Chapter 53 - 53 : Wanda is Shocked
---
Buzz!
The mass of black aura in his hand intensified, distorting the air around him. Items on the table in front of him trembled as the energy crackled in his grasp.
Suddenly, the lights flickered violently.
"...~"
Wanda, who was sitting next to him, stared at Finn's left hand, the one exuding the black aura. Her voice trembled as she spoke, "What...?"
Finn, hearing her voice, glanced at his left hand. In that moment, he realized something was wrong. There was a strange energy swirling around his hand.
"What's going on? How is this possible?"
As he raised his hand, his pupils dilated. The mass of black aura was definitely linked to the Darkhold. Finn had been reading from the book earlier, and now, he could feel the magic he had subconsciously activated.
"How... How could this be?" Finn thought to himself, his mind racing.
He had only read from the Darkhold a second time. Yet, the incantation worked perfectly the first time! Was he really endowed with such extraordinary abilities?
No, wait. The real issue wasn't his powers, but that he had used magic in front of Wanda. There was no way to escape this now!
A wave of dizziness hit him as he realized the implications. How was he going to explain this?
While he'd already admitted to Wanda that he was a magician the previous night, she hadn't fully believed him. She had brushed it off, almost as if she hadn't taken him seriously.
"Wanda, let me explain..." Finn took a deep breath, preparing himself to explain.
But before he could continue, Wanda, who was hugging him, looked up at him with wide, surprised eyes. "Finn, you're a magical genius!"
"???"
Finn was caught off guard. He could feel her soft body in his arms, and he stared at her in disbelief. "Aren't you... angry?"
"My boyfriend is a magical genius, both clever and strong! Why would I be angry?" Wanda responded, her voice light and filled with admiration.
"..."
Finn was left speechless, completely thrown off by her reaction.
"I forgot, this is your first encounter with real magic," Wanda mused, sitting up straight and pulling him to face her. She reached out to gently touch the dissipating black aura on his left hand. "When you were reciting the incantation earlier, you must've activated the spell. That's why this happened."
"You think I have some extraordinary ability, that I've mastered magic from the Darkhold?" Finn questioned, his thoughts clearing up.
Wanda nodded in earnest, her gaze unwavering. "That's right! You've got incredible talent. It's obvious you're really gifted with magic!"
Finn was taken aback. So, she thought he had an innate magical ability. That made sense to him now.
But why hadn't the system given any hints or guidance? Wanda's reaction was different from Agatha's, who had acted as if she knew something was up. Finn wondered if the Darkhold itself was the source of the confusion.
"Isn't it obvious? You just read it once and learned it instantly," Wanda added, looking at him with a mix of amazement and expectation.
"No, I just felt... a little off," Finn replied, his voice distracted. He coughed lightly to clear his throat, realizing he hadn't reacted the way he thought he should have.
He hadn't been calm; he had been thrown off by the situation. His mind had scrambled to think of excuses, but now, Wanda's unexpected reaction had thrown him for a loop.
"Finn, your life will never be the same again!" Wanda's voice had a bright, cheerful edge to it, clearly excited for him.
Then, teasing, she added, "Maybe you should ask that Nick Fury of yours if I can join the Avengers."
Finn chuckled, but a subtle hint of concern appeared in his eyes. "Let's not kid ourselves. The Avengers today are no longer like they used to be."
Wanda's smile faded slightly as she nodded, understanding his words. "I know... Things have changed, haven't they?"
Finn shook his head, a playful smirk on his face. "Just kidding. Let's focus on the Darkhold."
"Hold on," Wanda interrupted. She pressed her hand against the page Finn was about to turn, a teasing smirk on her face. "I'm not as evil as you. I haven't finished reading the first Chapter. Let me read it a few more times first."
Finn raised an eyebrow. "Read it a few more times?" He frowned slightly, realizing just how deep into this book Wanda had fallen.
"If Dr. Strange heard you say that, I'm sure his mind would be blown," Finn thought, imagining the Sorcerer Supreme's reaction.
"I... think I've figured it out too," Wanda remarked, holding up her left hand, and a mass of black aura mixed with red energy materialized, swirling in her palm.
The power radiating from the combination of black and crimson light was overwhelming. The surrounding air shifted and cracked, and the temperature in the room dropped several degrees.
"As expected of my witch," Finn muttered, admiring her power. He couldn't help but pinch her cheek in playful admiration, enjoying how soft and smooth it was beneath his touch.
