The next day–

Misha and I had returned from Dilhade to Aharthern in a hurry.

In order to attend the marriage ceremony.

At the top of the Great Tree of Enyunien, the front of the small castle occupied by Reno was decorated with many flowers. In front of the door, an altar made of clouds was set up. It was dedicated to the ancestors of the spirit race.

In a straight line from there to the other side of the clouds, blue tear flowers formed a path, like a gorgeous carpet.

All the spirits of Aharthern were gathered here, on each side of the tear flower path.

The eight-headed water dragon Lignon, the long snake Epiteo, and many others, who all temporarily assumed a smaller form since their actual bodies were gigantic, were lined up.

And among those countless spirits, we were attending the ceremony as well, as a troupe of traveling entertainers.

Before long, Reno appeared from the other side of the clouds in a pure white dress. And Shin was by her side. Dressed in jet-black armor.

That armor was Eltonica, a spirit known as the Blessed Attire. This spirit, which showed up at felicitous occasions, transformed itself into a ceremonial suit most fitting of its wearer, and bestowed upon them all sorts of divine protections and blessings.

The reason why Eltonica was transformed into a jet-black suit of armor was because it was considered a formal attire for demons when they held wedding ceremonies in this era.

There were no mandatory rules about the color. However, when it came to exchanging vows, I had a preference for black formal outfits.

The black color, untainted by anything. I put my feelings into that color when I made vows that I could never fail to keep, no matter what.

I thought it was a little disproportionate for the wedding ceremony of a spirit to be decorated with all these countless flowers, but Reno said it was perfect for the marriage of a spirit and a demon, and respected the black formal wear. Surely because she knew that Shin respected me, the Demon King of Tyranny, more than anything else.

“Reno has arrived!” (Titi A)

“And Mr. Swordsman too!” (Titi B)

“Wedding~! Wedding~!” (Titi C)

“Congratulations!” (Titi D)

The Titi congratulated Reno and Shin as they flew around and scattered their glittering scales as if to bless them.

The two walked slowly along the tear flower path toward the altar. Perhaps it was due to Reno’s power, but their feet floated slightly in the air, never stepping on the flowers.

“A great blessing to the kind mother who nurtured us, and her strong companion who protected us!” (Lignon)

Water fountains rose up in the corridor of clouds, creating arches along the tear flower path.

This was Lignon, the Great Water Spirit, giving them her blessings.

“Congratulations, Reno!” (Gigadeas)

A gentle breeze blew and swept away the tear flowers. The Spirit of Wind and Thunder Gigadeas gave her blessings as she made the flowers soar into the sky as if to decorate it.

“Congrats! Congrats!” (Cenetello)

The Healing Fireflies Cenetello were flying around while emitting a flickering green light.

They drew a beautiful shining star with the trajectory of their flight.

And that was how all the spirits used their own powers to warmly welcome the couple to their wedding ceremony.

“Congrats! Reno-chan, you look so pretty! And Shin-kun, you look stylish too!” (Eleonore)

Eleonore called out to them.

“…Congra…tulations… Marriage is a good thing…” (Zeshia)

Eleonore and Zeshia used the <Sanctuary Aske> spell to turn the feelings of everyone here into light.

On the other side of the castle, I put a beautiful rainbow bridge.

“So pretty…” Lena muttered.

She was gazing at the rainbow and the newlyweds with a happy expression.

“Sure, it’s pretty, but… Are you sure it was okay to make that…?” Sasha muttered next to me.

“It was the blessings of the spirits that made this ceremony so gorgeous to begin with. So making it a little flashier won’t change anything.” (Anos)

“Is that so? Then shall we join in on the fun?” (Sasha)

When Sasha asked, Misha acquiesced.

The two joined hands and fused their magic formulas together.

“Ice Fireworks.” (Misha)

A magic circle appeared between them, and an ice crystal soared from there and up into the sky. Just when I thought it would burst into sparkles, it bloomed into a large flower in the sky instead.

It looked like an ice crystal, but it was colored like fire, creating a fantastic firework display that remained in the sky for a while.

“Okay then, I’m gonna add a little performance of my own.” Lay declared.

He was wearing a green full-body armor.

Lay stepped out in front of the flower path, and four more people in green full-body armor followed suit.

There was nobody inside of them. They were living armor.

The Armor Spirits Ron Ron. They were holding tree branches in their hands. They were called the Wooden Swords of Blessing. Then, the Ron Ron went straight to Shin.

The latter stepped in front of Reno and drew his iron sword.

Legend had it that if you cut the Wooden Swords of Blessing, you would earn a great amount of good fortune, and if your body was struck by those wooden swords, you would be granted that good fortune.

Either way, it seemed that it was a nuptial tradition among spirits to fight against those wooden swords and earn their blessing.

The four Armor Spirits Ron Ron bravely shouted and lunged toward Shin at the same time, but the latter easily sliced off their wooden swords.

The spirits cheered at that.

This was such a lively wedding.

“Well then, I guess it’s my turn.” (Lay)

Lay, in his armor, headed straight for Shin.

He swung down his Wooden Sword of Blessing on him, and just like before, Shin intercepted it with his iron sword.
