Chapter 112: Chapter 112: How Can You Be So Despicable? (Part 2)

Chloe lowered her face and said nothing.

Not answering is also a kind of answer.

Nathan guessed the truth and his brows furrowed even tighter.

"How could you do such a thing?"

"I..." Chloe sniffled, "I just wanted Ethan Sterling and Seraphina to divorce, I didn’t expect... Caleb Thorne would give up the appeal."

Chloe stepped forward and hugged his waist.

"Brother, I’m really sorry."

"You!"

Nathan wanted to explode, but when he saw Chloe’s tear-streaked face, his heart softened.

He sighed and raised his arm, gently hugging her.

"This time, I forgive you, but... there won’t be a next time."

"Then..." Chloe lifted her face, "How will you explain to Ethan Sterling?"

"I’ll think of a way, see if we can get the case retried." Nathan patted her back, "Come on, let’s go home first."

The siblings walked out of the orchestra together and got in Nathan’s car to leave.

Just as they drove away, Ethan Sterling’s car pulled up on the roadside.

He waved to the driver to signal him to leave first, holding a bouquet, as he stuffed the movie tickets into his pocket, quickly stepping up the stairs.

Arriving at Seraphina’s office, Ethan gently knocked on the door.

No one responded from inside.

Confused, Ethan pushed the door open, only to find an empty office.

He turned around and exited, striding over to the rehearsal room.

He gently pushed the door open and saw Claire practicing, Ethan smiled and walked in.

"Miss Clayton, may I ask... where’s our Seraphina?"

"President Sterling?" Claire turned her face, frowning in confusion, "Seraphina took tonight’s flight, she’s already left early, haven’t you gone to the airport to see her off?"

Tonight’s flight?

Ethan was stunned.

Seraphina hadn’t even told him she’d booked the ticket early.

"When did Seraphina leave?"

"She left a while ago, right?" Claire smiled awkwardly, "I was too busy practicing piano, didn’t notice the time."

Turning around, Ethan grabbed the bouquet and rushed out of the rehearsal room.

He couldn’t understand.

Why Seraphina would do this.

He rushed out of the orchestra, stopped a taxi, opened the door, and sat in the back seat, pulling out his phone to dial Seraphina’s number.

On the other end.

Seraphina heard the sound of her phone, glanced at the screen showing the words "A Husband".

In her ear, Chloe’s voice echoed again.

...

"Then have you thought about why Ethan Sterling cheated, if he truly loved you, would he be with me?"

...

Chloe’s words might be harsh.

But, there was truth in what she said.

If Ethan truly cared about her, how could he be with Chloe.

Thinking of this, a wave of anger rose in Seraphina’s chest.

She hung up the phone and tossed her cellphone onto the passenger seat.

Buzz——

The phone vibrated again, but Seraphina didn’t even glance at it, and she pressed the accelerator.

The Cullinan immediately accelerated, roaring as it turned off the Third Ring Road and sped into the Sovereign Villa District.

She parked the car at the entrance, darted upstairs, pulled out a suitcase, hastily packed a few clothes into it.

Moving so hurriedly, when she dragged the suitcase out, her knee banged hard against the wardrobe doorframe.

Her knee throbbed with pain, Seraphina bent down, rubbing her knee.

Noticed the tassel hanging from the anklet chain on her foot.

That night, when Ethan put the anklet on her foot, she thought it was just male possessiveness.

Now looking back, Ethan must have wanted her to wear the chain to prevent Chloe from seeing it.

Gifted the same thing to both of them, Ethan, oh Ethan, you are so perfunctory, even when picking a gift?

Even if you don’t love me, just like my body, I’ve fulfilled my marital duty.

Why bother doing this?

The more Seraphina thought about it, the angrier she got.

She rolled up her trousers, took out the anklet, trying to pry open the latch.

Panic-stricken, the tiny latch wouldn’t come loose.

Seraphina lost her patience, fiercely tearing off the anklet, tossing it onto the nightstand.

She grabbed the suitcase, picked up her violin, and rushed out of the room.

On the driveway, a taxi had just dropped off a passenger and was ready to leave, Seraphina beckoned to it, stuffed the suitcase into the trunk, and got into the back seat.

"Driver, please, take me to the airport."

The taxi driver started the car, Seraphina leaned back in the seat.

A wave of turbulence hit her stomach, frantically she pulled out a tissue, covering her lips.

"Are you alright?" Hearing her retching sound, the taxi driver turned his face, "Shall I pull over for a moment?"

Seraphina waved her hand at him, lifting her right hand to support her head.

As the taxi drove out of the villa community, it crossed paths with the vehicle Ethan was in just coming in.

He pressed the redial button once again, but still, no one answered.

The taxi arrived near the Thorne Villa, Ethan saw the champagne-colored Cullinan parked by the roadside, quickly paid the fare and jumped out of the car, striding into the villa.

"Seraphina... wife?!"

Rushing all the way upstairs, to Seraphina’s bedroom.

Ethan looked around, noticing the anklet glimmering on the nightstand.

He stepped over, grabbed the anklet from the table to inspect it.

The anklet wasn’t opened, it was directly broken apart.

Ethan realized something was wrong, pocketed the anklet, he redialed Seraphina’s number.

The phone’s ringtone sounded faintly.

Ethan followed the sound, finding Seraphina’s phone left on the Cullinan’s passenger seat.

In her hurried departure, Seraphina hadn’t taken her phone.

Grabbing the car key from the foyer, Ethan opened the door, got into the Cullinan, racing out of the community, heading straight to Jadeston Airport.

Ethan couldn’t understand, didn’t know what exactly happened, causing Seraphina to leave without saying goodbye.

But, his intuition told him, something serious had happened.

Otherwise, Seraphina would never ignore his calls.

He had to find her before she left and get answers.

The golden Cullinan sped along the highway, charging into the airport.

Not caring about any traffic violations, Ethan parked the car on the road, instantly jumped out and dashed into the passenger lounge, heading for the international flight area.

"Seraphina... Seraphina... Seraphina..."

Crying out Seraphina’s name all the way, he searched from one boarding gate to the next.

He caught sight of a familiar figure ahead, he rushed forward and grabbed the person’s arm.

"Seraphina!"

The girl turned to face him, looked him up and down confusedly.

"Sorry, I’ve mistaken you for someone else."

Apologizing to her, Ethan continued striding forward.

His gaze inadvertently swept over the security check channel ahead, noticing Seraphina about to step inside, Ethan quickened his pace, chasing after her.

"Seraphina!"
