Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 216: Prophecy
That statement astounded Katherine. She shook her head, stunned. "No, it can’t be Lianna. You told me you killed her."
"I am sure that was Lianna’s voice.. it just changed slightly because she is a statkus mage." Sage panicked and inhaled deeply, placing her hand on her chest to calm herself, but it wasn’t working.
She was terrified and conflicted because she knew Lianna was most likely now in the land of the sea of blood, and it was clear to her that it was Lianna who was calling to Katherine from the land of the sea of blood.
"H.. how did she get connected to you? She was in the castle’s dungeon before I killed her..." Sage didn’t understand why she was so affected, knowing that Lianna was still alive and a statkus obsessed with having her fire core.
"Sage!" Katherine screamed in fear as she saw Sage’s widened eyes turn fiery red and the fire in the fireplace erupted harshly, seemingly threatening to burn down the room.
"Hold her!" When Ashton’s voice rang out in the room, Katherine seized Sage by the shoulders.
Stefan entered the room after Ashton, worried, and rushed to Sage. "Calm down, at this rate, you will bring Cyrus back here." He whispered to her to calm her down, and Katherine released Sage, blasting a force of water at the fire, which instantly vanished.
Sage blinked, her eyes reverted to emerald, and her body trembled. "I... I am all right." He drew her into his arms and inhaled deeply as she whispered.
"Foolish parrot, have you forgotten that you and Cyrus are soulbonded? He can feel your strong emotions, and if you freak out like this with him far away, he may think you are in grave danger and go on the rampage like a mindless beast." Ashton spoke casually as he sat on the couch, one leg on top of the other.
"Lianna is still alive. She is the one who has control over me." Katherine spoke up and sighed deeply.
"I can’t believe we didn’t think about this." In disbelief, Ashton scoffed.
Stefan sighed as he held Sage in his arms, who trembled. He could see why she was feeling this way. After all, Lianna was the one who murdered their mother and deceived her horribly, and at the end of the day, it felt like Lianna was her worst nightmare.
"What makes them so obsessed with her fire core?" Katherine inquired, her voice frustrated.
"Awwwn. "Aren’t you a curious mage?" Ashton teased, glaring at him.
"What are you hiding from us?" Katherine inquired sternly.
"Because those elder mages who were supposed to tell you are all gone." With a mocking smile, Ashton said.
"Gods! You irritate me!" Katherine expressed her displeasure.
"Fuck! You are adorable, but I am already taken." As he finished his words, Ashton brought his tongue to his lips and looked at Stefan, who shook his head and looked away.
"By the way, I am sure you already know why they want it, but you have lost your memories." Ashton added nonchalantly as he sat on the couch, digging his fingers into his hair.
Katherine froze. "Does this mean you don’t know?" She felt compelled to inquire.
"Only Cyrus knows." Stefan spoke up and sighed deeply, relieved that Sage had calmed down. "Aren’t you aware that he wants her fire core as well?"
"And that idiotic prophecy!" Ashton yelled in frustration and jumped out of the couch.
"Prophecy?" Katherine inquired, and Ashton looked at her like a drunken man.
"You have no idea what kind of prophecies revolve in your lives, made by the Gods and goddesses, and occasionally by my darling father." He sat back on the bed, chuckling menacingly. "Only the most important ones will emerge and be displayed to you."
"How well do you know I and Cyrus?" Sage asked abruptly in a harsh tone, and Stefan let her go, watching her as she walked towards Ashton as if she hadn’t had a panic attack earlier.
Ashton’s lip curved into a devious smile. "As much as I can, but I can’t say everything."
"Did you know I met Ioas?" Sage inquired flatly.
"Your energy is very strong today, and everyone can feel it, so yes." Ashton responded.
"Did he say anything to you?" Stefan inquired, his voice worried.
Sage let out a long sigh. "To be honest, I do not believe in prophecies because one of them must say that Cyrus is meant to kill me." She scoffed and turned her gaze to the fireplace, which had lost its fire. "Sadly." She added dully.
"Sage. Did he say anything to you?" This time, Katherine asked, and all eyes were fixed on Sage.
Her lips parted, her eyes flashed fiery red, and the fire lit up the room once more.
"Don’t give it to any of them." Her voice was barely above a whisper. "I shouldn’t give my fire core to Cyrus or the statkus mages."
"Interesting," Ashton hummed, nodded, and shifted his gaze to Stefan, who was now staring him intently. He raised an eyebrow, perplexed as to why the lord was staring at him.
"Do you honestly have no idea why Cyrus wants her fire core?" Stefan inquired solemnly.
"Why would I lie?" Ashton chuckled and sat back on the chair.
Sage, Katherine, and Stefan all stared at him blankly. He was a demon, for goodness sake!
"I have no idea!" He screamed and pursed his lips.
"As if I will ever believe that." Katherine laughed and glared at him.
"Then don’t." Ashton smirked and shut his eyes.
Sage narrowed her eyes at him and sighed deeply. "Ashton," she summoned.
"Hmm?"
"If Cyrus is half a god, why can’t he control his instincts in his demonic state?"
Ashton’s eyes flew open and widened at the question, and Stefan and Katherine looked at her in disbelief.
"You know?!" Ashton exclaimed. "Arugh! Cyrus," He groaned dramatically and Sage stared at him dully.
"Tell me."
