Married to the loveless CEO-Chapter 123: Baby steps
"How dare you?! You little b*t-" Colleen was about to slap Olivia but Olivia held her hand.
"You really think I would let you bully me in this house. Well you are wrong," Olivia informed and knocked Colleen’s hand off.
Colleen scoffed.
"I’m not some naive pushover, you think you can do anything to and just get away with it," Olivia continued, she just couldn’t believe how brave and confident she was right now.
"Of course. You are not, you are some sick b*tch who would do anything for the paper," Colleen replied.
"I will just let that insult slide. Excuse me," Olivia was about to leave but Colleen stopped her.
"Hey, isn’t it true? The only reason I’m going easy on you is because of that child you are carrying," Colleen told.
"Was that the reason you came here? To not go easy on me?" Olivia asked. "Scared to live alone my foot," Olivia scoffed and walked away.
Colleen couldn’t believe that woman could get that insolent. Olivia has always been responding calm to all her bickerings and insults, even when she first came to the villa.
So she never expected her to get that bold but that wouldn’t stop Colleen from treating her how she is supposed to be treated, she wouldn’t stop putting that woman in her place.

Davian’s surgery day finally came.
Silvia sat on one of the waiting benches, outside the operating room. Her heart constantly reciting prayers, praying for the surgery to be successful.
Lucas and Becca soon joined in. The head of the medical team performing the surgery finally came out. Silvia stood up almost immediately.
"How did it go Doctor Sebastian?" Silvia asked.
"How is he?" Becca added.
"The operation was successful," the doctor replied.
It was such a relieve to them.
About an hour later, Davian was brought to another room. He was still unconscious though.
"He is doing quite fine. His vitals are okay and he is responding well to treatments. He will wake up soon and his therapies will continue, because the surgery doesn’t determine that he will walk immediately," Sentencia explained, after she had finished checking up on Davian.
"The surgery is just to quicken the duration, I’m sure he will be able to stand soon but walking will take a longer time and a lot of dedication," Sentencia continued.
"Okay."
By the time Davian had woken up, it was just Silvia that was in the room. Ray and Sarah had stopped by but they had all left already.
"Hey," Silvia said as she caressed his hair with her hand.
"Hey," he managed to say and she smiled.
"Thank you. For being so strong for me," Silvia told and she kissed his forehead. This is his third surgery in a roll since she came into his life. All these near death experiences were really overwhelming her, she wouldn’t know what she will do if she loses him.
He smiled, he felt a little too weak to sit up. The breathing aid in a pipe form was connected to his nose to aid his breathing.
"I should thank you too. That night, I thought I would really lose you. Thank you for staying by me all these while, even though I mess up sometimes," Davian replied.
She smiled, "Oh Davian, save your strength. I’m completely out of danger now but you..." Silvia was starting to tear up.
"It’s okay Silvia, I feel fine," I guess.
"I told you, I have nine lives," he added and she chuckled in between tears.
"Your friends had all dropped by earlier. Lucas and Becca waited with me till your surgery was over," she informed and he just nodded.
"So can I walk now?" he asked and she let out a soft chuckle under her breath.
"The surgery doesn’t really determine that, you have to continue with the therapies," Silvia answered.
"Argh, those painful therapies. I was actually looking forward to punching that douchebag Oscar in the face for attempting to kiss my woman," he expressed and she just couldn’t help but laugh.
"It’s not funny Silvia," he groaned.
The next day, Sentencia came to check on Davian again.
"Okay Davian, I’m going to poke your feet. Tell me if you feel anything," she instructed.
"Okay," Davian responded.
Silvia was also in the room.
Sentencia started to poke his feet with a clinical needle, not piercing- But light poking.
"Did you feel that?" Sentencia asked.
"No," Davian answered.
Sentencia continued to poke various sections of his feet, from top to the sides to bottom and even all the toes.
"Ouch," Davian finally reacted and some of his toes moved.
