Master Bai! This Celestial Fox Spirit Is Asking For Divorce-Chapter 398: Episode 42.8 High Stakes Decision While In The Sky
Poison?
This bitch better be joking.
Poison to Shen Yuan was like ice to Queen Elsa. That shit never bothered him in any way.
With his Heavenly Foxfire, he could purify it with his own power before it even spread through his bloodstream.
"Hahaha!" Shen Yuan laughed like a villain. He truly enjoyed it when evil desperately tried to wiggle its way out of his grasp.
"What a pathetic fool—" Shen Yuan conjured his white purifying flame to burn away the poison the woman had used, but then he noticed something.
This time, it was the woman’s turn to laugh. "Did you notice now? My poison ability is not something that can be easily solved by an antidote. It latches not only onto the body but also onto the mana! Do you understand what that means? I may die from this fall, but you would die first!"
"What a pain in the ass..." Shen Yuan muttered under his breath. Then, without blinking, he let go of the woman.
"Ahhhh!" The woman’s wide, terrified eyes locked onto Shen Yuan as she fell to her death.
Shen Yuan never intended to kill anyone today, since heaven’s rule was still weighing him down.
However—
What else could he do when he needed to put his entire focus on purifying that woman’s magic?
What she said was true. The poison was not only infecting him physically; it was also contaminating his innate mana.
With the limitations of his Heavenly Foxfire, he could only treat one aspect at a time. He needed to act fast. He could not afford any distractions.
Thus, the yapping kidnapper had to go... down.
"Ahhhhh!"
Amid the cries of the plummeting woman, Shen Yuan enveloped his entire body in Heavenly Foxfire. He purified his mana first, which carried the infection faster than his blood.
Under no circumstances could he allow the poison to sully his mana. His unborn baby depended on it for nourishment. If it reached his womb, there was no telling how badly his child could be harmed.
"Just hope I purify my mana faster than you hit the ground. If I still have time, I would love to keep you alive for torture," Shen Yuan said loudly.
Deep inside, he had already steeled himself. His baby’s safety mattered more than the punishment he would receive once this vile woman died by his hand.
"Ahhh!" The woman didn’t know that he just made the Cardina’s most feared omega take such a huge risk.
She unwittingly pushed Shen Yuan to the corner, and now, she could only scream in terror.
Naturally, this scene did not escape Bai Tingfeng’s watchful eyes.
His concern grew exponentially when he saw his husband release the enemy and send her diving through the sky. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
What are you doing, Yuan? I thought you weren’t allowed to kill humans? The question rang in Bai Tingfeng’s mind. He knew how strictly Shen Yuan followed the no-kill rule; it was undoubtedly suspicious to see him just drop the enemy to her death.
A terrible feeling crept into his chest.
Something bad must have happened with Shen Yuan.
Because otherwise, Shen Yuan would never do something that would incur heaven’s punishment.
He squinted, trying to discern Shen Yuan’s condition.
"Wait... is that white flame?" From this distance, Bai Tingfeng could barely distinguish it, its color blending with the setting sun.
But he could feel it—albeit faintly.
The movement of mana coming from Shen Yuan’s direction was rotating inwardly.
His husband was using his power on himself.
Countless thoughts raced through his mind. Then, without wasting another second, he picked up his son.
"Yanyan, listen to me." Bai Tingfeng placed a hand on the boy’s head. The urgency in his voice immediately made Yanyan straighten up. "You still have the protective talismans, yes?"
"Mm. I only used one. I still have..." Yanyan counted the papers in his small hand. "Twelve protective talismans, Papa."
"Good." Bai Tingfeng placed Yanyan onto Yangyang’s saddle, then lifted an idle foxfire beast and settled it beside him. "We need to help your Daddy avoid punishment. Do you see that falling black dot over there? We need to rush to where it’s going to land and catch it before it hits the ground."
Yanyan blinked. "It... but Papa, that’s a person."
"I don’t know their gender. But above all, they’re worse than animals." Bai Tingfeng shrugged. "We just need to make sure that they are alive. Then, we will check on your Daddy."
And so they rushed toward the falling enemy, their speed comparable to that of a hummingbird in flight.
"Now, Yanyan!"
"Roger that, Papa!" Yanyan pulled out a stack of protective talismans and activated one by pressing it against the paw of the foxfire beast riding with him.
