Martial Era: Starting With The Strongest Talent-Chapter 168: Saint Badge
The pressure coming from that man...
Was only that of a Profound Apprentice.
Yet, elite agents were falling one after another.
Wind blades tore through their formations.
Bodies slammed into walls.
Reliance-induced corpses rushed the intruder in waves.
Only to be cut down just as quickly.
The creatures’ star power reduction waves attacks should have slowed any opponent.
Even powerful martial artists struggled against them.
But the masked figure?
He ignored the attacks completely.
Like they were nothing.
Another corpse lunged.
The scythe flashed and the monster was split cleanly in half.
Rama Syx felt a chill crawl up his spine.
That’s impossible.
A Profound Apprentice should never be able to overpower this many agents.
Not to mention Reliance corpses.
And yet, that was exactly what was happening.
Syx clenched the railing tightly.
His mind ran through every possibility.
But none of it made sense.
There was only one question left in his mind.
Who the hell is that?
*****
Waves of Disable slammed into Adam.
The Reliance-induced corpses surrounded him, their corrupted energy washing over his body again and again.
They were trying to drain his Star Power.
Trying to weaken him.
But it didn’t work.
The creatures only carried a diluted byproduct of the affinity.
Adam, on the other hand, held the real thing.
Their attacks slid off him like harmless waves.
His Star Power remained completely stable, as Adam moved through the battlefield without slowing down.
One corpse lunged.
His scythe flashed.
Two halves dropped to the ground.
Another charged from the side.
Adam pivoted and cut through its neck before it could even reach him.
Notifications flickered briefly across his vision as existence accumulated.
But he didn’t stop moving.
The Family agents were far more troublesome.
They were all Profound experts.
Veterans.
Trained killers.
Each of them carried unique techniques and specialized conduits.
Blades of flame.
Chains of energy.
Binding techniques.
They threw everything they had at him, but Adam broke through all of it.
Wind tore their attacks apart.
His scythe moved like a storm.
Every swing harvested another life.
Like a grim reaper walking through a field.
Some agents tried to flee but Bone erupted from the ground and bone Spears shot upward with violent force.
Those who attempted to escape were impaled mid-run.
Bodies hung suspended in the air like grotesque banners surrounding the facility.
Meanwhile, Adam continued cutting down the Reliance corpses.
Without their Star Power suppression ability...
They were nothing.
Just mindless monsters.
Adam exploited that weakness without hesitation.
One after another—
They fell.
Then....
Something massive crashed into the battlefield.
BOOM!
Adam immediately leapt back, as dust exploded across the ground.
A figure landed where he had been standing seconds earlier.
The dust slowly settled.
Revealing Rama Syx.
The Profound Lord had finally decided to step in.
****
Rama Syx landed heavily on the battlefield.
Dust rolled across the ground as he slowly straightened.
His gaze locked onto Adam and neither of them spoke.
Words weren’t necessary.
Syx had already finished observing the intruder.
Now it was time to act.
His Profound Spirit erupted behind him.
Power surged through his body as he activated his E rank Special Talent.
His skin hardened instantly, turning gray and rough like stone.
A massive battle axe materialized in his hands and without hesitation, Syx charged.
But he wasn’t reckless.
He had been watching the masked intruder fight.
Analyzing and breaking down every detail.
First, the scythe.
It was a powerful conduit.
Possibly rare.
Second, that strange wind affinity.
It was not normal wind, since it carried traces of death.
Possibly a hybrid attribute.
That was dangerous.
Third, the bone ability.
A special talent capable of generating bone constructs.
Syx was confident.
He had figured out the intruder’s tricks.
Which meant this fight was already decided.
He closed the distance instantly.
The axe swung down with crushing force.
Then,
Something was wrong.
His power suddenly drained, as Syx’s pupils shrank.
But that wasn’t even the worst part.
Lightning exploded across the intruder’s body.
Crystalline armor formed over his limbs.
Syx’s instincts screamed but it was already too late.
A blade of wind flashed across the battlefield and Syx’s body was split in half.
His upper half continued forward for a brief second.
Then gravity caught it.
The lower half collapsed to the ground.
The Profound Lord was dead.
Adam didn’t even look at the corpse.
He moved immediately.
Time was limited.
Family agents still remained inside the compound.
Wind blades cut through the remaining enemies.
Bone spears pinned down those who tried to flee and within minutes, the battlefield went silent.
Adam stood among the bodies, as he activated Connect again.
Every hostile signature was gone.
Except two.
A single Reliance-induced corpse.
And a woman.
She walked toward him slowly.
Her expression blank and empty.
In her hands was a data device containing a complete copy of the facility’s operations.
Adam had already taken control of her mind earlier.
Once the file was transferred, he removed her head with a single motion.
Adam then picked up the Reliance corpse as it was time to reduce the saturation of the rift to create an exit.
****
Adam quickly began reducing the Rift’s saturation by killing monsters.
He tore through herds of Giant Sheep, cutting them down in waves. Each kill chipped away at the Rift’s saturation level.
And within minutes, the Rift destabilized and an exit began forming.
Before leaving, Adam collected one of the Giant Sheeps.
He planned to equip its talent later.
For now.
There was no time.
Lightning burst across his body, Rapid Charge activated at full power and Adam shot toward the exit.
Moments later...
He stood in the center of the launch event hall.
On top of the Reliance-induced corpse he had brought back.
The entire hall was silent.
Hundreds of eyes locked onto him.
Executives.
Clan elders.
Reporters.
Martial artists.
Even the waiters had frozen in place.
Adam stepped down from the corpse calmly.
And immediately Profound Lords, nine of them in total, including Ross.
Spread out, surrounding Adam from every direction.
The manager of Tristan’s Mission Hall stepped forward slightly.
His voice carried across the hall.
"State your reason for appearing here."
A pause.
"Or face the consequences."
Behind the Lords—
Their Profound Spirits erupted into existence.
Massive manifestations of power.
Pressure flooded the hall instantly.
Guests struggled to breathe.
Several weaker martial artists staggered backward.
But Adam didn’t move.
The pressure didn’t affect him at all.
Instead, he activated Disable and the oppressive force filling the room vanished instantly.
The sudden drop in power stunned the surrounding Lords.
Their Profound Spirits flickered and for a brief moment no one moved.
Until Adam calmly reached into his coat.
And pulled something out.
A Saint Badge.
The moment it appeared, the entire hall froze.
