Chapter 56 - 56: Deadpool Delivery
Peter slammed a towering stack of ancient books onto the table in the corner of the library, sending up a cloud of dust like he'd just summoned an ancient curse. The old wooden table creaked under the weight, threatening to file a complaint.
Felicia, leaning lazily in her chair, raised an eyebrow. "Peter... what is this? Hogwarts after-hours?"
Peter adjusted his glasses and gave her a small, knowing smirk. "Just light reading."
Before Felicia could toss another sarcastic comment, the librarian appeared like he had fast-traveled from the shadows. His sharp gaze moved between the stack and Peter. "You're telling me... you read and comprehended all of this in one night?"
Peter's tone was calm, cool. "Yeah. It was a quiet evening."
Felicia muttered under her breath, "You're the definition of 'quietly terrifying.'"
The librarian's eyes narrowed. "Prove it. Answer me this: what is the dimensional constant to stabilize a portal to the Mirror Dimension?"
Peter crossed his arms, unphased. "4.26 times the Planck constant. Adjustments vary with environmental magic density."
The librarian blinked, then pushed on. "And the Paradox Loop found in the Book of Cagliostro?"
Peter tilted his head slightly. "Temporal failsafe. It traps temporal anomalies until released by a caster's intent or a fixed event trigger."
Felicia just stared at him, deadpan. "Yeah, makes total sense."
The librarian ignored her and fired the last question, voice sharper now. "How do you anchor an astral form to the physical body while preventing neural degradation?"
Peter's answer was instant. "Tri-rune binding layered with mental discipline techniques. No shortcuts, or you risk losing pieces of your consciousness like cheap Wi-Fi packets."
Felicia's sass returned. "So, basically, don't cross the streams."
Peter smirked at her Ghostbusters reference but kept his cool. "Exactly."
The librarian, adjusting his robe, exhaled. "Impressive. You should report to the Ancient One. Looks like you are ready for the next level."
Peter gave a polite nod, but his mind was already racing. Next level? This just got interesting.
***
The air in the hall was thick with incense and quiet power. The Ancient One sat across from Peter and Felicia at a low table, the atmosphere calm but serious.
Peter sat straight, focused, though his mind drifted. Yep, she's either about to give me wisdom or send me on a spirit quest.
Felicia, arms folded, shifted uncomfortably. "So... what now? You handing us our magic licenses or something?"
The Ancient One's calm gaze lingered on Peter first. "You've demonstrated rapid comprehension of material that takes years for others. Your mind adapts well, Peter. Starting this afternoon, you will begin combat training with Sorcerer Wong, following your morning practices."
Peter gave a respectful nod. "Understood."
Felicia raised her hand like a student. "And me?"
The Ancient One's tone softened but remained measured. "You will continue your theory work after morning sessions. Knowledge will anchor you, Felicia."
Felicia sighed, clearly disappointed. "Cool. More books."
Peter gave her a subtle smirk. "Hey, could be worse. They could've given you the tea-making job."
Felicia gave him a sideways glance. "I'd make terrible tea on purpose."
The Ancient One chuckled softly. "Balance, both of you. Body and mind. One will sharpen the other."
***
Peter stood inside the training circle, feet planted firmly. Across from him, Wong stood with the composure of a seasoned warrior, arms behind his back, expression calm but sharp.
"You're confident," Wong said, voice measured.
Peter tilted his head. "Confident enough."
Felicia, leaning casually against a pillar, crossed her arms and raised a brow. "Better be. He looks like he eats people like you for breakfast."
Peter smirked. "Nah, he's more of a green tea guy."
Wong stood stern as ever, showing no reactions. "Begin."
Peter moved first, fluid and sharp. He launched a quick series of jabs, testing Wong's guard. Wong parried with precision, barely shifting his feet. His calm, deliberate movements made it clear: this was just warm-up.
Peter adjusted, using fast footwork to angle in from Wong's flank. A palm strike came close to landing on Wong's ribs, but Wong countered, spinning Peter's momentum outward and forcing him to retreat.
