Married To The Dragon Prince Against My Will-Chapter 248: LOOSING CONTROL
"Brother..."
Aurelia’s voice trembled as she called out, her body still sprawled on the cold stone floor.
Shock flickered across her face as she stared up at Alexis, disbelief written plainly in her widened eyes.
She understands that although they haven’t shared much sibling relationship or bond but seeing how he just hurt her for Lumina without thinking twice hurt her so bad.
He did not rush to her side.
Instead, he looked down at her with an expression so cold it sent a chill through everyone present.
"Why in the world," Alexis said slowly, "would you speak to her that way?"
Aurelia swallowed hard.
"Using words that are not worthy of royal blood," he continued. "Do you think being my sister grants you the right to humiliate another royal in front of servants?"
"I... I..." Aurelia stuttered, her lips trembling.
Lumina stood quietly nearby, her head slightly tilted. Then, slowly, a smirk curved her lips.
"And you," Alexis added, his gaze shifting to the maids still kneeling on the ground.
"If you repeat such behavior, do not forget that day will be your last in this palace." Fear spread instantly across their faces.
They exchanged frantic glances before bowing deeply toward Lumina.
"We are sorry, my lady," one of them cried. "It will not happen again."
Lumina did not respond.
"How about they end their job today?" Lumina suggested and he stared at her.
"What?" she fired at him.
"You can’t... My husband will do so."
"You can’t just punish without mercy, and again I am not yours and our judgment act is different."
She merely rolled her eyes slightly as they scrambled to their feet and fled down the corridor, skirts rustling in panic. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Brother," Aurelia called again, pushing herself up and attempting to step closer.
One look from Alexis stopped her cold. Of course, he was furious. Bullying a royal member in front of maids was disgraceful.
Worse, it would reach Ashen’s ears. And Ashen was not a man who forgave easily.
"Apologize to her," Alexis ordered.
Lumina turned her face toward him, brows knitting slightly beneath the blindfold.
She could not understand what game he was playing now, but one thing was clear.
Alexis was supporting her.
And she would not allow that fact to soften her.
"Brother," Aurelia shouted, frustration spilling over. Alexis glared at her as she bit her lip.
"Are you going to do what I asked," he said calmly, "or are you going to continue behaving rudely and make me force you to do it?"
Aurelia scoffed and turned toward Lumina.
"I am sorry," she said stiffly.
Lumina lifted both hands and pressed them lightly to her ears, turning her head away.
"Stella," she said sweetly. "Did you hear anyone speaking just now?"
Stella smirked instantly, her gaze sliding toward Aurelia with open disdain.
"Oh, my lady," Stella replied, grabbing her lady’s hand for support in case any of them planned to hurt her.
"I am not sure I heard anything at all." Aurelia hissed under her breath, fists clenching at her sides.
Her nails dug into her palms as Alexis let out a low, amused smirk.
"I said I am sorry," Aurelia snapped. "And how..." she was about to say when Alexis cleared his throat.
She swallowed hard.
"I hate you both," Aurelia burst out. "And I will not apologize again." Lumina chuckled softly.
"I thought as much," she said. "You were never the type to admit your wrongs."
Aurelia glared at her, helpless fury burning in her eyes. Unable to retaliate, she spun on her heel and stormed away.
Lumina snorted and turned slightly toward Alexis.
"As a crown prince who cannot control his sister," she said calmly, "I wonder what kind of king you will become."
Alexis’s eyes narrowed and she rolled her eyes in return.
"If you expect my respect, forget it. After all, you already believe I would be the uncontrollable one." She added, she wants to let him forget that word, after all he is the one putting ideas in her husband’s head.
He tilted his head slightly, studying her, and turned to Stella.
"Let us leave." Lumina let out and Stella moved immediately, taking Lumina’s hand.
But Alexis stepped forward, blocking her path.
"Let us talk privately." Lumina paused. She wanted to refuse. Every instinct screamed at her to walk away. Yet something held her in place.
"What is so important," she asked coldly, "that you cannot say it here?"
"I saved you," Alexis said. "The least you could do is.."
