MARVEL: GAME MAKER SYSTEM-Chapter 127: - New Rule
Chapter 127: 127 - New Rule
As everyone reached level 2 by eliminating this Imp camp except Alex, the group decided to kill a few more monsters before returning to the city since that way Alex would be able to level up when he completed the Quest and would reach their level.
In total they played for over 4 hours and only managed to level up one, which for Alex's previous world games, that would be like blasphemy compared to the 40 seconds it usually takes a Player to reach level 2.
But in this world no one cared about it, everyone was so excited about this new world that they even felt it made the game even more fun, making every little amount of XP so important that the feeling of leveling up was that much more exciting .
As time passed, the amount of Players entering ESW increased more and more, even Alex was a little concerned that the cities he selected to be the Players' starting cities would become overcrowded.
He had imagined that such a large amount of Players would play, but he didn't think that the Players wouldn't disconnect anytime soon.
From what he had experienced in Minecraft and Fortnite, despite the games being a lot of fun, Players were still only an average of 6 hours playing, but in ESW Alex saw that there were Players who had been playing for more than 12 hours and did not intend to disconnect so early.
'Am I really going to have to implement this?' Alex wondered worriedly as he looked at a prompt on his computer screen.
Although in other games there were Players who spent a lot of time playing, it wasn't being as exaggerated as in ESW, especially when the time was getting longer and longer to the point that some people even reached 14 hours without disconnecting.
'I really have to do this.' Alex was finally convinced and clicked to confirm.
Suddenly, people who had been playing for over 14 hours saw a message appear in front of them.
[Hello XXXX, you've played for more than 14 hours and we at Mojang are concerned about your health. Staying logged in for so long without eating, drinking water, or moving around in the real world can seriously damage your health, so please log out of the game and come back in a few hours.]
When most of these Players saw this message, they were shocked that so much time had passed and they hadn't even noticed.
Some were even more startled when they saw that it was almost time for them to go to work in real life and quickly logged out of the game grateful for the reminder.
While other Players did not care about the warning and continued playing anyway, until a second message appeared for these people.
[Hello again XXXX, we saw that you have been playing for 15 hours non-stop and we cannot allow your health to be harmed because of our game play. Unfortunately we will have to disconnect you from the game in 10 minutes, in that time please return to a safe city and find a secluded spot so your character is not in danger while you disconnect.]
When the remaining Players saw this message, some had a guilty conscience and did exactly as the message suggested, while others were furious that they were forced to stop playing and wanted to just ignore this message like the previous message, but when they saw the timer 10 minutes down they soon gave up trying to resist and also went to a safe place, as they were afraid of dying and losing a level.
Mainly that after so much time playing, some Players had already reached level 3 and knew how sad it would be to lose that progress.
The news about this warning from Mojang broke when some Players posted the PrintScreen of it on the Oasis Forum.
Even though the company was forcing Players to do something they didn't want to do, this was seen very well by the game's community, as unlike other companies who wanted Players to spend as much time as possible playing their game, Mojang did the opposite, preventing Players from overplaying and affecting their health.
Fortunately the game also rested the Players' bodies as if they were sleeping, while when the Players exited the game they could still live their lives normally without worrying about having lost almost an entire day.
In the posts about this, there were still some voices from Players complaining that this wasn't fair, but Mojang's response was very adamant about this, always stating that Players' safety was always one of their highest priorities and that they would not reverse this decision, which drew even more goodwill from other Players, and even more from the Players' spouse parents who were worried about people they loved getting trapped in a game.
As it was the day after ESW's release, news about the game was splashed all over the newspapers and even appearing on news channels around the world.
[Virtual Reality Game wins the hearts of billions of people around the world.]
[Families that live far away can find each other again in the game.]
[Parents have found a great way to spend time with their children and improve their friendship.]
[Can this game cause any harm?]
All over the world, wherever anyone went, it was possible to find someone talking about the adventure they had in ESW and the things they experienced.
People who didn't know each other well started talking more about what they did and even people who knew each other in ESW got together in the real world to talk and millions of new friendships emerged overnight.
Although Oasis also had this ability, ESW was a new world where people had to fight together and needed each other's help, so the ease of making friends with people looking for groups was very great.
Unlike Fortnite that could be played solo, ESW practically needed a group of people to play together since for an ordinary person, dealing with a monster was already difficult, let alone dealing with groups of monsters, which increased the interaction even more among the Players.
But while many people were happy with the new rule limiting Players' playing time, one person was completely dissatisfied.
Looking at the Oasis Hub that once looked so nice and cool, and now compared to the world of Azeroth has become so commonplace, Hulk sighed in disappointment.
'Hulk just wanted to keep playing… now Hulk has nowhere else to go…' Hulk thought in frustration as he stared at the portal to Azeroth that he couldn't go through for another 9 hours.
Peter and Ned were at school, so Hulk actually got a little lonely in Oasis.
'What should Hulk do now?' Hulk wondered sadly.
Suddenly, Hulk saw something that attracted his attention.
'This building wasn't here before, Hulk doesn't remember that…' Hulk looked at it confused.
Coming closer, Hulk was finally able to read what it was.