Wanda laughed lightly, the atmosphere between them becoming warm and affectionate. "Let's read the next page."
"I feel like this Darkhold perfectly aligns with Chaos Magic." Wanda's eyes were alight with excitement as she looked at the spell in her palm, reflecting on the surge of power she had just experienced. "It enhances my Chaos Magic, and the two of them complement each other perfectly, like they were meant to be together."
Finn nodded, realization dawning on him. "Maybe that's why Agatha wanted to steal your Chaos Magic. She was after this book to become more powerful."
Wanda's eyes darkened slightly at the thought. "Agatha knew what she was after. She was trying to get Chaos Magic to learn from this book."
The realization hit Wanda hard. She looked down at the swirling energy in her hand, feeling a deep, undeniable power coursing through her. "For the first time, I can truly feel how strong my magic is. It's clear that many people would kill to have this power."
Finn smiled, placing his hand on her shoulder. "Wanda, you're going to become the most powerful witch in the world."
Wanda smiled back, warmth in her eyes. "I don't need to be the most powerful. I just want to be with you, Finn."
He grinned. "And I'll always be here for you."
After a pause, they returned their attention to the book. Finn turned the page, but he could tell that this next Chapter would be even harder than the first. The magic would only become more complex, and the abilities described in the following pages were sure to be even stranger. After all, the book had been written by Sithorne, an ancient god whose thinking was almost incomprehensible.
But as Finn skimmed the page, he understood it perfectly. Every word, every spell made sense to him.
Wanda stared at him, wide-eyed, before shaking her head. "Finn, you're a real monster."
Finn gave her a teasing smile. "It's just a book. Anyone could do it."
But Wanda was still in awe. "No, you're something else. You've never read this book before, and yet you've mastered it already!"
She looked at him in admiration, truly captivated. After all, there was no woman who wouldn't be impressed by a man who had both strength and brilliance. Especially when that man was someone she deeply cared about.
Finn reached over and knocked her lightly on the head. "Now, now, what are you reading? Students who don't follow the rules must be punished!"
Wanda met his gaze, and suddenly her thoughts wandered. *Teacher and student...* Her mind briefly drifted to an odd post she had seen before.
Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she tried to refocus. "What are you doing, Finn?"
---
"What's wrong with you?"
Finn was a little puzzled, as if he hadn't done anything.
Now he just wanted to teach the witch well so that she could grow quickly.
After all, one thing is another, and there would be opportunities for that in the future.
"Nothing."
Wanda realized that she seemed to have misunderstood him. This man really just wanted to study hard.
Immediately ashamed of the dirty thoughts in her heart, she blushed and lowered her head to read the magic book.
Maybe it was a nasty idea that came to her inadvertently.
It made her a bit distracted, and she stared at the book in a daze for a long time.
"Wanda, are you distracted?"
Finn sensed her mood swings and couldn't help reminding her.
"No... no."
Wanda shook her head.
"It's actually very simple, Wanda. You have to remember that your greatest advantage is Chaos Magic, which is why Agatha wants to steal it."
Finn saw her struggle and continued, "So you have to develop your advantages to the maximum. Spells are just a support for you. You have to understand that now, you're not practicing the Darkhold, but practicing your Chaos Magic."
"As long as you keep making the Chaos Magic in your body stronger, you will be truly powerful. The Darkhold is just an auxiliary tool."
He could see that Wanda hadn't truly realized how vast Chaos Magic was. It spanned the entire multiverse. What a terrifying power!
If one could cultivate it to its extreme, breaking through a single universe would only be a matter of time.
"Practice Chaos Magic..."
"Why didn't I think of that..." Wanda said, her eyes lighting up as she looked at Finn in surprise. "Finn, you're really amazing."
Finn, exposed to magic for the first time, had such a deep understanding. He even understood Chaos Magic better than she did.
"I used to read fantasy novels," Finn said, touching his nose guiltily, jokingly making an excuse.
"Now I know how to practice."
Fortunately, the pure Wanda didn't think too much about it. Once the doubts in her heart were solved, she continued to read the magic book and resumed her studies.
Time passed quickly.
More than an hour later, Wanda, who was sitting cross-legged on a chair, slowly opened her eyes. A scarlet gleam flashed through them, making her fair and pretty face look alluring and charming.
"Call..."
She parted her red lips lightly, exhaling a faint mist.
