Marvel: My Luck Is A Hundred Million Points Better!-Chapter 169 If You Can’T Kill Him, Beat Him To Death.
Chapter 169 - 169 If You Can’T Kill Him, Beat Him To Death.
"The Celestials?"
Thor frowned, his expression clearly confused. "What is the Celestial Group?"
Luo Bai thought for a moment before explaining. "You can think of them as an ancient and immensely powerful race in the universe. They're targeting both me and Earth."
"A powerful race? How powerful?" Thor asked, unimpressed. "Can they possibly be stronger than Asgard? When Tony found me, he warned that the Devourer of Planets was coming to destroy Earth. He made it sound terrifying, but in the end, didn't we still manage to drive Galactus away?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Loki and Hela laughed at him in unison.
"My dear brother, have you already forgotten... that it was Luo Bai who forced Galactus to retreat?" Loki reminded him with a smirk.
Thor waved his hand dismissively. "It doesn't matter. What matters is that we won!"
Loki shook his head, his tone more serious now. "No, it does matter! If I recall correctly, you were thoroughly beaten by Galactus's heralds. Not to mention, your new weapon was destroyed in the battle."
Thor: "..."
Hearing this, Thor's expression turned awkward.
As much as it pained him to admit it, Loki was right.
The Heralds of Galactus had been far more powerful than Thor had expected.
When he first arrived, he had been eager for battle, believing it would be a chance to prove his strength. But he hadn't expected Galactus's messengers to be so terrifyingly strong.
Just four of them had nearly wiped out all of Earth's superheroes.
Thinking about that, Thor muttered awkwardly, "Alright, I admit those four were pretty strong... But isn't Luo Bai still here on Earth? So there shouldn't be a problem... right?"
As he spoke, he turned to look at Luo Bai.
If it were before, Luo Bai might have confidently reassured him. But considering how vast the Celestials' numbers were, and the fact that some of them were complete mysteries even to him, he refrained from making any guarantees.
Instead, he replied matter-of-factly, "The Celestials have many members. Even your father fought against them in the past and was defeated. I can only do my best. As for whether I can defeat them completely... I can't make any promises."
Thor was visibly surprised. "My father fought against the Celestials?"
Loki and Hela looked just as stunned, their eyes fixed on Luo Bai in disbelief.
Seeing their confusion, Luo Bai began to recount the events of the past.
"From what I know, this is how it happened—your father, Odin, the All-Father, was extremely ambitious in his younger years. Back then, the universe was unstable, and he sought to rule the Nine Realms and conquer the cosmos.
"Odin was a formidable warrior in his youth. With Hela's assistance, he succeeded in unifying the Nine Realms.
"But just as he was about to expand his conquest beyond, the Celestials descended upon Earth.
"To Odin, their presence was no different from an invasion. Given his pride, he naturally chose to fight them. But in the end, he was defeated. After that battle, he abandoned his ambitions of universal conquest and even ordered Hela to stop expanding Asgard's influence."
Hearing this, Hela's expression turned cold.
Her brows furrowed into the shape of the Chinese character "川" (symbolizing deep contemplation).
She seemed to be searching her memories, trying to recall if such a battle had indeed taken place. But no matter how hard she thought, she couldn't remember anything about a war against the Celestials.
Unable to suppress her confusion, she asked, "Why don't I remember Asgard ever fighting the Celestials?"
Luo Bai chuckled. "Of course, you wouldn't remember. Odin never brought you into that battle. Frankly, it was fortunate he didn't—otherwise, even with your strength, survival would have been nearly impossible."
"Impossible?" Hela scoffed, her pride wounded. "You underestimate me too much."
Luo Bai shook his head, his expression serious. "I'm not underestimating you. I'm just stating the truth."
Hela's eyes narrowed. "Then why didn't he tell me about them later?"
Luo Bai smirked. "Come on, Hela. You know your father's pride. Do you really think he would admit to being defeated? Odin had an ego to protect."
"You've seen how arrogant he was in his younger days. If not for that battle, do you really think he would have suddenly abandoned his plans for conquest?"
Hela didn't argue further, but the seriousness in her gaze made it clear—she was intrigued by the Celestials.
Though she disapproved of many of Odin's actions, she still respected his strength.
And yet, Odin—the mighty All-Father—had been humbled by the Celestials.
That was truly surprising.
After a moment of silence, Hela muttered, "So he didn't betray me... He was simply crushed by the strongest race in the universe?"
Luo Bai nodded. "That's right. In fact, imprisoning you was his way of protecting you. He didn't want you to come into contact with the Celestials."
