Chapter 114 - 114 : S.WO.R.D And S.H.I.E.L.D
The next day.
The sky was dark, heavy smog lingered in the air, and the cold wind howled outside, making the entire living room shiver.
Finn's eyelids twitched as he slowly opened his eyes, feeling the warmth wrapped around him.
"I actually fell asleep last night... and the movie was still running."
Glancing at the screen still playing in the dimly lit room, Finn carefully adjusted his position, shifting slightly from the embrace before getting up from the couch.
He walked over to the window and looked outside at the quiet and desolate town. Taking a deep breath, he felt the crisp morning air bite at his skin.
"Five o'clock... they're probably still asleep. No one's getting up this early."
Finn yawned, rubbing his eyes as he leaned against the window, letting the cool morning breeze wash over him in an attempt to shake off the drowsiness.
A few moments later, his mind cleared, and his usual focus returned.
"Still early. Might as well perfect that spell."
With a determined nod, Finn turned away from the window and strode toward the study. Before entering, he cast a spell on the door—just as a precaution.
Satisfied with his precautions, he stepped inside and began his work.
The room was instantly illuminated by a radiant golden light, pulsing with a deep, arcane energy. Magic swirled in the air, converging into a concentrated form at the center of the room.
The Dragon Ball that had begun to take shape previously was now flickering in and out of existence, still unstable.
Under the continuous flow of energy, the glow intensified, causing the space around it to ripple. The golden light reflected off the study's walls, as if tiny stars had burst forth, illuminating every shadow.
Slowly, the Dragon Ball solidified, growing more defined under the constant infusion of magic. The intricate star patterns within the orb shimmered, pulsating with power.
"Just a little more..."
Finn gritted his teeth, his expression tightening as he pushed his energy further. It wasn't easy, and the strain was evident in his posture.
Golden magic poured from his palms, striking the Dragon Ball repeatedly, urging it to take form. The energy crackled and surged, each impact creating a thunderous sound that echoed through the room.
If it weren't for the spell he'd cast on the door, the explosion of sound would have easily woken the entire household.
The space, once dim, was now ablaze with golden brilliance. Above Finn's head, faint projections of seven Dragon Balls shimmered into view. If one looked closely, they would see swirling patterns and shifting light coursing through them.
Hours passed, sweat beading on Finn's forehead as he finally ceased his magic.
Despite all his efforts, the Dragon Balls had yet to fully solidify.
They were brighter, more defined—but not complete.
"Tch... Rushing something like this was never going to work."
Finn let out a deep sigh and shook his head.
"Something capable of granting wishes... if it were that easy, it wouldn't be worth the effort."
Before he could continue, a sudden crash outside the study door made him pause.
Finn glanced at the clock and sighed. "Nine o'clock. That means..."
With another sigh, he waved his hand, dispelling the lingering magic and returning the study to its previous state.
Stepping out into the living room, he was greeted by absolute chaos.
On the couch, two witches were locked in a struggle, tugging at each other's hair, bodies pressed closely as they wrestled for dominance. Their disheveled clothes barely clung to their forms, revealing tempting glimpses of smooth skin.
Their legs were tangled, thighs pressing in ways that made Finn's brows twitch involuntarily.
The air was thick with tension, filled with the intoxicating scent of their exertion.
They were too caught up in their fight to notice him.
Finn cleared his throat, "Ahem... shouldn't you two stop?"
The two witches froze mid-struggle before finally acknowledging his presence. Huffing, they quickly untangled themselves, panting as they adjusted their clothing.
"Finn, what's up?" Wanda asked, forcing a casual smile despite her messy hair and wrinkled clothes.
"I heard the commotion. How could I not come out?"
Finn crossed his arms, watching them with mild exasperation.
"Now that you've seen it, how do you feel?" the Dark Witch asked, a teasing smirk playing on her lips as she casually picked up a fallen piece of clothing.
Finn sighed. "You two fight like siblings."
