Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 160: Miss or kiss
They arrived at the enormous, neat, ancient, and gothic Library. Sage burst out laughing in excitement when he saw the massive book shelves.
"Someone could get lost here." She laughed as she looked around the library.
"I am glad you like it, Sage," Arthur said with a small chuckle.
"I love it!" Sage exclaimed quietly as she continued twirling to look around. She might even be able to sleep here. How she wished there was a bed in the library.
She sat on a chair near the fireplace in the Library, where there were a few books. Arthur left the library and returned with a tray of food, meeting Sage, who was engrossed in a book with wide eyes.
"Is that a non fiction?" He inquired as he set the tray of food on the table.
"Yes, it is about a sword, many strong warriors are fighting for the sword," Sage replied, her gaze fixed on the book.
Arthur nodded slowly and thoughtfully.
Sage’s mind was taken off Cyrus for a while as a result of his relief.
"Make sure you eat my lady, and honestly, I had no idea you loved books as much as highness," he concluded with a small laugh.
Sage’s gaze shifted from the book to Arthur.
"I guess I like books because I want to read as much as he does, if not more." Arthur nodded slowly as she said it with a smile.
"Interesting." He laughed.
"Leimpia is the home of Antica’s warriors, but what is a shadow dragon doing here, and what does he have to do with Cyrus?" Sage inquired, and Arthur exhaled deeply.
"Rumor has it that the shadow dragons wiped out the ice dragons, and about Prince Reagan, he is an exiled prince who has been looking after Leimpia for centuries, which is why his majesty always believes that it is in safe hands, well until... General Samuel’s betrayal." Sage nodded slowly with a slight frown as he explained.
"I think their relationship is a little strange." Sage exhaled heavily, dropped the book, and began to eat while Arthur bowed and exited the library.
After all, the extinction of the ice dragons was mysterious, so the rumor could be true. He was friends with River, who uncle was attempting to kill him, so she was not surprised that Cyrus was friends with an exiled prince of Esmond, kingdom of the shadow dragons.
"Cyrus..." She paused, stood up, and walked deep into the library, rubbing her brow as she reflected on Cyrus. Her eyes welled up as she felt lonely; even being surrounded by books didn’t help.
Her stomach rumbled, causing her to gasp, and she groaned in embarrassment as she bumped into a shelf. She turned to see a very old-looking hardcover book in Ice blue. It made her think of Cyrus’ eyes.
"Cyrus.." As she reached out to touch the book, she called out in hushed tones.
"Arrogant parrot misses me." In a curt tone, a deep masculine said.
Sage gasped and turned to face him, her lips unexpectedly meeting his, but it was more like Cyrus kissing her as soon as she turned to face him.
Cyrus cupped her face, coaxing her lips to open up to him, and her eyes widened with surprise.
She realized how much she missed his taste. She closed her eyes and parted her lips, and without giving her a chance to breathe, he slid his tongue into her mouth, sucked, and licked every corner of her mouth hungrily. He had been craving her for a long while. The kiss they shared the other day had affected his concentration during his time out.
He broke the kiss and caressed her lips with his thumbs before gazing into her intoxicated emerald eyes.
"Did you miss me?" He inquired in hushed tones.
"Where were you?" Sage asked immediately, her eyes clearly showing her longing for him.
"I went to clear some things up because it was urgent." Cyrus responded calmly.
"I assumed you were upset with me." His brows raised slightly as she said those words.
Cyrus chuckled deeply, taken aback by her words.
"Why should I be upset with you?"
Her lips parted and her blue slit eyes followed their every move, blinking quickly.
"Because I said to stop..." Her lower lip twitched nervously, and her face flushed.
Cyrus looked at her blankly, his lips twitching.
"I wouldn’t have left you after that sensational kiss if it hadn’t been for the matters... I would have given you much, much, much more." His voice was deep, dark, and hungry, and it ignited a fire in Sage.
"I..I..um..." Sage was speechless, and her face turned bright red.
What was going on with him? He was behaving normally....
She no longer needed her plan because Cyrus had become even more unpredictable.
He was thinking about the problem he needed to solve rather than fleeing from her?
She was overjoyed.
Cyrus’ lips curved with a sly grin, and he caressed Sage’s lips with his thumb.
"Did you miss me or did you miss the kiss?" Sage’s eyes widened in surprise as he asked.
He asked again, this time moving his face closer until their noses touched.
"Miss or kiss?"
"Have you fallen for me?" Sage asked immediately, closed her eyes, and inhaled sharply.
Cyrus smiled, let her go, and took a few steps away from her.
Sage said with a low growl as she slowly opened her eyes. "Please respond."
"You are so arrogant." His voice was calm, but his expression was sly.
"You won’t see me for a few days after today, but you can’t leave Leimpia." His face and voice abruptly merged.
Sage’s displeasure was visible on her face, making Cyrus smirk. He took some towards her, held her hands, and then rested his brow on hers.
"I have so many things to take care of that I promise I won’t go anywhere without your permission again. But, to be honest, I adore the way you yearn for me." Sage was immediately calmed by his soothing voice.
"When are you going to tell me what is going on?" She inquired in hushed tones.
"You shouldn’t be concerned." He gave her assurance.
Sage had a lot of questions, but it wasn’t the right time to ask them. Cyrus moved away and let go of her hands, staring at her lips and doing his best not to crash his lips into hers.
"It is time to go, Cyrus." From behind, Ashton called out.
Sage looked at the demon and smiled, which he returned.
Cyrus’ smile vanished, causing Sage’s spine to freeze. He turned to face Ashton, who nodded and exited the library.
"Arrogant parrot, stay out of trouble." Cyrus said this without looking at her and walked out of the library.
Sage froze, inhaled deeply, and placed her fingers on her lips.
