Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 266: Her Broken Little Love [2]
[RANIA]
The rains in Incayon had grown so heavy by the time the misfits made it back home. It was cold as hell and everyone was indoors. It was hard to tell what was happening, and that could explain the calm in the pack.
When the misfits came back home, they found themselves in Rania’s room, given what Dalrae had suggested because that was the only place she was sure they would find Rani.
However, they were met with an empty room, one that had neither kik Rania nor any sign of life.
If anything it was like they had left it days ago.
"Where is she?" Dalrae asked worriedly as she took in the sight before her.
She didn’t even wait for answers because she was sniffing around for any signs of the werewolf alpha. It was easy to get to her but right now Dalrae was sniffing the air for her sister’s scent.
Rania’s scent was always so potent wherever she went and that was the only way for Dalrae.
"I’ll find Haru," Kaia said as he walked out too while Chang Wook stayed momentarily in the room, taking in the room that once meant everything to his sister.
So much was changing and he knew that they had to work on changing too but goddamn, it was quite a lot even for him. So dejectedly, the older Kim sibling went to look for his sister too.
However, when he stepped out of the room, he met one of the rogues that had been with their queen. He looked wet and like he didn’t have the strength to get a change of clothes.
Of course that was expected given they had just lost their best warrior, but even then, it didn’t make the pain hurt less. They had lost their best and it would take a lot of time for them to fill that void.
There was a good chance that the void would never be filled and Chang Wook knew it was possible too.
He had seen Paloma and Oshita, their interactions, and even the blind could tell that they were more like best friends than a queen and her enforcer. It was just a pity that Jeon Jungwoo had snatched that from her.
Oh, but it was too costly. There was a high chance that Rani would also have to make the toughest of all the decisions.
To go or not to go after Jeon Jungwoo.
"You’re here? What of Obren palace? Did you abandon the mission at the people’s palace?" Chang Wook asked.
The rogue warrior just sighed before giving the warrior healer a recollection of everything up until the moment they had reached Incayon and went to gather their thoughts in the assembly hall.
It wasn’t a peaceful thing for them and however tough the conditions in the war were, none could have prepared them for the pain that had followed instantly.
"Damn. Have you seen Rani?" Chang Wook asked and the warrior’s eyes widened at the question.
It was one that shouldn’t have been asked because the rogue warriors knew how dangerous a feral Rania was and with a loss hanging in the air, Kim Rania would be a stranger to many of them. It was too risky.
"What?" the warrior asked after a moment of silence. He hadn’t been expecting that but goddamn this had to be the craziest of all the things he had encountered too.
"She’s in the pack right now?" the rogue warrior asked.
Chang Wook just nodded defeatedly, before adding, "I need to find her before she meets Paloma."
"Well that’s going to be hard to do," the warrior said as he pointed at Rani and Paloma, the women who had been so broken by the loss of one of their own.
It was more than obvious that their smiles would never be the same and nothing they did would ever change the emotions they were feeling at the moment.
"I guess we should... Run?" the warrior asked and Chang Wook just got out of the way for the warriors because he knew he had to face these two sooner or later.
Chang Wook stood in the hallway, watching as the rogue queen, and his sister hastened their steps toward him. He knew this was stupid of him, just standing there and waiting for them, but there wasn’t a better alternative for him, really.
He had to make sure that they were alright, however angry they were and how bloodthirsty they had gotten. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
However, when they got to him, they just smiled at him sadly before they went to the guest room, leaving Chang Wook surprised unpleasantly.
So he followed them, because even he could tell that the two didn’t know where Oshita was. Maybe they hadn’t seen how bad the damage to the warrior had been because from the beginning.
"Where is he?" Paloma asked so softly you’d think that she had accepted the truth that was, already. It was far from what she could do, because Oshita was the bubble of sunshine that they all needed, even in war.
Oshita was loyalty and love, in one setting and it wasn’t a miracle that Rnaia loved him like a best friend.
She cared for him, and yet as they walked into the room and found a brother so lonely and defeated, they were certainly not ready for what was to come. At least that much was obvious from the fake smiles they are currently wearing.
However, Han who was in the room, with Kaia who didn’t seem the last bit pleased looked at the duo that had come, and boy they had so many silent wishes.
"Sister—" Han tried, as if to tell Paloma that the sight waiting for her wasn’t exactly the most pleasant of them all. However, the choice had been made and the decision stared right at the warlock.
Looking at his brother, Han hoped for the first time that his brother would be able to stop the two women from seeing what they wanted.
But then the price was already high enough as it was and if they delayed the inevitable even longer they would have to dance to a different tune of music; one that they didn’t seem ready for.
"Where’s Oshita, Han?" Paloma asked again, her tone growing softer and softer like she could already breathe the scent of her best firmed in the room. She knew and still wanted to face that horror.
Defeatedly, Han looked at the rogue queen and then the team of misfits who had all made it back home. They were a team, a good one though right now they were a team that had a man down, something that would forever haunt them. Or not.
"We’re fine, Han. Didn’t worry about us. Besides, it’s not like there is anything we can do to bring back our friend, right?" Rania said, making Han even more suspicious of what the two were planning.
It was bad enough that they all were too powerful and in the same team, but the to be Rania had used wasn’t comforting, at all.
"He’s here," Han said before he cast another spell in the room, that showed them how messy everything had gotten.
"Oh, goddess."
