Marvel : I'm in Westview Town-Chapter 80
Chapter 80 - 80
·--
"Finn, you mean the counterfeit is looking for Doctor Strange?"
A chill ran down Wanda's spine. She hadn't considered this possibility before—her focus had been on Finn, not Stephen.
But now that she thought about it, everything seemed to make sense.
"I" wanted to take Finn out of this universe, and the only one capable of doing that was someone from Kamar-Taj.
Kamar-Taj had existed for thousands of years, holding ancient knowledge and countless forbidden techniques. There had to be a way—a way to go back.
"I guessed it. She wants to find Kamar-Taj through my Wanda."
"Because the location that caused the reality distortion is in the Sanctum Sanctorum in New York, and she knows that. So she'll make her move."
Doctor Strange recalled what had happened the night before. That night, he and Wong had tirelessly scouted various sanctums, searching for abnormalities.
At first, they had found nothing. But by the next morning, when the fluctuations of reality distortion intensified, they discovered that someone—an outsider—had entered their reality.
"You guys did it?"
Wanda raised an eyebrow, her expression showing mild surprise.
"It's not entirely our fault. Someone else was here the night before yesterday. He used an ancient forbidden technique—an amnesia spell."
Stephen's face darkened. Just thinking about that masked figure gave him a headache.
"He doesn't even know what memory was erased, because the Grand Sorcerer, Sterling, interrupted the spell midway, causing a reality distortion."
"Cough... cough..."
Finn coughed guiltily. That night had been a complete accident.
He hadn't expected the three of them to turn back. Nor had he expected Sterling—an old and experienced sorcerer—to be so reckless.
Interfering just seconds before the spell's completion had resulted in its abrupt failure.
Wanda, however, was too focused on the spell's implications to notice Finn's discomfort. She continued pressing forward.
"Can't you use backtracking magic to investigate the previous scene? You should be able to deduce what he erased from the spell itself."
"The amnesia spell alters memories, and retrospective magic would also be modified. There's no way to determine what was changed."
Stephen frowned, his tone filled with regret. He paused for a moment before speaking again, this time in a grave voice.
"But the most pressing issue now is to restore reality and send all those people back to their respective universes. If we don't, our reality may collapse."
"So, do you have a solution?"
Finn, who had been silent up until now, finally spoke.
"I have some ideas, but I haven't fully figured it out yet."
Stephen stroked his chin solemnly. Even for a sorcerer of his caliber, this situation was complicated.
Finn could tell that Stephen was struggling. He also understood that, in the original events, reality was restored relatively easily because the energy of the amnesia spell had been preserved.
But now, that energy had been shattered by Sterling's use of the Sword of Vishanti and scattered across the universe.
Reversing or restoring the spell's influence seemed impossible.
Thinking through the situation, Finn asked, "What about the fake Scarlet Witch? She could show up at any moment."
"I'll be heading back to Kamar-Taj later. Let her come. None of the sorcerers at Kamar-Taj are amateurs. Stopping her won't be an issue."
Stephen smirked confidently, as though he didn't take the counterfeit Wanda seriously.
Finn, however, recalled the original events—where a corrupted Wanda had singlehandedly taken on both Kamar-Taj and the Illuminati.
Especially the Illuminati, who had been just as overconfident as Stephen was now, believing they had everything under control.
"Finn, should we go to Kamar-Taj together?"
Wanda took his hand, concern flickering in her eyes.
"It's safer if we stay at the Sanctum. If Kamar-Taj falls..."
Finn trailed off, exchanging a glance with Stephen before awkwardly adding, "I mean, just in case."
Stephen nodded after considering it.
"You two stay at the New York Sanctum. I'll return to Kamar-Taj."
After all, if they stayed together and something went wrong, they could all be captured at once. Keeping separate locations gave them an escape route. The Sanctums were connected through portals, allowing easy travel across the world—making it an advantage if they needed to evade the fake Wanda.
With that, Stephen didn't waste any more time. Knowing that he was being targeted, his priority was to return to Kamar-Taj and prepare the sorcerers for battle.
Even though he and Finn had spoken confidently, he couldn't shake the bad feeling creeping into his mind.
Once Stephen left, only Finn and Wanda remained in the cold, underground hall.
"Do you want some breakfast?"
Finn checked the time—it was 7:30 AM. His stomach was already feeling empty, a clear reminder that it was time to eat.
"Yeah, let's go."
Wanda nodded, but before leaving, she pointed at the engraved wall in the outer hall.
"After breakfast, we should come back and study those spells."
"Alright."
Finn's gaze fell on the wall, specifically at one section that appeared brand new and blank. It was clear that Stephen had erased the remnants of the amnesia spell.
"Hey! Don't leave yet!"
Just as the two were about to ascend the stairs, a voice called out behind them.
It was Eddie. He had woken up early but had pretended to be asleep out of fear.
"Eddie, you nearly scared me."
Wanda exhaled in relief when she saw it was him.
"Bring me some breakfast. I'll die without it."
Eddie's voice was weak. He hadn't eaten anything since yesterday.
That damned Kamar-Taj magician—didn't he know that prisoners of war were supposed to be fed?
"No problem."
Finn wasn't a saint, but Eddie was harmless. There was no reason to let him starve.

After agreeing, they left the Sanctum.
The Sanctum Sanctorum was near the city center, not far from Stark Tower. Before the Battle of New York, the Chitauri invasion had affected many parts of the city—including the Sanctum.
However, with the Ancient One present, the Sanctum had remained untouched.
As they walked, they passed by a small breakfast shop.
"Boss, I'd like a cup of coffee and a piece of bread."
"You're a dollar short."
"But boss, I don't have that much cash on me right now. Can I pay the rest next time?"
"Are you kidding me, kid? It's just a dollar! Your clothes and shoes look expensive!"
"Fine. Just the coffee, then."
The conversation caught Finn's attention. A girl, probably around seventeen or eighteen, stood at the counter.
Her voice was youthful yet magnetic, the kind that made people instinctively turn to look.
She had an air of confidence, but her eyes betrayed her concern over money.
With a sigh, she handed over the last of her cash. She hadn't brought much with her, and she'd nearly spent it all since yesterday.
Being a superhero was exhausting—and it didn't pay the bills.
Just as she looked frustrated, a large hand placed a bill on the counter.
"I'll cover her meal. And add two coffees and two pieces of bread for us, please."
Finn smiled as the girl turned around in surprise.
