Married to the loveless CEO-Chapter 119: A horrible one
"No...no I don’t know him," Silvia responded. "Davian?" Silvia asked.
"Nope, he doesn’t look familiar," Davian answered.
"I see." John replied, collecting the tablet.
"Then I don’t think it was the man that had any ill motive towards you, Mrs Silvia. He must have been hired. We will search for him and have him arrested then we will cough out whoever had hired him," John continued.
"What if the man in the photo isn’t the one who tampered with the car?" Silvia questioned.
"Then we will continue more facial analysis," John answered.
"Well I hope you are able to catch the perpetrators, so that they will pay for their crime. My mother lost her life because of these maniacs!" Davian uttered.
"I promise not to fail, Mr. Randell." John promised.
Leah also paid them a visit;
"Hi Davian," she announced her presence. She knows Davian had told her that he wanted them to stay out of each other’s lives, but she loves this man. She can’t possibly stay out especially now that he was passing through a lot.
"I brought some flowers to refresh the air around you," her smile was so infectious.
She placed the flowers on top of the drawer close to Davian’s bed.
"How are you?" she acted as if Silvia wasn’t in the room at all, well she doesn’t really care if she was.
Silvia just let Leah, throwing a fit wouldn’t help Davian in any way and she really wasn’t in the mood.
"I’m fine," Davian responded.
"Really good to hear," she replied.
"Get well soon okay?" she added and he nodded.
Davian’s eyes went to a calm Silvia, the corner of his lips pulled up in a small smile which disappeared at the same moment it had appeared.
"Why are you here Leah?" Davian asked.
"You don’t even want me here? I’m just here to see you, how you are fairing," she answered.
"I’m sorry Davian," she held his hand with a sincere look in her eyes.
"For all that’s happening and for...your lost," she added.
He just nodded.
"It’s all going to be over real soon," she assured.
"Yes. And whoever is responsible for this will be brought to justice," Silvia butted in. Her eyes met Leah’s.
"Yes. Yes of course." Leah responded.
...
"Now wiggle your hands," Silvia smiled at Davian, who managed to do it.
Davian had really showed great progress from the therapies but his upper body was responding quicker than his lower and it has been concluded that he will undergo surgery to enhance quick recovery.
But not after some while, maybe a few weeks. So for that few weeks before the surgery, Davian would be using an automated chair for movement.
"So good. Now can I have a thumbs up," she added and Davian was able to do it. He does it in a forced and slow manner but it was better than before, better than nothing.
The therapists had assured that it will get better with more medications and therapy. Davian was now able to sit up and move his upper body including his arms. He would be discharged soon and he will prepare for surgery while he was at home.
When he was finally discharged, the first place he decided to go to was the morgue because that was the first thing he wanted to do- To see his mom.
When they got there, they- Because Silvia had accompanied him. She hasn’t really even been to the morgue since she was informed of Mrs Elizabeth’s death.
They were taken to the room where the body was kept after it had been removed from the freezing compartment where all bodies were being preserved.
Davian and Silvia were soon by the body’s side. The body was covered and Davian found it so hard to uncover it. Deep down, he was wishing that this was just a dream.
A horrible one.
He wished it wasn’t his mother’s body that was lying there but the harsh reality finally hit him when he eventually uncovered just the top and saw his mother’s face which was lifeless and pale, her lips so blue.
"No..." he muttered and Silvia’s arms wrapped around his shoulders to comfort him as he broke into tears.
She joined him, she never knew the sight would be this painful- Even to her.
The wake of Mrs Elizabeth was done the following day, it was done at a church and all their friends and families came to pay their last respect.
"Silvia?"
Silvia heard her name when she had gone outside to take some fresh air. She turned to see the voice’s owner.
"Oscar?" she inquired in response.
"In the flesh! Silvia, how are you?" the man asked.
Oscar Mayer, he was a handsome young man and business tycoon and he was Silvia’s long time friend from college. They had attented the same university abroad but were both from Asteria.
