Marrying His Nemesis: Kicking My Scumbag Fiancé Away!-Chapter 114: You Can’t Even Compare to a Single Strand of Seraphina Thorne’s Hair (Part 2)
"Ethan, I..." Nathan Foster opened his mouth but didn’t know what to say, "I’m sorry."
"Sorry, huh!" Ethan Sterling let go of Nathan Foster’s collar, "From today on, I have nothing to do with you Foster siblings anymore."
Turning around, Ethan strided towards the hall door.
"Ethan!" Chloe Foster chased after him, "All for Seraphina, you have to be so heartless?"
Ethan turned his face, staring coldly at her.
"Chloe Foster, I’m telling you, in my eyes, you’re not even worth a single strand of Seraphina’s hair."
Turning around, he slammed the door heavily and left.
"Ethan!"
Nathan chased to the door, only to see the car roaring away.
Sighing deeply, he turned around.
Seeing Chloe, who was crouching on the ground with her face covered, Nathan hurried back and supported her.
"Chloe, you..."
"Brother!" Chloe raised her reddened eyes, "Am I really... that unbearable?"
"No, Chloe, you’re not..." Nathan extended his arms and hugged her, "My Chloe is the best girl in the world, no one can compare!"
...
...
On the transoceanic plane.
Seraphina Thorne took the airline meal handed over by the flight attendant. Smelling the food, her stomach churned uncontrollably again.
Putting the food away, she frowned and stood up to the restroom.
After dry heaving several times, she didn’t throw up anything.
When she straightened up, she only felt dizzy and lightheaded.
Knowing she had low blood sugar again, Seraphina used her hand to hold the handle, steadied her mind, and splashed cold water on her face.
With the stimulus of the cold water, she regained a bit of spirit, and opened the restroom door. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Just stepping out, another bout of dizziness hit her, and she staggered, falling towards the ground.
"Careful!" A hand reached out from behind to support her, "Miss, are you okay?"
"I’m fine..."
Seraphina turned her face, wanting to thank the person, but just as she straightened up, her vision went black and she lost consciousness.
"Miss!"
The man who supported her quickly stepped forward and caught her.
By the time Seraphina woke up, it was already more than two hours later.
Opening her eyes, she found herself lying on a comfortable bed in first class.
Startled, Seraphina sat up in a panic.
A hand reached out to steady her shoulder.
"You just had a hypoglycemic faint. I’ve already helped you replenish your sugar levels, but you still might have some cerebral hypoxia. It’s best if you lie down for a while, then get up slowly to avoid dizziness."
The pleasant male voice spoke in Chinese.
Seraphina lay back against the pillow, her gaze falling on the man’s face.
The man looked about twenty-seven or twenty-eight, wearing a clean white shirt, under his short, neat hair was a handsome face with a smile.
Guessing it was him who helped, Seraphina smiled at him gratefully.
"Thank you."
The young man smiled, his tone gentle.
"From your accent, you’re from Jadeston, right? We’re fellow townsfolk, no need to be so polite."
"Sorry, I’ve been taking up your seat for so long." Seraphina propped herself up, "I’ll go back to my seat now."
"This is your seat." The young man explained with a smile, "I upgraded your class, and had the flight attendants bring your luggage as well."
"This... how could I accept this?" Seraphina looked around, picked up her backpack, "How much was it? I’ll repay you."
"Didn’t cost money, it was exchanged with miles." The man winked at her, "I can’t use up all those miles anyway. It’s a waste if I don’t take advantage of the airline’s offer!"
Seraphina couldn’t help but smile slightly, "I’m Seraphina Thorne, may I know your name?"
"I already know. I saw it when I upgraded you." The man gave a bright smile, "Ferris Caldwell, Ferris of great future, Caldwell for excellent success. Unfortunately... it’s a good name, but I’m a poor student."
Seraphina laughed, "You’re really humorous. How could someone who can be a doctor be a poor student?"
Ferris Caldwell gently raised his eyebrows, "How did you know I was a doctor?"
"’Hypoglycemic shock’, ’sugar replenish’... Those are professional terms that non-medical people wouldn’t say."
"So I’ve been exposed?" Ferris Caldwell raised his hand and touched his nose, "Sure enough, professional habit is strong."
Seraphina smiled, "But, it’s my luck to run into a doctor on the plane."
"That’s true." Ferris Caldwell’s expression became serious, "I must criticize you a bit for this. As someone like you with habitual hypoglycemia, you should replenish sugar immediately when you feel unwell. Didn’t your doctor remind you?"
"It’s not the doctor’s fault." Seraphina lowered her eyelashes, "I boarded the plane in a hurry and forgot to bring sugar."
"Then..." Ferris Caldwell picked up a cup of hot chocolate, "It’s free on the plane, so you might as well have it!"
"Thank you!"
Seraphina took the hot chocolate and sipped it gently.
Watching the chocolate in the cup, she couldn’t help but think of Ethan, who promised to make her chocolate every day.
In her mouth, the rich aroma of chocolate melted.
She, however, did not find it sweet, but rather tasted a bit of bitterness.
Ferris Caldwell observed her expression.
"Still dizzy?"
Seraphina gently shook her head.
"Then you must be worrying about something." Ferris Caldwell smiled and tilted his chin, "Drink this cup of chocolate quickly, the sugar and cocoa butter along with caffeine in the chocolate will stimulate the release of dopamine, making you feel happier."
Seraphina didn’t want to keep thinking about her troubles.
"Are you on a business trip or a vacation?"
"Neither, in fact, I’m going to attend a concert. There’s a great concert at the Solara Golden Hall tomorrow afternoon."
"Taking a flight for hours, just for a concert, I didn’t expect Dr. Caldwell to be a classical music enthusiast."
"Absolutely not." Ferris Caldwell chuckled, "That’s just an excuse. The most important thing is to avoid a blind date. How about you? I saw you have a violin, are you going for a concert?"
"Just participating in a competition."
"Competition?" Ferris Caldwell looked carefully at her, "No wonder you looked familiar and your name was familiar too, this year’s Paganini domestic champion... it’s you, right?"
Seraphina smiled softly, counting that as affirmation.
With Ferris Caldwell around, her journey was no longer solitary.
Although Ferris Caldwell didn’t admit to being an enthusiast, he could talk expertly about classical music.
The two of them chatted from concerts to competitions, then to favorite violinists, getting along well.
Unknowingly, the remaining few hours of the journey passed by.
The hotels they booked were not far apart, so they took a taxi into the city together.
When getting out of the car, Ferris specifically helped Seraphina with her luggage.
Feeling indebted, Seraphina couldn’t help but feel guilty.
"If Dr. Caldwell has time, may I treat you to a meal tomorrow?"
Ferris Caldwell did not refuse, and offered his business card.
"Since I have no other plans besides the concert, feel free to contact me any time."