"You've studied forms," Wong noted, eyes narrowing.
"Studied, sure," Peter replied coolly, breathing steady. "But now I'm here for the practical."
Wong's stance shifted subtly. He pressed forward, faster this time. Peter ducked and rolled beneath a sweeping kick, popping up behind Wong, but the master turned smoothly to face him.
Peter went on the offensive, mixing sharp kicks with tight strikes. Wong blocked and parried, but Peter's timing, adaptibility and unpredictability forced him to step back.
Felicia watched silently, her expression softening. "Huh... kid's not just swinging wild."
Wong's eyes flickered with recognition. Without a word, he traced a symbol in the air mid-step. A faint orange glow rippled as a small Eldritch shield snapped into place, catching Peter's next blow.
Peter grinned. "Oh, we're playing that game now?"
Wong responded by conjuring another glyph, this time sending a kinetic blast toward Peter. Peter ducked and side-stepped, letting the energy smash harmlessly into the ground behind him.
"Impressive," Wong admitted, advancing with faster strikes, magic now weaving between his martial moves. A glowing whip of energy lashed out. Peter dodged it on instinct, flipping over it and landing behind Wong.

He could feel the heat from the magic, but his focus stayed sharp. "I've read about this trick," Peter said, narrowly avoiding another arcane blast. "But it looks faster in person."
Wong's lip twitched, almost a smile. "I adapt."
Peter closed the distance quickly, reading Wong's footwork. He ducked under another magical swipe, and with a sudden surge, delivered a solid palm to Wong's shoulder, pushing him back a few steps.
"So do I." Peter stood with extreme confidence, much like Goku willing to throw a senzu bean to his enemies.
Felicia exhaled through her nose, clearly impressed but keeping it cool. "Not bad."
Wong lowered his stance, then let the magic fade with a flick of his wrist. "Enough."
Peter wiped sweat from his brow, steady. "Good workout."
Wong stepped forward, offering a hand. "You've got control, not just talent."
Peter accepted the handshake, grip firm. "I try."
Wong's voice softened, hinting at approval. "Tomorrow, we'll see if you can keep up."
Peter nodded. "Looking forward to it."
As Wong turned and walked away, Felicia approached Peter, smirking slightly but less sarcastic. "I'll admit, that was pretty slick."
Peter replied with a small grin, voice calm. "Slick's my middle name."
Felicia rolled her eyes but without biting. "Just don't let it get to your head, champ in the making."
"Let's get going." Peter laughed.
***
Peter's phone buzzed so hard, it nearly vibrated off the desk at home.
["Incoming transmission from: "The taco lover in red and black."]
Peter sighed, rubbing his eyes. Only one man would call himself that without shame. He tapped the screen. "What's up, Wade?"
Deadpool's voice exploded through the speaker like a Michael Bay movie. "Guess who just did a successful mission and smuggled home some juicy vibranium, baby! Also, I hope you got the promised tacos and super suit ready, Pete?"
Peter leaned back in his chair and smirked. "You are actually on time? I thought you'd get lost halfway from Wakanda and end up in Disneyland."
Deadpool gasped. "I did make a pit stop at Disneyland! Haunted Mansion still slaps, by the way."
Peter chuckled. "Focus, Wade. Vibranium first. Then haunted houses."
Deadpool dramatically cleared his throat. "Fine. Operation: 'Borrow Through Force' was a total success! Shhh, don't tell anyone. I may have... disarmed a baboon with a 'punch me' face. Long story."
Peter grinned. I shouldn't be surprised. I literally sent him to get it. "Alright, meet me in the lab in ten minutes. The tacos are already ordered. Oh, and the suit? You're gonna love it."
Deadpool squealed like a kid at Christmas. "YES! I knew this friendship was worth it! I'll bring the vibranium and you know what? I'll wear pants to honor our friendship."
Peter facepalmed. "That was implied."
Deadpool whispered, "You get me."
The line went dead.
He's insane... but can't hate that guy. Peter thought.
["Incoming chaos detected. Estimated time to arrival: eleven minutes."]