The resemblance between them wasn't just physical—after spending so much time together, their mannerisms were beginning to overlap as well.
"What? Does that make it more exciting for you?" the Dark Witch teased, eyes gleaming with mischief.
"Absolutely not!" Finn shot back immediately.
This woman had a knack for turning everything into something suggestive.

"If you think like that, it's only because your thoughts aren't pure," Wanda chimed in, nodding in mock agreement with her counterpart.
Finn was speechless. When had Wanda started making remarks like this?
Shaking his head, he decided to change the subject. "How's your magic training coming along?"
"It's fine. Ever since she helped me last time, I've gotten better. Especially with shadow manipulation."
Wanda's progress was evident. Her control over her magic was improving rapidly.
The Dark Witch flipped her hair back, wearing a confident smirk. "She needs time to refine it. Mastery doesn't happen overnight."
"Fair enough."
Finn nodded before stretching. "You must be hungry. I'll make breakfast."
"I got this." The Dark Witch cut in, exuding confidence. "You cooked yesterday. It's my turn to show off."
She turned on her heel and headed toward the kitchen, grabbing ingredients from the fridge with practiced ease.
Finn watched her go, curious. "I've never seen her cook before."
"Neither have I," Wanda muttered. "I'm not sure what to expect."
"It'll be interesting to see if she has any talent for it."
Finn chuckled, ruffling Wanda's hair.
"Maybe it'll be terrible."
Wanda pursed her lips, not convinced.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A sudden knock on the door disrupted their conversation.
Wanda frowned. "Who could that be?"
"Only one way to find out."
Finn quickly made his way to the entrance, unlocking and opening the door.
Standing on the porch were two figures—one he immediately recognized as Jimmy Woo from the S.W.O.R.D Bureau. The other, a man he didn't know, but the emblem on his uniform was unmistakable.
S.H.I.E.L.D.
Both agencies had come knocking at the same time.
Finn narrowed his eyes. "What are you doing here?"
Finn frowned slightly. Facing these two organizations, he wasn't in the mood for small talk.
If it was just about some trivial matters, there was no need for discussion.
"So, people from S.W.O.R.D. and S.H.I.E.L.D. are here. Where's Nick Fury? Why don't I see him?"
Wanda appeared behind him with a puzzled expression, glancing around but finding no sign of Fury.
"You two came in asking so many questions right off the bat. Can we go inside and talk?" Jimmy said helplessly.
"I'm an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., sent by the Director," another unfamiliar man introduced himself briefly.
"No. You both showed up unannounced and said nothing of substance, yet you want to come inside? Not happening."
Finn shook his head and refused immediately. "If you have something to say, say it here. Otherwise, leave."
He had no patience for these organizations.
More importantly, there was still a witch inside. If these people got involved, things would become far more complicated than necessary.
He didn't need that headache.
"It's just that we were called to investigate yesterday, but we didn't find anything. What exactly happened?" Jimmy asked, his tone suspicious.
When they arrived at the church, it was already in ruins. No evidence was left behind.
With no other leads, they had to turn to Finn for answers. The situation was serious, and if it wasn't handled properly, there could be major consequences.
"Finn, you're being a little disrespectful. Why did you involve S.W.O.R.D. in this matter?"
Before Finn could respond, a voice crackled over the agent's radio.
Nick Fury.
Finn followed the sound and saw that the voice was coming from the intercom held by the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.
"If you just sent your people here to deliver this bullshit, don't waste my time."
Finn was exasperated.
What did any of this have to do with these organizations?
The answer was obvious—it didn't.
S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn't capable of handling this situation, so now they were playing damage control?
Besides, he had called in S.W.O.R.D. to handle the matter, not S.H.I.E.L.D. And yet, somehow, he was the one being accused of disrespect?
Ridiculous.
"Ask Finn what exactly happened. When we arrived at the church, there were no traces of magic."
The S.H.I.E.L.D. agent relayed Fury's question.
"That's your job to figure out. I'm not S.H.I.E.L.D.'s errand boy. The fact that I even told you there was magic involved was already me doing you a favor."