A barrier appeared above Yanyan’s head, and Bai Tingfeng leapt onto it.
"Another one, baby!" the alpha said, and Yanyan immediately activated the second talisman.
The two barriers are stacked atop one another. Bai Tingfeng used them as footholds, jumping higher and higher.
Yanyan continued activating talismans, supporting his alpha father using the barriers to provide a foothold.
The father-and-son duo worked seamlessly to get closer to Shen Yuan.
But of course, before anything else, Bai Tingfeng had to ensure the falling enemy stayed alive—for Shen Yuan’s sake.
"Ahhhh! I’m dying!" The woman’s screams grew louder as Bai Tingfeng closed the distance.
She was falling while Bai Tingfeng ascended.
It did not take long for them to meet midair.
When the woman saw Bai Tingfeng approaching, she thought salvation had arrived—a savior without Shen Yuan’s murderous intent. She might have bragged about being willing to die just to kill Shen Yuan, but in reality, she was no different from anyone else who feared death.
She would grasp at anything to survive.
"Save me—" She reached for Bai Tingfeng.
Unlucky for her...
"Ack!"
Bai Tingfeng had no intention of touching her. Instead, he struck her squarely on the forehead with his sheathed sword.
One blow was all it took. Her consciousness slipped away, and the momentum of her fall was interrupted. She continued falling, now slower than before, like a lifeless doll.
"Just land on the barrier and don’t die," Bai Tingfeng said coldly.
He glanced over his shoulder and watched as her body struck the outermost barrier.
Bai Tingfeng saw her move sluggishly, probably woken up by the pain her entire body was feeling now.
"At least she is alive..." Bai Tingfeng whispered, eyes devoid of emotion. He didn’t know what she did with his husband, but she must deserve whatever she feels now.
"Yuan!" Bai Tingfeng coated his sword with his aura and maneuvered it to fly. He used it as a ride to ascend further right, where Shen Yuan was.
Bai Tingfeng’s heart thundered when he saw Shen Yuan covered in white flames.
He refrained from touching him for fear that it would harm Shen Yuan.
"How were the rest of the kidnappers?" Shen Yuan suddenly spoke without opening his eyes. The Heavenly Foxfire is still roaring.
He successfully purified his mana, and now, he is busy clearing his bloodstream.
It is taking longer than he thought, as the poison managed to spread on his right arm.
"They are knocked down thoroughly. They are expected to wake up by tomorrow at the latest." Bai Tingfeng bit his lower lip. "Can you share what happened here?"
Shen Yuan opened his one eye. He is hesitant to spell out his mistake that stemmed from his arrogance, but in the end, after a sigh and grunt, he ultimately decided to expose his current predicament.
"I got caught by that woman’s awakened power... A poison."
"What?!" Bai Tingfeng’s eyes turned round with panic. "Is it b-bad? Let’s hurry down and have you checked at a hospital!"
Shen Yuan pressed his lips. "No. I am okay. The poison is..."
He extinguished the burning Heavenly Foxfire and then stretched his body as if he just woken up from a sleep. "Now gone. Gosh, that is the nastiest thing that I had to purify. I might have to kill that bitch for a second time."
Seeing that Shen Yuan still had the nerve to hurl threats, Bai Tingfeng finally believed that he was as fine as he claimed to be. "If that’s truly what you want, you can kill her later. The woman you sent into a death fall is still alive—twitching on the barrier our son put up."
"No way!" Shen Yuan immediately perked up. If only his tails were visible, they would surely be seen waving around with glee. "You saved me?!"
Bai Tingfeng nodded. "You never left my sight. I just did what I think is right based on the situation I saw."
Shen Yuan laughed a laugh that genuinely springs from the bottom of his heart.
"Ahhh... Times like these made me realize that I hit the jackpot when I decided to stay with you," The celestial fox spirit threw himself at Bai Tingfeng. "I swear. I can totally give you a blow job right now."
Bai Tingfeng’s face flushed. "Yuan! Do you even have a conscience for the pilots who would have aviation accidents because of your exhibition?" He looked away shyly and whispered. "You can do whatever you want later... in our bedroom."
Shen Yuan laughed carefreely. "This guy, you are so easy."
Then, without any warning, he did a free fall. "Let’s go back to our son before we do an outdoor show for the pilots."
Bai Tingfeng expressionlessly watched his husband skydive while speaking, "It is time to check on Edison Wen!"