Peter grinned. "Let's get to work."
***
Deadpool practically kicked the lab door open, holding a suspicious-looking crate with a "Definitely Not Stolen" written on it with red crayon.
"VIBRANIUM, baby!" he cheered. "Straight from the magical land of Wakanda! Also, I may or may not have wrestled a rhino on the way out."
Peter crossed his arms. "Did you win?"
Deadpool shrugged. "Define win. The rhino is now my emotional support animal, so..."
Peter smirked and pulled out a black, high-tech case from under the workbench. "Payment first."
Deadpool bounced on his heels like an excited young girl. "Gimme, gimme, gimme!"
Peter opened the case slowly, and inside, a red and black UMF (unstable molecule fabric) suit shimmered like something out of a 90's superhero fashion show. Peter's voice dropped to a mock movie-trailer voice. "Five presets: D-Pooly, Deadpool Kid, Deadpool Pirate, Regular Deadpool, and Death Mask. Each with custom weapon slots, enhanced durability, and more style than you deserve."
Deadpool's eyes widened behind his mask. "Bro... this is like if James Bond and a Hot Topic had a baby."
Peter handed him the case. "No refunds."
Deadpool practically hugged it. "I'm gonna wear this everywhere. Even to weddings."
Peter raised a brow. "Yours or someone else's?"
Deadpool winked. "Both."
["Payment complete. Sanity level of Deadpool: critically low."]
Deadpool gave a thumbs-up. "Now I have a reasonable explanation for my random costume change."
Peter pointed at the crate. "Now scram before you attract entire Dora Milaje here."
Deadpool saluted. "Aye aye, Spidey Prime!" As he walked out, he shouted, "Oh, and I expect guac on those tacos!"
Peter grinned. "Guac is extra."
Deadpool's scream echoed down the hallway. "Nooooooo!"
***
With the vibranium secured, Peter rolled up his sleeves. "Alright, let's make some magic."
He carefully extracted the vibranium ingots from the crate and placed them beside adamantium rods and carbonadium sheets.
Three of the rarest metals on Earth... and Deadpool still asked for tacos.
Peter turned to his first task: vibranium energy cores.
"These babies will power the suits," he murmured, soldering the delicate tech together.
["Energy output optimization complete. Suggest compact design for drone compatibility."]
Peter smirked. "Already ahead of you."
["Correction: we are ahead."]
Peter chuckled. "Fair."
***
Peter started next the assembly of the Superior Spider-Man suit, whispering to himself, "Time to level up."
He integrated vibranium beneath the nanomimic outer layer. "CELESTE, run durability simulations."
["Nanomimic layer mimicking adamantium over the vibranium body is operating at 237% above standard durability."]
"Good," Peter said, slotting in the retractable spider-legs. They folded neatly into the back compartment, sleek but deadly.
["I recommend few additional enchanted vibranium inserts for flexibility and resistance to magnetic fields."]
Peter nodded. "Sure, load up the blueprints."
["Done. You're welcome."]
Peter moved on to the third project, after finishing the last. Felicia's gonna love this.
He crafted her stealth suit in secret, sleek black with vibranium-weaved nanomesh, custom-fitted claws with NanoMimic, and silent step enhancements. Black Panther meets Ocean's Eleven. He grinned.
She'll probably call me a nerd... then wear it every night.
***
He then, reached for a tray of tiny spider-like drones. "Alright, little guys. Time to come to life."
Each drone was fitted with nano-weapons. Peter linked them to his HUD and programmed a special mode.
"Exterminate mode activated." He grinned.
["Dalek reference detected. Approval rating: 100%."]
Peter laughed. "Perfect. Now they're ready to swarm."
He watched as the drones powered up, their tiny red eyes glowing. "Nice!."
***
As Peter stood back, looking at the Superior Spider-Man suit, Felicia's stealth suit, the glowing vibranium cores, and the army of spider drones, he couldn't help but feel satisfied.
Not bad for a night's work.
His eyes narrowed with excitement. Can't wait to meet Captain America... and scan that iconic shield.