"She did not apologize," Lumina cut in sharply. "And you did not save me. I would have handled it myself."
He fell silent at once.
"Lumina..."
"Only my husband has the right to call me that," she said firmly. "You will call me Princess or Sister-in-law," she explained and his gaze hardened.
"Princess," he corrected. "Give me the chance to speak with you privately. I promise it will benefit you."
She hesitated, then nodded once.
"Your lady will not be coming," Alexis added, glancing at Stella.
"I don’t leave my lady to go anywhere, not when you hurt her." Alexis glared at her and Stella quickly hid behind her lady.
Lumina could see Alexis was doing everything to control his anger, after all he has the blood of a dragon if not controlled he might lose it.
"Dear Crown Prince, I would like to lay a little warning down, if there is anything you would not touch my patience is hurting my girl."
"Lu..." Lumina seethed with her tongue and he corrected himself instantly.
"Princess.."
Stella smirked at this still hiding behind her lady, "Stella... I would be fine so you can stay back." Stella stared at her lady and she just smiled back.
Having no choice Stella bowed, unwilling to intervene.
"Where," Lumina asked.
"The Coven Room." Her grip tightened on her gown, but she nodded.
They walked in silence and when they reached the door, Stella bowed and watched as Lumina stepped inside.
At its center lay a shallow pool of glowing water, runes carved around its edge.
Alexis stood with his back to her, staring into the surface.
"I wonder," he said slowly, "how you still live while carrying the most abominable power in all four realms."
Lumina stiffened at once, she had remembered Ashen’s warning.
"Whatever is said here," Alexis continued, "will not be told to your husband. Relax. I do not wish for him to break my skull." he let out but she said nothing.
"You are here for revenge, are you not?" Her eyes narrowed beneath the blindfold.
"And what makes you believe that," she shot back.
"Aren’t you the daughter of Elena," he said quietly, turning toward her, "the most powerful Enchantress the realms have ever known," he added as he stepped closer.
"No one could defeat her unless they worked together." Lumina swallowed hard. She could not let him know she could see, nor even speak about her mother when even her husband never asked her anything about it.
"I can feel you coming closer," she said calmly. "Please step away, my husband hates seeing other men around me."
Alexis didn’t say a word until he stopped so close she could feel his breath.
"I asked you a question."
"I do not know what you are talking about," she replied.
"Still lying." he snickered.
Suddenly, his hand seized her waist, pulling her flush against him and her breath hitched.
"What are you doing," she demanded.
"Let me go."
His grip tightened.
Then he whispered, softly, clearly.
"Stars, my light, hear me!..
I, Mother Enchantress,
transfer all my power to you, my daughter!" He slowly stopped staring at her expression.
"Darkness of night, permanent blindness, until your protector arrives!"
Lumina froze as her head snapped up.
"You," she whispered. "You were among those who killed her."
"What do you think," he replied, smirking. Something inside Lumina shattered at once.
"How dare you breathe the same air as me," she screamed. The room exploded as the water in the pool surged violently, rising into the air like blades. Runes flared bright white.
Alexis barely managed to raise a barrier before it shattered under her assault.
"You will pay," Lumina roared, her voice echoing unnaturally.
She moved so fast, slamming him into the wall with pure force.
Blood splattered from his mouth as he crashed down.
He struggled to defend himself, summoning shields, counterspells, barriers.
She tore through them all as light wrapped around her hands and she struck him again and again, fury fueling her magic.
Alexis coughed, blood staining his lips. "You... you have lightning power," he whispered.
But it was more like she lost every sense of hearing, "I will end you," Lumina growled out, raising her hand.
She took one step forward ready to fire but then a force slammed into her.
Her body was thrown backward violently, until her back hit a firm chest.
Pain ripped through her chest as she gasped.
"Ashen," she whispered.
For the first time, he stood between her and another, his power surrounding Alexis protectively.
"Enough," Ashen commanded.
The word struck her like a blade.
"You chose him," she said softly, disbelief cracking her voice.
He did not say a word other than to just stare at his wife, tears burned behind her eyes.
