Marvel: Umbrella Corporation-Chapter 165: Odin Faints from Anger
Chapter 165 - Odin Faints from Anger
Sif couldn't hold back anymore. She stood up from her seat and walked straight to Loki.
"Loki, you must persuade your father to take back his order."
"I can try, but what difference will it make? I love Thor more than any of you. But you all know what kind of person he is—proud, arrogant, reckless.
You saw what he did today. Is that the behavior befitting a prince of Asgard?"
Loki scanned the faces of those before him, but their expressions remained unchanged. Disappointment flashed in his eyes as he turned and walked away.
He had hoped to win over the Warriors Three and Sif.
After all, they were among Asgard's strongest fighters, and Sif, as Heimdall's sister, held considerable influence. Gaining their support would be invaluable to his plans.
But now, he saw no chance of that happening.
As Loki left, Sif couldn't help but speak. "Loki claims to care about Thor, but he has always been jealous of him."
Having grown up with Thor, Sif had deep feelings for him. Her words reflected her loyalty.
Vostagg glanced at his injured palm and chuckled bitterly.
"But he wasn't wrong. He did save our lives."
Hogun suddenly spoke up. "Laufey said there was a traitor in Odin's house. Someone powerful enough to smuggle three Frost Giants into Asgard."
The others fell silent. They all knew who he was referring to. But still, they found it hard to believe.
"Loki may joke around, but he wouldn't make such a mistake on serious matters."
"Yes, I don't think he would betray Asgard."
"Exactly. Besides, he has no reason to do so."

While the Warriors Three and Sif continued their discussion, Loki had already left the hall, unseen.
Using his magic to turn invisible, he made his way into Odin's vault, stopping before a particular artifact.
It was a relic about thirty centimeters long and twenty centimeters high, pulsing with an eerie blue light. The Casket of Ancient Winters—the sacred treasure of the Frost Giants.
During the battle in Jotunheim earlier that day, Loki had felt something strange. A power that was both unfamiliar and yet eerily familiar—like that of a Frost Giant.
Now, he was here to test the truth of an old legend.
After a moment of hesitation, he reached out and grasped the casket, lifting it in his hands.
A surge of power coursed through him—foreign yet oddly intimate. Despair gripped him. He shook his head, eyes filled with disbelief.
He had a connection to the casket.
He had the blood of the Frost Giants!
"Put it down!"
Odin's voice rang out behind him.
Loki turned sharply, finding his father standing there, his face solemn.
Odin had been discussing matters with Frigga when he sensed the disturbance in the vault. Without hesitation, he had transported himself here.
Hearing his father's command, Loki, devastated, did not obey immediately. Instead, he clung to a desperate hope and asked,
"Am I cursed?"
"No."
Odin's answer shattered the last bit of hope in Loki's heart. Slowly, he lowered the casket.
The moment he let go, his skin turned blue. His eyes glowed red, his ears sharpened—he looked exactly like a Frost Giant.
But as soon as he stepped away from the casket, his appearance reverted to normal.
Turning to Odin, he demanded, "Then who am I?"
Pain flickered across Odin's face, but his voice was full of fatherly love as he said,
"You are my son."
Loki, however, did not see the sorrow in Odin's eyes. As he placed the casket back, he stepped forward, his voice filled with accusation.
"But that's not all, is it?"
"The Casket of Ancient Winters wasn't the only thing you brought back from Jotunheim, was it?"
Odin's heart ached at Loki's cold gaze.
"That's true," he admitted.

"After the war, I entered the temple and found a child—an abandoned infant. A Frost Giant's offspring, cast aside to die. Laufey's son."
The memory came flooding back.
Over a thousand years ago, Odin had waged war across the Nine Realms, cutting down countless foes.
His final campaign was against the Frost Giants.
After defeating Laufey and entering the temple, he had found the abandoned Loki. Using his divine power, he had altered the child's appearance to resemble an Asgardian and brought him home, claiming him as his own.
He had done it with an ulterior motive—he had hoped to use Loki to make Laufey submit. But as time passed, Odin had truly come to love the boy.
Loki, hearing this, was filled with disbelief, confusion, and a refusal to accept the truth.
"Why?" His voice trembled. "You slaughtered countless Frost Giants—why would you take me?"
"You were an innocent child."
"No!" Loki's voice cracked. "There was a reason! What was it?"
Odin hesitated, and Loki's anger burned brighter.
"ANSWER ME!"
Pain filled Odin's heart. He could not believe that the boy he had raised now looked at him with such hatred.
Was it the Frost Giant blood in him?
Seeing Odin's silence, Loki's fury exploded.
"So, I was nothing more than a stolen relic? A trophy to be kept here until I could be useful to you?"
"Why do you twist my words?" Odin's voice was strained.
"You could have told me from the beginning," Loki snapped. "Why didn't you?"
"Because you are my son," Odin said softly. "I only wanted to protect you from the truth."
"You mean, protect me from knowing that in Asgardian bedtime stories, my kind are the monsters used to frighten children?"
Odin's heart wrenched at Loki's words. He had always tried to shield the boy from pain, yet here he was, breaking before his eyes.
His exhaustion caught up with him. The strain of delaying his Odinsleep, combined with the emotional turmoil, overwhelmed him.
He collapsed onto the steps, breath unsteady.
But Loki, caught up in his rage, did not notice at first.
"Of course, you always favored Thor," he continued, voice shaking. "No matter how much you say you love me, you would never let a Frost Giant sit on Asgard's throne!"
Then he turned to look at Odin—only to see him slumped on the steps, unconscious.
Panic flickered in Loki's eyes. He crouched down, reaching for Odin. Despite everything, despite the truth, he still cared for the man who had raised him.
But as he stared at Odin's still form, another thought took root.
An opportunity.
The throne of Asgard was now within his grasp.
"Guards!" he called out.
