Marvel: Umbrella Corporation-Chapter 172: Loki’s Plot
Chapter 172 - Loki's Plot
On Earth~
At this moment, Thor was carrying a drunken Eric back to their RV.
As astronomers, they often had to travel all over the world to capture the clearest photos and rare celestial events. The RV was their true home — the previous research base was just a temporary setup.
*Knock, knock, knock...*
Hearing the sound of knocking, Jane, who was reading inside the RV, immediately stood up and opened the door.
"What happened to him?"
"Nothing serious — he just drank too much."
After saying that, Thor placed Eric down on the bed.
Half-conscious from the noise, Eric opened his eyes slightly. His face was flushed from the alcohol, but when he saw Thor, he smiled.
"I still don't believe you're the God of Thunder... but you might be the God of Whisky..."
After saying that, he couldn't resist the wave of sleepiness anymore and quickly fell into a deep slumber.
A while later, Thor and Jane went outside and started chatting.
As they talked, Thor began to tell Jane about Asgard, Jotunheim, and the state of the Nine Realms.
Seeing Jane's puzzled expression, Thor grabbed a notebook and started sketching the layout of the Nine Realms and Yggdrasil, the World Tree.
After talking for a while, Thor noticed that Jane seemed distracted, just gazing at him with a dazed expression.
This stirred something in Thor's heart.
Back in Asgard, Thor was never one to restrain his desires.
When he first arrived on Earth, he had been focused solely on returning to Asgard, so even though he found Jane attractive, he hadn't thought of starting anything.
After all, he figured he would eventually go back home — why get involved with a mortal?
But now, after hearing Loki's words, he wasn't so sure about returning anymore. His hesitation faded.
Soon, the two of them were kissing deeply. Things quickly escalated as they explored each other's boundaries...
.........
Meanwhile, at the Bifrost Bridge in Asgard~
Heimdall stood at the center of the portal, gazing toward the distant Jotunheim.
With his eyes capable of seeing across the Nine Realms, Heimdall was shocked to realize that he couldn't see through Jotunheim anymore.
After a long pause, the Bifrost Bridge suddenly pulsed with light.

Loki appeared.
Heimdall had never been fond of Loki.
Loki was too cunning, too secretive — there was always something about him that Heimdall couldn't fully see through.
"I tried to observe you while you were in Jotunheim," Heimdall said. "But I couldn't see or hear anything — just like when the Frost Giants invaded."
Hearing this, Loki stopped walking and turned toward Heimdall.
Heimdall stood over two meters tall, clad in golden armor, holding a long double-edged sword. His golden eyes radiated an intimidating pressure, as though they could pierce through the soul.
"Perhaps," Loki said with a smile, walking in a slow circle around Heimdall, "you've stayed here too long, and your senses are beginning to dull."
"Or perhaps," Heimdall replied calmly, "someone has found a way to hide from my sight."
Loki's smile widened as he circled Heimdall.
"You possess great power, Heimdall. Did Odin ever fear you?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because he is my king. I swore loyalty to him."
"He was your king," Loki said, his tone turning sharp. "But now I am king. So, does that mean you now serve me?"
Heimdall's gaze sharpened. After a long silence, he nodded slowly.
"Yes."
Hearing this, Loki relaxed slightly and turned to leave.
"From now on, no one may open the Bifrost without my permission," Loki said. "Until I've cleaned up the mess my brother left behind."
After Loki left, Heimdall remained silent, sighing deeply.
..........
An hour later~
Sif entered the Bifrost chamber, accompanied by the Warriors Three.
"Brother..."
Hearing this, Heimdall gave his sister a meaningful glance.
Even though he couldn't see Loki's plans directly, he could hear every word of his sister's conversation.
Without saying a word, Heimdall placed his sword down and stepped away from the portal.
"I've guarded the Bifrost for so many years," he said aloud, "but suddenly I feel like taking a break and going to a tavern."
His voice wasn't quiet — it carried clearly across the chamber.
As he passed Sif and the others, he added, "I swore loyalty to the king... I have never betrayed that oath — not now, and not ever..."
Watching Heimdall leave, Sif and the Warriors Three exchanged confused looks.
"What does that mean?"
"I don't know. He sounded like he was saying something important... but also saying nothing at all."
At that moment, Sif turned toward the sword resting in the center of the bridge.
"It seems... that sword can open the Bifrost."
Realization dawned on the Warriors Three.
A while later, back in the palace, Loki's eyes darkened as he sensed the Bifrost had been activated.
His face twisted into a scowl.
Moments later, he stormed into Odin's treasure vault, clutching Gungnir — the Eternal Spear.
*Clang!*
As the tip of the spear struck the ground, a massive figure stirred within the vault.
The Destroyer emerged — a towering figure over three meters tall, forged from Uru metal by the dwarves of Nidavellir. The enchanted metal shimmered menacingly under the dim light.
Loki's gaze was cold as he said, "Make sure my brother never returns. Destroy everything."
...........
Meanwhile, on Earth, in New Mexico~
It was broad daylight.
Suddenly, a rainbow beam shot down from the sky, striking the ground with dazzling light.
When the light faded, four figures stood on the barren earth — Fandral, Hogun, Volstagg, and Sif.
Looking at the desolate surroundings, they exchanged confused looks. They had never been to Midgard before — they had no idea where to find Thor.
Following Sif's suggestion, they decided to head toward the nearest town to gather information.
Dozens of kilometers away, in Umbrella's temporary research facility, alarms were blaring.
Luna immediately rushed toward the research department.
"What's going on?"
"Miss Luna, we're not sure — something strange just happened."
"It seems... something fell from the sky."
"But we checked satellite data and rocket launch records — nothing matches this event."
Surrounded by flustered researchers, Luna remained calm.
"Red Queen, activate the Sky-Eye satellite and scan the area."
"Yes."
A projection from the Sky-Eye satellite appeared in the room.
But the image was distorted, with interference running through it.
"Red Queen, what's going on?"
"There is an unknown energy field in the atmosphere," the AI replied. "It's interfering with our instruments."