"How did you learn it?" Finn pinched the witch's milky face and asked.
"Uh-huh."
Wanda nodded confidently.
Then she raised her head and kissed Finn on the lips. "Your reward."
"...that's all?" Finn frowned slightly, pretending to be dissatisfied.
"When the clothes arrive, I'll make up for it. And... I'm not ready yet."
Wanda lowered her head, blushing, and spoke in a voice almost like a whisper.
"Fair enough, but should we go to bed now?"
Finn asked as he hugged the witch's slender waist, glancing at the clock on the wall. "It's already half-past nine."
"No, I want to keep studying."
Wanda raised her eyebrows and said seriously.
"We'll study together tomorrow, and I'll accompany you then."
As he spoke, Finn immediately picked up the witch, left the Darkhold behind, and walked toward the bedroom.
How could it be possible not to sleep?
Wouldn't the benefit of her soft and fragrant pillow be gone?
"Finn, let me go! Don't interfere with my study!"
The soft woman in his arms struggled, displeasure written on her face.
"I just said that the witch should study hard, but now she wants to hug me to sleep!" Finn thought with a smirk.
"Don't let go, you have to combine work and rest to learn well."
"See? I'm not going to sleep either."
Finn refused to let go.
He carried her all the way to the bedroom, threw her on the bed, turned off the light, and covered her with the quilt. And thus, the day was complete.
"But you can learn it once, and I can't learn it at all!"
Wanda was speechless. She had been praising her ability recently, but it turned out that this man was really talented.
To be precise, he was a monster!
No one could learn this at a glance. Not even Dr. Stephen Strange could do it.
"Don't worry, you'll learn it quickly with your ability," Finn reassured, holding her close under the quilt, his head resting on her shoulder.
"But... I've learned to protect you properly. Otherwise, people like Agatha might show up again in the future."
"If you didn't have such good luck this time..." Wanda whispered, her voice full of concern.
On the surface, she appeared relieved, but in her heart, she was very worried.
After what happened with Agatha, she knew that such things would definitely happen again in the future.
When the time came, Finn would surely be the first victim...
She couldn't imagine what would happen...
"Don't worry. Didn't you say that I have extraordinary abilities? Maybe I'll be the one protecting you in the future."
Finn smiled softly, hearing the witch's concerns.
He felt a warmth in his heart and couldn't help but want to hug her tighter.
Wanda's nose tingled as she suddenly thought of the friends who had fallen one by one around her, those who had died in the great war, those who had lost right in front of her.
She fell silent for a moment, then retorted softly, "No, I'll protect you from now on."
"Okay, good night."
---
New York City.
The bustling heart of the country's economy. The city that never sleeps. Despite it being late at night, the city was still full of life. The lights were always on.
And at the moment, in the basement of a building...
"You edit the content and send it to my mailbox, and you'll get the money."
The voice on the phone spoke again.
"I hope you don't break your word."
The one holding the phone was a balding middle-aged man, hiding in the basement warehouse. He sat in front of a computer, watching a video on the screen. There was a ruthlessness between his brows, but also a hint of anxiety.
"Wilhelm, you have no choice now. Trust me, it's the only thing that can help you!"
"Are you trying to make Quentin Baker work for nothing?" the voice on the phone asked.
"Alright, it's a deal."
Wilhelm nodded, thinking about the dead Quentin, Mysterio.
That's right. He was one of Quentin's main accomplices, helping with the scam of the century.

He was also the one who had been abandoned by the Stark Group.
After the decisive phone call, Wilhelm turned on the video screen on the computer and spoke coldly, "Come on, the name of Mysterio will go down in history! Let the world remember this superhero from the multiverse."
He grinned.
The video on the screen started to play. The footage showed the perspective of the mysterio.
The man had fallen to the ground, pain written all over his face. His tone was weak and terrified.
"Spider-Man... he's going to kill me!"
"And Scarlet Witch..."
"This unreasonable woman is going to help Spider-Man become..."
"Become the Successor to Iron Man, they're all crazy..."
"I'm telling everyone now, Spider-Man..."
"It's Peter Parker!"
The camera turned, and the mysterious guest, Quentin, had a bloodied face, looking terrified. He turned the camera towards a young man in a Spider-Man costume walking towards him.
Then...
Boom!!
Accompanied by ear-piercing gunshots, the camera went black!
Only the sound of bullet casings hitting the ground echoed in the silence...