While Silvia returned to take over her parents business, Oscar had remained abroad to start his own business as he wasn’t the first son and so wasn’t going to be the sole heir of his father’s company.
She was really surprised to see him, she managed to brighten up and smiled. "I’m fine but what are you doing here? What about you, how are you?"
"I’m fine and I should be asking you that- What are you doing here Silvia? I don’t remember you a devoted church goer. My uncle is one of the priests here and I came to see him," Oscar responded.
"Well, I thought you said you weren’t ever going to come back to Asteria?" Silvia continued.
"I did but, I just decided to come. I’m on a business trip actually and it will take up to a month," he responded.
"What about you Silvia? You haven’t told me what you are doing here?" he smiled at her.
"Well uhm..." Silvia started.
"The wake being organized-"
"Oh, you were acquainted with the deceased?" Oscar questioned.
"Actually, the deceased is my mother in law," Silvia answered.
"Mother in law?" Oscar exclaimed.
"Yes, yes I’m married," Silvia responded, Oscar really didn’t expect that.
"What about you? Are you married now?" she asked.
"Nope not really. I’m still searching for the right one and I’m clearly still very infatuated with my first love," he expressed.
"Well good luck," she responded.
Davian came into their midst, they weren’t too far from the entrance of the church. Silvia had been gone outside for some while so he decided to go check on her.
"Silvia," she heard him call.
"Oh, Davian," she responded turning towards him. His eyes landed on Oscar, she obviously should introduce them.
"Uh Uhm Davian, this is Oscar Mayer my college friend and Oscar- Davian Randell, my husband," Silvia introduced them.
Oscar stared at the man on an automated chair, he obviously couldn’t walk. Did Silvia Reyes really chose to marry this man? He wanted to laugh.
He stretched his hand towards Davian for an handshake but Davian didn’t shake his hand but instead, he glared at the man and his hand.
"Uhm... okay," the man retrieved his hand, embarrassed.
"I should take my leave now, Silvia. It was nice seeing you, I’ll see you around but can I have your number-"
"What do you need my wife’s number for?" Davian asked and both Silvia and Oscar stared at him.
"For-"
"Good bye and farewell Mr. Mayer. My wife’s number is unavailable," Davian cuts him off again, making a migraine to appear on Oscar’s temple.
’What an annoying man!’ Oscar thought.
"Sorry if I offended you, Mr. Davian. I just wanted to get an old friend’s number to catch up on old times but if it’s not okay by you, it’s really okay. I should leave now and sorry for your lost, you have my deepest condolences," Oscar responded.
"Good bye Silvia, see you around," he added.
"You too," she responded and he was gone. Silvia turned to Davian, "What was with that glare Davian?"
"It’s my mother’s wake, can you accord some little respect instead of going round flirting with guys giving them your number," Davian replied.
Silvia was dumbfounded, "That’s sincerely not it. You are just jealous-"
"Is it wrong to be?" he cuts in and her lips pulled up in a smile.
"No. No it’s really cute," she responded.
"Don’t laugh at my plight," he warned and she laughed even more, now he will know how it feels like.
But she stopped laughing anyway.
"Okay, I’m sorry. Let’s go back in," she told and so they did that.
...
Olivia had attended the wake. When she had returned home, Leonard was already home and up in their room.
The last few weeks has been going smoothly, she still couldn’t tell if he had completely forgiven her but she could tell he was slowly starting to warm up to her and she could confidently say they were good.
"I told you I was attending the wake of a friend’s mother. It’s really so sad, how she died," Olivia decided to share with Leo who was reading a book on the bed.
"Check inside the dressing room, at your section... you will see something," Leo easily changed the topic, uninterested in the previous one.
She wished he could at least be less cold to her then she will be able to understand him more and know if he had forgiven her or not, one minute he was warm the next he turns into an iceberg.
She wonders what he kept in the dressing room. With much anticipation and curiosity, she proceeded towards it to check it out.