Finn's voice was calm but firm.
"Ahem, don't get the wrong idea. We're actually here for something else," Jimmy interjected.
"Then get to the point. Don't waste my time."
Finn's patience was wearing thin.
The two agents exchanged glances before finally explaining.
As it turned out, the situation was worse than expected. There had been a series of sleepwalking-related disappearances. The case was becoming increasingly serious, and the higher-ups had ordered an investigation, but they had no real leads.
Coincidentally—or not—S.W.O.R.D. discovered that S.H.I.E.L.D. was also looking into the matter.
Whether it was due to competition or something else, the two organizations decided to work together.
After receiving Finn's report, they rushed to the church, only to find it already destroyed, with no remaining traces of what had transpired. With no other choice, they sought him out, hoping he could provide more details.
"In order to get to the bottom of this, S.W.O.R.D. and S.H.I.E.L.D. are putting everything on the line."
Finn rolled his eyes internally.
Even intelligence agencies were competing for credit now?
What a joke.
"I don't know what's causing those disappearances. That's your job to figure out."
Finn shook his head, uninterested in the matter.
"Don't be like this. This has already triggered a chain reaction. If we don't get answers soon, we're looking at a full-blown crisis."
Jimmy's voice took on a pleading tone. He was convinced that Finn knew something but simply refused to share it.
"That's your problem, not mine."
Finn's expression darkened. "If you keep bothering me, I'll throw you into the ocean to feed the fish."
Click.
He turned and shut the door behind him.
Outside, the two agents sighed, exchanging bitter smiles before leaving.
They didn't doubt Finn's words for a second.
If he wasn't talking, there was nothing they could do about it.
"Finn, isn't S.W.O.R.D. just a subdivision of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Why would they come to you separately?"
Wanda asked, her curiosity piqued.
"When we were at the church, you and I each notified different groups. They probably figured out that I was the one who took down those cultists. Now they think the disappearances are connected."
Finn explained patiently.
"So that's how it is."
Wanda nodded in understanding.
"Forget about them. The witch's breakfast should be ready. Let's eat."
With that, Finn led Wanda into the living room. Just as he expected, a lavish breakfast spread awaited them.
"I could smell the food from a mile away. You've got some skills."
Finn sat down and couldn't help but compliment the meal.
"See? I told you my cooking is good. Try it."
The Dark Witch handed him a bowl.
"What about mine?"
Wanda pouted.
"You said you'd get it yourself, didn't you?"
The Dark Witch smirked as she took a bite of her own food.
Wanda was momentarily speechless, her face falling.
Served her right.
"You'll pay for this."
Muttering under her breath, Wanda got up and walked to the kitchen.
Moments later, she returned with a bowl of warm porridge.
"Eat slowly. It's hot."
Finn warned as Wanda prepared to take a bite.
"No need to remind her. She'll figure it out herself."
The Dark Witch smirked.
"You—!"
Wanda glared at her rival before turning to Finn.
"Blow on it for me."
"Finn, you can blow on mine too."
The Dark Witch chimed in, refusing to back down.
The two women were like two volcanoes on the verge of eruption.
"Can you both just eat normally? It's too early for this nonsense."
Finn sighed, rubbing his temple.
Hearing his frustration, both women glared at each other before reluctantly dropping the argument and eating quietly.
Finn exhaled in relief.
Sometimes, he wondered—what would happen if neither of them listened to him?
He didn't want to find out.
Time passed.
As they finished their meal, a sense of calm finally settled in.
"Finn, we've been stuck inside for days. How about a trip to the hot springs?"
The Dark Witch suggested, eyes gleaming with anticipation.
"The hot springs...? Actually, my back's been aching. That doesn't sound like a bad idea."
Wanda stretched, considering it.
"That could work..."
Finn murmured, realizing he hadn't had a good soak in a long time.
If the Dark Witch hadn't mentioned it, he might have completely forgotten.