"But there's no escaping them now. The Celestials are coming to Earth, and the people here can't avoid this war. Since Earth is part of the Nine Realms, Asgard won't be able to escape either."
Hela remained silent for a long time. It was impossible to tell what she was thinking about Odin now.
Eventually, she exhaled and said calmly, "I look forward to their arrival. I want to see just how powerful they really are."
With that, Hela turned and led her army back to Asgard.
It was clear that her mind was in turmoil.
She had likely returned to Asgard to calm herself—or perhaps to search for any records about the Celestials.
Once she was gone, Thor finally spoke up again. "This Celestial Group sounds terrifying... My father was defeated by them, after all. I need to hurry and repair my weapons. I want to see for myself how strong these Celestials are!"
Luo Bai glanced at him and suddenly remembered something.
He turned to Thor and asked, "By the way, Thor. Your hammer was destroyed by Hela, right?"
Thor nodded. "Yeah. After that, I went to Nidavellir, and the King of the Dwarves helped me forge another weapon—the Stormbreaker."
Luo Bai raised an eyebrow. "Another weapon? But... where is it?"
At the mention of this, Thor looked a little depressed.
He shrugged and sighed. "It's gone. It was destroyed by one of Galactus's Heralds."
Luo Bai: "......"
Stormbreaker was an incredibly powerful weapon, forged with the core of a neutron star. It should have been extremely difficult to break.
But then again... the Heralds wielded cosmic energy granted by Galactus himself. Their weapons had also been enhanced by that immense power.
If Thor had clashed with them head-on, especially with his current strength... it wasn't impossible that Stormbreaker would be destroyed.
Although everyone jokes that Thor is the "God of Hammers," it seems he truly can't be without a weapon.
Thinking of this, Luo Bai couldn't help but ask, "Do you still have the broken pieces of your axe and hammer?"
Thor nodded confidently. "Of course."
As he spoke, he took out the shattered remains of Mjolnir and Stormbreaker.
The moment Thor produced the fragments, Luo Bai used the power of reality manipulation to restore both weapons to their original state.
Seeing his beloved weapons back in perfect condition, Thor was overjoyed.
"Brother!! Luo Bai!!! I love you so much!!" Thor shouted excitedly, clutching both weapons in his hands.
Overcome with excitement, he even kissed his battle axe and hammer.
Watching this scene, Luo Bai couldn't help but sigh and say, "Thor, I know you rely on your weapons to fully unleash your power, but I hope you remember that you are the God of Thunder, not the God of Hammers or Axes. You should focus on strengthening yourself."
"I know! I will~~ I definitely will~~ Believe me, brother!" Thor replied, grinning.
Though he agreed, Luo Bai could tell from his expression that Thor wasn't taking it seriously at all.
To be fair, Thor's lack of growth was partly Luo Bai's fault.
In the original timeline, Thor's first major leap in power happened after Hela appeared. But because Luo Bai had quickly dealt with her, Thor missed out on an important period of development.
Now, with the Celestials coming, Luo Bai wasn't sure if he could handle everything alone.
As the King of Asgard, it was time for Thor to grow stronger.
Thinking of this, Luo Bai turned to Loki. "Loki, I need you to do something for me."
Loki raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What is it?"
Luo Bai didn't answer immediately. Instead, he glanced at Thor, who was still basking in his excitement.
After a moment, he said, "The Earth has been very unstable recently, and war could break out at any moment. As the King of Asgard, Thor is responsible for the safety of the Nine Realms... but his strength is far from enough. He needs to grow up."
Loki smirked. "I couldn't agree more."
Luo Bai leaned in slightly. "So, I need you to talk to Hela for me and ask her to... give our dear brother a lesson. What I mean is—if she can't kill him, she should at least beat him within an inch of his life."
Loki's eyes lit up with mischief.
"Don't worry, leave it to me!!!" Loki said, thumping his chest with confidence.
Meanwhile, Thor was still too busy celebrating the return of his weapons to notice the dangerous plot unfolding against him.
But when he returned to Asgard...
He quickly realized that times had changed.
Excited to be home, Thor stepped into Asgard with high spirits—only to find a massive army blocking his path.
Before he could even ask what was going on, Hela appeared... and immediately began beating him to a pulp.
Not only did she thrash him mercilessly, but she also confiscated his weapons.
And the worst part?
The beatings continued for an entire month.
Thor never saw it coming.
He was the King of Asgard!
Why?!!
Why was he the one suffering like this?!!