"You felt that right?" Cia beamed.
"Yes, it hurt. You call that poking?" Davian questioned.
"I’m sorry," Sentencia chuckled.
"You have started to regain irritability at these parts. With more therapies, I’m sure you will be able to stand and walk soon," Cia continued.
"Argh, it’s like I’m a baby again," Davian groaned in frustration.
"Don’t put much thought into it Davian, you can do this. Can you try to move at least your toes?" Cia suggested.
Slowly and with a lot of effort, Davian began to move some of his toes. They all smiled with joy, that really brought some light of hope to their hearts.
He started the therapies again soon. He started it once he was feeling much better from the surgery and as soon as he was able to sit up again.
On that day, he was to practice walking with the aid of the therapists.
They helped him stand up and guided him to two metal railings parallel to each other. They placed his hands on it, Davian’s hands gripped on the railings.
It was painful.
"Try to walk now, we will still hold on to you as you do," one of the therapists instructed.
Davian couldn’t even raise a single foot, his face contoured in pain and frustration.
"Take me back! Take me back to the chair!" it hurt real bad.
He can’t...he just can’t do it!- He shook his head.
"Davian..." Silvia who had been in the therapy room all along, went to him as soon as he was brought back to sit on the chair.
"What’s wrong?" she asked but he didn’t respond.
"It’s the pain, ma’am. It’s normal as his spine and waist bone are not completely healed yet," the therapist, James explained.
Silvia nodded and she turned her attention back to Davian who looked so frustrated.
"Davian you don’t have to be so hard on yourself. You didn’t expect to start walking on the first day of therapy-"
"Shut up Silvia!" he cuts her off and Silvia stared at him, so surprised.
"Just shut up! You have no idea how I feel right now, or what I’m going through. You are not the one who lost a mom, you are not the one who is now an orphan! You are not the one who might never be able to walk again, so don’t say you understand because you don’t!" Davian continued.
Silvia stared at him with a pained look on her face. Davian stared back intensely, but slowly his gaze started to soften as he realizes what he had just done.
"I’m... I’m sorry," he apologized.
"I’m so sorry. I’m just...so frustrated right now, I’m sorry I took it out on you," he added.
"You are right! I’m not the one going through what you are going through but I do understand and I do know how you must be feeling.
"Because it’s like I’m sharing in your pain, I feel equal pain seeing you in so much pain and I’m the saddest seeing you in pain. I’m not the one in your shoes right now but let me be, let me be here for you." she elaborated and he nodded his head which was a little bowed.
She squatted in front of him and held his cheeks making him to face her, their eyes met as he did.
"I know this must be hard and painful. So...baby steps, hmm?" she gave him a reassuring smile and soon engulfed him in a hug which he returned.

Leonard just got to work, at his company- Yul enterprises.
"General board and share holders meeting?" Leo questioned, a little surprised.
"Yes Leo," Zane responded.
"Who called for it? My parents are also board members and share holders, this meeting can’t possibly be holding without them. They are out of town," Leo continued.
"The other board members and share holders called for the meeting themselves. It must be a really important issue," Zane replied.
Leonard sighed, then he stood up and started walking away towards the meeting room. Zane trailed behind him.
They got there and all the board members and share holders were already present at the large meeting room.
They all stood up as Leo approaches and they sat back down only after he had already did.
"So, what’s with this impromptu meeting?" Leonard went straight to the point.
"An issue of money laundering has been brought to our notice," one of the board members started.
"More than just that, this is an act of treason to the trust of the share holders of Yul enterprises," a share holder pointed out.
Leonard let out a breath, his elbows rested on the long table as he leaned forward, his fingers intertwined.
"Be specific please, what are you people driving at? And who brought this issue to your notice?" Leo asked.
"I did," Gabriel finally made his grand entry.
"And you are incriminated," he said to Leo and they held each other’s gaze.
