ah Wen, come with me to the kitchen. There is still a lot of stuff in there."
After he had placed things down, Song Wen followed his mother and helped carry everything out.
With Dong Li's help and the bicycle, they were even able to take the earthen jars. Though they might look worthless, they were incredibly useful for pickling and storing things.
An hour later, they finally finished packing. The Song family carried the bags and bamboo baskets, and they loaded the rest onto the cart.
