Chapter 118: Chapter 118: I Can Warm Your Bed (2)

That night, Seraphina slept exceptionally well. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

The next morning, she woke up, yawned, and opened her eyes.

Glancing at the sofa and not seeing Ethan Sterling, Seraphina breathed a sigh of relief.

Turning over, she stretched her arms lazily.

Her hand bumped into something, and Seraphina turned her face in surprise.

In her sight, Ethan curled up his long legs and pitifully slept on the side of the bed, wearing only a thin wool sweater.

She was covered with a blanket and pinned under both of their coats.

Seraphina got up quietly, glanced at Ethan by the side of the bed, frowned, walked around the side of the bed, and pulled the blanket over him.

Just as she was about to straighten up, the man’s arm stretched out and hugged her waist.

Ethan opened his eyes, smiling cunningly, "Feeling sorry for your husband?"

"I just wanted to tidy the bed." Seraphina grasped his arm, stepped back two steps, "Since you’re awake, shouldn’t you be leaving?"

Ethan sat up from the bed, stretching his sore back.

"Wife hungry? How about I treat you to breakfast?"

"No need, the hotel has free breakfast."

Seraphina turned and walked into the bathroom to brush her teeth and wash up.

Ethan also squeezed in, standing beside her.

"Oh, then I’ll eat with you."

Seraphina focused on brushing her teeth, ignoring him.

Ethan remained undisturbed, pulled out a disposable toothbrush from the drawer, and joined her.

After brushing his teeth, he placed the cup on the sink.

Seraphina held onto the door, "Get out, I need to use the toilet."

"It’s not like you haven’t done it in front of me before." Ethan glanced sideways and winked at her, "No worries, hubby doesn’t mind."

Seraphina gritted her teeth in anger, "If you won’t leave, fine, I’ll go!"

"No, no, no!" Ethan grabbed a towel, wiped his face, "I’ll wait for you outside, okay?"

Seeing him leave the bathroom, Seraphina slammed the door in frustration.

Sitting on the toilet, she raised both hands to support her forehead.

A moment later, she got up and walked out of the bathroom.

Ethan stood outside, holding her suitcase.

"Wife, I’ve packed everything for you. How about we move to my place tonight?"

Seraphina ignored him, pulling the suitcase and walking out.

Ethan hurriedly grabbed his coat, chased after her, and snatched her suitcase from her hand.

Following her all the way, he entered the hotel restaurant.

She got food, and so did he.

She sat down, and so did he.

A moment later, he suddenly stood up and returned with a steaming cup of hot chocolate.

Placing the chocolate next to her hand, Ethan smiled and extended his palm to her.

"Wife, I forgot my wallet. Can you lend me a few bucks to pay the bill?"

Seraphina glanced at him sideways, pulled out her wallet without much enthusiasm, and threw it into his hand.

Smiling, Ethan took it, paid at the counter, and slipped her wallet into his pocket on the way back.

Seraphina stretched out her right hand, "Give me back my wallet!"

"We’re married; what’s mine is yours, right?" Ethan smiled, raising his chin, "Drink it while it’s hot, it’ll get cold soon."

Seraphina frowned, glaring at him from across the table, "Are you lying to me again?"

"This time, I’m not!" Ethan stood up, flipping his pocket, "I really forgot my wallet; if you don’t believe me... go ahead and check."

Seraphina continued to eat, not touching the chocolate.

Ethan casually ate his breakfast, "The chocolate was bought with your money. If you don’t drink it... it’ll go to waste."

Seraphina rolled her eyes at him, "I have money, I can do what I want, why should you care?"

Across the table, Ethan just smiled.

If she’s willing to argue with him, it means she’s not as angry anymore.

After breakfast, Seraphina carried her bag out of the restaurant, with Ethan jogging after her, pulling her suitcase.

"Wife, slow down, wait for me."

Seraphina ignored him, quickly walking forward.

She reached a public phone booth and realized her wallet was still with Ethan when she searched her pockets.

"Here." Ethan handed her the phone, "I charged it for you."

Seraphina snatched her phone, walked to the roadside, and pulled out Ferris Caldwell’s business card from her bag.

Seeing Ethan approaching again, she frowned, "I’m making a call, don’t come over."

Ethan stopped a few steps away, raised his hand to cover his ears, "Wife, is this okay?"

Too lazy to deal with him, Seraphina frowned and turned around, using her phone to dial the number on the business card.

A moment later, the call connected.

"Is this Dr. Caldwell? This is Seraphina, which hotel are you staying at? I’ll bring the violin over."

On the phone, Ferris Caldwell sounded puzzled.

"Violin, what violin?"

"It’s the violin you helped me borrow last night?"

"But..." Ferris paused, "I didn’t help you borrow a violin last night! Didn’t you borrow it from someone else?"

"You..." Seraphina was stunned, "You didn’t help me borrow a violin?"

"No, I originally wanted to ask my friend, but he wasn’t in Solara. I ran to several instrument shops, and they were all closed. I had to rush back to find you."

"Oh, then... it’s okay. Sorry to disturb you."

Seraphina hung up and looked down at the violin in her hand.

Yesterday, when the staff handed her the violin, they said it was given by a gentleman.

If it wasn’t Ferris, then who could it be?

The people who knew she was here for the competition, besides Ferris...

Her gaze inadvertently swept over Ethan not far away, and Seraphina paused.

Could it be Ethan!

No, it shouldn’t be him. He wouldn’t know her violin broke, so why would he give her one without reason?

Seeing her hang up the phone, Ethan withdrew his hands covering his ears and smiled at her from a distance.

"Wife, can I come over now?"

Seraphina stood there, still mulling over the matter of the violin, without speaking.

Ethan walked over and stood by her side.

"How about... we find a place to sit down?"

Unable to figure out who sent the violin for now, Seraphina checked the time and extended her right hand to Ethan.

"I need to go to the committee to talk about the performance. Give me back my wallet."

The Paganini Violin Competition, besides the cash prize, also offers an additional reward — the champion will join the association’s orchestra for tours and recordings.

"I don’t have anything else to do, I’ll accompany you."

Ethan flagged down a taxi, opened the back door for her.

Time waits for no one, and Seraphina didn’t bother to argue, she slipped into the backseat, while Ethan sat beside her, and used English to tell the driver the destination.

The two of them arrived at the committee office, Seraphina went in to find Professor David to discuss the relevant matters.

Ethan waited for her outside the door.

When Seraphina came out, he greeted her with a smile.

"Now that the business is done, can we find a place to have a good chat?"

Seraphina pulled out her ticket from her bag and waved it at him.

"I’ve already booked a return flight for this afternoon; if you have any respect for me, give me back my wallet."

Ethan looked at the ticket in her hand, "Then let me take you to the airport, I have to go back too, we’re headed the same way, is that okay?"

Seraphina observed his bloodshot eyes and sighed softly.

"Let’s go!"

Ethan hailed a taxi, took her to the airport, helped her check in her luggage, and escorted her to the boarding gate.

"I know you’re still mad at me. I admit I’ve deceived you and done things that made you uncomfortable, but there’s one thing I’ve never lied about."

Handing her the violin, Ethan spoke solemnly.

"Seraphina, my feelings for you are genuine. I hope you seriously consider on the plane if you really want to divorce me."
