Martial Saint!-Chapter 1046 - 759: Sweeping Through (Double - )
"I remember there should be an ancient teleportation star gate leading to the Central Continent here as well, though I’m not sure if it’s usable... Alas, once upon a time, the Wizard Civilization established a network of star gates connecting countless multi-planes and the Central Continent. Any place under threat could dispatch an army in a short time, but as the civilization declined, powers fragmented, and too many star gates fell into disrepair, turning planes into isolated islands."
Lu Lina longs for the Golden Age.
She cannot imagine what a magnificent scene it would be with over a thousand legends.
As a foreigner, Lu Chenzhou always thinks of the Great Universe when he sees such scenes.
"Alas..." He also sighs helplessly.
Civilization has its own objective laws.
He gradually understands why the Primordial Ancestor left the Universe and no longer concerns himself with these matters.
Unless the Primordial Ancestor monitors the Great Universe like a robot at all times, civilizations will always rise and fall, cycling endlessly.
Human nature is complex and changeable.
From a God’s-eye view, Lu Chenzhou’s Heart Realm once again sublimates.
The giant tree in the Spiritual World is half golden.
Fortunately, the star gate of the Chick Plane is still usable.
Lu Chenzhou steps in and disappears.
When he opens his eyes again, he is in an underwater ruin.
Here lies a lost Wizard Tower, unattended.
If there were treasures, they would have been scavenged by adventurers.
"Here we are, the Central Continent."
Lu Chenzhou murmurs as he finally arrives at the core of this universe, akin to the Great Wilderness.
This is a place witches dream of controlling.
"Aaron, let’s first go to the Elemental Tower. My mentor is there; she is a Great Element Lord. If we can invite her to act, she might be able to connect us with the powerful Witch Demon from the House of the Dead," Lu Lina says.
"Okay."
Lu Chenzhou and Lu Lina traverse the surface of the sea.
A towering tree silhouette gradually emerges on the horizon.
It stands approximately a million miles high, slightly withered, and devoid of much vitality.
"This is Pandora’s Tree, once the holy tree of the Elf Civilization and a mighty being. Her history predates even the Central Continent. It is said that after the Primordial Ancestor left, Pandora also reached the Supreme and ventured into Endless Chaos, leaving her body behind. It has withstood countless wars, even ravaged by the four Ancient Gods, yet remains standing, which is why the Elemental Tower hides its headquarters within the tree’s world."
"What about the elves?" Lu Chenzhou asks.
"The Elf Civilization was once an ally of humans, but due to the machinations of Ancient Gods, they rebelled and were exiled," Lu Lina sighs.
Before approaching the great tree, a voice is heard: "Who are you?"
"Aaron, a student of the Ethereum Research Institute," Lu Chenzhou replies.
"The entire Ethereum Research Institute was wiped out. Who are you really?" the voice questions.
"Let us enter. I am Lu Lina, once serving under the Lady of the Clear Spring." Lu Lina’s ethereal soul projection appears.
A moment later, a vortex forms at the center of the giant tree, allowing Lu Chenzhou to enter.
"Such tight security, it seems the war situation in the Central Continent isn’t good," Lu Lina worries.
Lu Chenzhou finally meets the mentor’s teacher, a wrinkled, diminutive old woman.
The Great Element Lord of the water element, said to have lived for eight thousand years.
Upon hearing Lu Lina’s story, the Lady of the Clear Spring shakes her head in resignation: "Lu Lina, I cannot save you."
"Teacher, why... I can offer my Ninth Rank magic wand as a price," Lu Lina’s face darkens.
"To save a dying soul and reshape a body without hindering your future cultivation, even selling myself couldn’t gather the required price," the Lady of the Clear Spring smiles bitterly.
"So expensive?" Lu Chenzhou is also shocked.
He merely traversed with his soul. Had his physical body come, he would indeed possess many good things.
Just those Divine Artifacts and Divine Materials alone would be enough to employ assistance.
"I understand, thank you, teacher." Lu Lina shows a look of disappointment.
She smiles at Lu Chenzhou: "Thank you, Aaron, at the very least I can die in the place of my birth, and I have no regrets."
"Mentor, let’s go to the House of the Dead." Lu Chenzhou turns to leave.
After all, Lu Lina is just at the Eighth Level and probably cannot invite someone more powerful to help.
"No need to go, the people of the House of the Dead are very rigid, and even if the price is enough, they might not save your mentor."
Suddenly, a relaxed voice rings out, and a broad-robed elder gently descends.
Lu Lina and the Lady of the Clear Spring’s expressions change slightly, "Greetings, Vice Tower Lord."
Lu Chenzhou’s expression remains the same, but his heart grows vigilant. The aura before him surpasses any Evil God he has encountered.
Perhaps only those like the Blood God whom he hasn’t yet confronted could compare.
Of course, the Blood God and others are suppressed in the Great Universe. If in the stars, they would likely be stronger than this Vice Tower Lord.
After all, the four Ancient Gods can wreak havoc in an era, hardly an easy match.
In the end, Lu Lina was saved.
With the Vice Tower Lord’s intervention, it was no issue.
Compared to the Martial Artist’s fists-on-flesh methods, these spellcasters have far too many means, and Lu Chenzhou has gained much insight.
Lu Lina looks at her brand-new body. After adapting, she feels a bit anxious inside.
"My Lord Tower Master, I... I can’t afford the cost."
She has lived her whole life, yet it’s the first time encountering such a prominent figure at the top of the Universe.
The Vice Tower Lord smiles: "You’ve unearthed Aaron, this genius for us; consider it your price."
Lu Lina is suddenly enlightened, realizing that the Vice Tower Lord saved her also because of Aaron.
She looks at Aaron, feelings inside her swirling with complexity and delight.
Who would have thought that the legendary stories told by minstrels would play out in her life?
