Master of Lust-Chapter 265 - - : Curiosity excited the Cat
Chapter - 265
"Sharon," Rick began, his voice gentle, almost pleading now. He kept his tone as sincere as possible, his eyes reflecting a mix of sadness and vulnerability. "I know this is a lot, and I wouldn't ask if it wasn't important…"
He took a step closer, making sure to keep his expression sombre, as if he was genuinely struggling with the next words. "I need a favour from you," he continued, hesitating for a second to give the appearance of doubt. "Of course, you can choose to deny me if you feel it's too much. I understand."
Sharon raised her eyebrows slightly, curiosity flickering across her face, but she remained silent, waiting for him to continue.
"I need you to keep this to yourself," Rick said, his voice lowering as though he didn't want anyone else to hear. "Please, don't tell anyone—not even my father. He… he still doesn't know the full details about the previous truck accident or Jed's involvement in all of this."
He looked down briefly, faking a pained expression before glancing back at Sharon. "My dad thinks this was just an accident, that Jed's death was a terrible, random tragedy. If he finds out that Jed—the man he loved—was actually trying to kill me, his own son…"
Rick paused, letting the weight of that possibility hang in the air. His voice cracked slightly as he continued, "I don't know what that would do to him, Sharon. He's already broken-hearted after losing Jed. If he learns the truth, that Jed died trying to kill me..., who knows what more he would suffer?"
Sharon's face softened further, and she nodded slowly, her own emotions visibly conflicted. She looked at Rick, the hard edge in her eyes from earlier now replaced with a hint of sympathy. After a brief moment of silence, she sighed.
"Okay," she said, her voice quiet, as though she was still processing everything. "I'll see what I can do."
Rick gave her a look of deep gratitude, nodding appreciatively. Inside, though, he was smiling. He had just pulled off a perfect manipulation, leaving Sharon with no doubts.
Sharon, still lost in thought after Rick's emotional confession, started to piece things together in her mind. Well, one mystery solved, she mused. It seems like the Warners aren't involved after all. But even though the situation with Jed now made sense, there was still something nagging at her. Rick's money. How did he fund the lifestyle he led? Sharon couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to uncover. As Rick stood there, she began thinking deeply.
"Post this accident Rick seemed vulnerable, with everything and his father in the hospital, if I played her cards right, I could get out information from Rick", Sharon thought. She realized that his car wasn't there, taken by the forensic to be examined for the moment. If I offer him a ride, and if he accepts, then maybe I can figure out something more."
"Well Rick, how is your father?", She asked with a concerned tone.
"Uh… He is fine. His injuries are minimal but he is unconscious due to shock. He will be out of here pretty soon.", Rick replied.
"And your car has been taken by the forensic, I suspect?", Sharon inquired.
"Yeah!", Rick replied as he guessed what Sharon was getting at.
"What about I drop you off on my Harley?" she suggested. "I mean you really had a long day. This is the least I could do for you", she continued with a smile on her face.
Rick paused, sensing her intention behind her offer, but he kept his expression neutral. "A ride home, huh?" He glanced at the Harley and then back at her.
[Well Master, what an amazing opportunity! Sitting so close on a bike with a sexy bombshell like Sharon! But how are you going to do it?]

Rick nodded, "Thanks for the offer, Sharon. I appreciate it."
He swung his leg over the Harley and settled behind her. The engine roared to life with a deep, satisfying rumble. As Sharon revved the throttle, Rick leaned closer, his body pressing lightly against hers. Sharon immediately tensed, letting out a light grunt of disapproval.
"Hey, keep some distance back there," she warned, glancing over her shoulder with an annoyed expression.
Rick raised his hands in mock surrender. "Sorry, sorry," he said with a smirk, scooting back a little to give her space.
As Sharon navigated her Harley onto the highway, the hum of the engine and the wind whipping past created a bubble of tense silence between them. She glanced sideways at Rick, her voice cutting through the noise, "So, we're heading to your apartment, right?"
Rick, expecting the question, gave a small shake of his head, a faint smirk forming on his lips. "Not exactly. After that whole mess with Zach, the place isn't in great shape yet. No point going there for now. I've been staying at my father's place."
"Your father's, huh?" she asked, sounding casual, though Rick could tell she already knew more than she let on. Of course, she did. She had set a GPS tracker on his car, thinking she was being discreet.
He didn't let on, playing along smoothly. "Yeah, I'll give you the address," he said, she nodded, pretending to take note, though Rick knew she could have easily pulled it up from her little trick.
As soon as he gave the address, Sharon gripped the handlebars tighter, as she brought on the throttle. The Harley roared louder, surging forward with a sudden burst of speed as they shot down the highway. Rick held on, letting the rush of speed distract from the subtle power play going on between them.
As they sped down the highway, Sharon, keen on getting Rick to open up, shifted her tone to something lighter, more conversational. "So, how long do you think it'll take for your apartment to be fully repaired?" she asked over the rumble of the engine, her voice a mix of curiosity and casualness.
Rick, watching the road ahead, shrugged slightly, his voice neutral. "Not sure yet. Could be a while."
Sharon hummed as if processing the information, then smoothly slipped into the next question. "Who else is at your father's place? Must be strange staying there, huh?"
Rick hesitated for a split second, caught off guard. "Uh, yeah, there's someone. A girl named Jemimah." He said it without thinking, and as soon as the words left his mouth, a realization hit him. He hadn't mentioned the accident, his father's condition, or the fact that his father was still unconscious in the hospital. His phone had died during all the chaos, and he hadn't been able to reach out to Jemimah or anyone else to update them on what had happened.
For a moment, he thought about asking Sharon for her phone, but quickly decided against it. They were only a few minutes away from his father's place, and it would probably be better to explain things in person. No need to complicate things now, especially not with Sharon being so interested in everything lately.
He kept his voice even as he replied, "Yeah, Jemimah's probably there now. My phone died, though, so I haven't been able to update her about what happened."
Sharon seemed to take it in stride, nodding slightly as they continued speeding down the highway. But Rick could feel her curiosity intensifying, even through her casual small talk. She was digging, and he knew it.

As the wind whipped past them and the roar of the Harley's engine filled the air, Rick leaned in slightly and decided to turn the conversation around. If Sharon was going to poke around in his life, maybe it was time to learn a little more about hers.
"What about you, Sharon?" he asked, casually. "Is anyone waiting for you back home? Where do you live, anyway—flat or house?"
Sharon laughed, the sound light but tinged with a hint of amusement. "Me? I live in a simple flat, Rick. Nothing like the luxury you've got going on. My job doesn't exactly pay for penthouses," she teased, clearly taking a little dig at him. "I share it with a friend of mine, Scarlet. She's a bit of a handful, but we make it work."
Rick raised an eyebrow at that, but Sharon continued without pausing. "As for my family, my mom's still out in the country. Rural life suits her, and she prefers the quiet. But it's just me in the city most of the time, with Scarlet."
Her tone was casual, but Rick couldn't help but pick up on how she subtly deflected. He wondered if there was more to it, but for now, he kept it light, letting her talk while he mentally filed away the details. After all, the more he knew about her, the more he could keep the balance in their little dance of secrets.
"Country life, huh?" Rick responded with a slight grin. "Sounds peaceful. Bet it's nice to get away from the city every now and then."
Sharon just smirked in response, keeping her eyes on the road as they sped along.
