Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 220: Anghel
"Who are you?" Sage asked right away, her senses on high alert because she knew this person was dangerous. Unlike Cyrus, who was half a god, this man was a full god, but she still considered him weak in a way she felt.
"You dear husband is stifling your potentials, little mage," he chuckled quietly.
"I asked you a question." Sage was fearless and demanded an answer right away. The nine-tailed fox in her arms stared at the god with complete lethality.
"I am Anghel, the last son of the first ice god and Aurora, the ice goddess’s brother." Sage scoffed in disbelief as he introduced himself with great pride.
This was Cyrus’ uncle? He gave her the vibes of that cunning demon!
"I thought it was the nine-tailed fox who brought me here." She muttered.
"The guardian beast was probably going to have his usual meals in the mansion’s dungeon, and I have been keeping a close eye on you, so I took advantage of the situation." He mumbled and smiled broadly, which irritated her.
The being in front of her was a thing of exquisite beauty, worthy of his title as a god. But she had a strong feeling something was off with him.
"All right, so why am I here?" Sage inquired, her gaze darting around before returning to him. "What exactly is this place?"
"This is a sacred location where it all happened. Videnia." He responded by pointing to the glowing waterfall.
Sage’s pupils dilated. "Videnia?" Then she turned her attention to the waterfall.
"Do you know why this is the only place where the eternal winter did not reach?"
"How am I to know?" Sage grimaced, her gaze fixed on the waterfall.
"This is the Dragos family’s final resting place." Sage froze when Anghel revealed.
"W.. what?" She stumbled on her words.
"We are not completely in Videnia because only the ice dragon can break through the barrier, but a portion of the outerior land is devoid of ice."
Sage couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She stiffly moved her gaze to Anghel, who wore a charming grin, but she was clearly not in the mood.
"Why are you telling and showing me all of this?" She had to ask.
Anghel smirked and shrugged. "Because it’s not just the Firerian dragons and Statkus mages who are causing you and Cyrus problems. The Firerians want to get rid of Cyrus, but it is obvious that they will fail, so they are wasting their time and focusing on their main target, Celestia, the pure blooded lycans. On the other hand, the Statkus mages’ and Cyrus’ problems are inextricably linked, and that is the gods."
Sage couldn’t believe what she was hearing, and Anghel’s words made sense. "The gods exterminated the ice dragons!" She exclaimed with a whisper.
Anghel chuckled and took a step towards her, but the nine-tailed fox in her arms sharpened his gaze and growled at him making him halt his steps.
"Having a daughter to carry on the legacy is especially rare in every generation, and my mother reigned for a long time before my sister was born, and as soon as she came of age, she was pronnouced the mighty ice goddess by my father, but a month later, she began involving herself with the ice dragons and fell in love with the king. We found out she was pregnant after hearing the news. Knowing that the child was a true abomination and would be killed, Snowflake who was owner by the ice dragon king thar time, created a soul shield in the child that you all refer to as the dark state, and father cursed the child to vanish from existence. Unfortunately, when the child did not vanish, my older brothers decided to take matters into their own hands. The night of the child’s birth was also the night of Videnia’s bloody battle..." Anghel paused and lowered his head.
Sage blinked, her heart racing erratically as she tried to process what he was saying to her. She expected him to continue, but he just stood there silently.
"Is this what Cyrus wants to show me?" Sage asked, swallowing hard.
"I can’t say because the ice dragon is highly unpredictable, and you already know that because he’s soulbonded with you, but he’s still difficult to read." Anghel said, lifting his gaze.
"The soulbond has a limit in that we can’t access each other’s minds when we are far apart." Sage grumbled, and Anghel smiled.
"The winter was unleashed as soon as his cry was heard, and the ice dragon were all killed by my older brothers’ troops, while I who was against their plans was sealed here in Videnia." Sage narrowed her eyes at him as he continued.
"How have you been keeping your eyes on me?" She inquired sternly.
"I have my own ways, and I sensed you from the moment you were born. The Statkus mages portal was opened by your birth."
"Stalker." She scoffed and took a step back from him. "Can you leave now?" Sage inquired.
"I can’t go in either." His lips curled into a sly grin. "There have been attacks on here, and I’ve been dealing with them."
"Which means Cyrus is aware of your presence." Sage’s eyes widened.
Anghel’s voice became stern and intimidating, and Sage took another step back, feeling a great threat from him. "Little mage, he’ll take your life either way, and no one will stop him."
"Keep your distance from me." Sage snarled at him, her heart racing in fear as he drew closer and pressed his face against hers.
"Why don’t I relieve that burden to alleviate the pain of your husband taking your life?" His white eyes flashed brightly as he whispered. "Give me that fire core." He caught her neck and growled through his teeth.
Snowflake growled and jumped onto Anghel’s face, and Anghel let go of Sage, pushing her towards the water behind her.
Sage prepared herself by closing her eyes as she lost her balance and fell backwards, but at that precise moment, she felt a cold grip on her wrist and was pulled hard into an immediate embrace.
"Didn’t I tell you to stay put? You arrogant parrot!"
