Chapter 295: I’ll Be With You From Dusk Till Dawn

[RANIA]

"Wake up, we need to help with the arrangements. We are still having the birthday party celebration," Dalrae said as if to remind Rania that there was no way she was getting out of this.

Last night, when they had dispersed, Rania had decided to tell her friends about why she had wanted to leave. She didn’t leave anything untouched and she was very truthful with them, though they had quite different reactions.

They had been disappointed in her for wanting to leave even when they had been around her and they had to remind her that she was important to them, just like any other member of their team of misfits.

Unlike other days when the lecture would take forever, last night they had made it brief and just made sure Rania knew that she was never going to be facing anything and everything alone. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

They were family and they would forever keep their promises to each other, no matter what happened.

"I’m still sleepy," Rania said with a whine.

She hadn’t gotten a wink of sleep in the night because she had been worried that she would wake up and everything would be a lie. She wasn’t ready to live in a world where she had just been dreaming that one of her friends was her mate.

It would be embarrassing and she didn’t want to face that.

"It’s not a dream, Rani. Come on," Dalrae said with a soft nudge.

She had known Rania over the years and knew what could possibly be going on in her sister’s mind at the moment. It wasn’t something that she needed to think too much about because Kim Rania was always going to be Kim Rania.

It wasn’t anything out of the ordinary anyway, so there wasn’t shit about preparation and whatnot.

"But—"

"The only way to fix that is if you get up. I will give you an hour, and if you don’t wake up within the hour, I will haul your ass out of bed, and didn’t you even think of complaining," Dalrae said as she got off the bed. She thought her sister needed sleep.

And maybe that’s why she only came back five hours later, to find Kim Rania still sleeping.

Damn.

"Five freaking hours, woman, and you are still fucking sleeping? Lady, if you don’t wake up in three seconds, I will pour this bucket of cold water on you and trust me, sis, I do not bluff.

"And you know that too," Dalrae said as she looked at her sister who pulled the duvet over her and continued sleeping.

Rania had blacked the mindlinks earlier because she didn’t want to know what was happening, she wanted to be alone and yet at the same time, she made sure to leave the private mindlink she shared with Dalrae open.

Perhaps because she knew Dalrae would be worried sick about her. Her sister had done everything and anything possible on the face of the earth to make sure that Kim Rania was comfortable and didn’t get hurt.

Rania didn’t want to worry her even more.

Besides the last time they wore it at a birthday party, Dalrae had dug two graves, one for the mate that had rejected Rania and one for Park Jihoon.

It was like a default setting. Funny how both graces ended up with the markings of the Calindra alpha and Yanna Petrova. Probably because they were birds of a feather, no?

"Five more minutes,’’ Rania said at the same time that Dalrae spoke.

"Let it be known that for five hours and three seconds, I had chosen peace."

And with that, a loud scream was heard from the alpha’s bedroom, bringing their friends rushing in that direction while the Incayon wolves seemed to have gotten used to the madness that was the misfits.

The fact that there were two of them out there, reminded them that only these two would be crazy enough to do whatever the fuck they had been planning on doing, or what was taking place at the moment.

"We heard screams, what happened?"

"Please tell me you didn’t break each other’s noses."

"Well, this is a nice way to introduce a mate."

"Oshita should have been here to see this."

"Oh, this is golden. I wish I carried the phones that humans use."

"Do I even want to know?" Han asked finally as they stared at the sight before them.

It was crazy how they had gotten here and how everyone. He seemed to be the only one done with his friends acting like kids who had gotten their first crushes, but wasn’t that the situation right now?

"I came to wake her up and she refused," Dalrae said in defense as she threw aside the bucket that was in her hands, like that was a better explanation for what Rania looked like at the moment her sister looked like a car who had been standing in the rain for hours on end.

She was still lying on the bed, probably because she was choosing a way of making her sister pay for the cold bath that she didn’t consent to. Her duvet was still on her and she looked scary. But to Dalrae, that was a normal she didn’t give two shits about.

"You fucking poured cold water on me!" Rania defended as she tried to wipe her face, but it seemed like her thick long hair had held a lot of water that was still rolling down her face.

This was going to be interesting.

"I gave you five hours, and three fucking seconds to wake the fuck up. Five hours is more than enough for your sleeping woman. And wait, I gave a warning in advance," Dalrae defended and one by one her friends walked out of the room, seeing as the idea wasn’t as bad.

"Hold on, where are you guys going?" Dalrae asked when she saw them leave. Hell, even he who always had something to say seemed so done and was leaving too.

"We are going to prepare for the birthday. And make sure you both show up looking pretty," Paloma said and Dalrae facepalmed.

They were leaving her with Rania here? This woman would probably kill her, but would she even be surprised if that happened right now? So she tried to walk out the door, but Paloma smiled evilly as she locked the door, leaving Raniaa and Dalrae in the same room.

Someone was officially in trouble.

"Rani wait, I can explain," Dalrae began but her sister just stared at her like the little devil had been caught.

This was going to be a long ten minutes for them anyway.

They went running around the room for a few more minutes before they figured they would be in trouble with their friends if they didn’t show up sooner.

The birthday may have been for Rania and there may have been a bond that they didn’t know how to navigate, but even then, their friendship was more supreme than everything in between.

"Let’s do this, yeah?" Rania said once they had dressed up for the birthday party.

Hopefully, there won’t be any more chaos, right?

"Yeah, let’s go party till our legs wobble!" dalrae cheered as they walked out of Rani’s bedroom, only to find their friends standing at the door, looking like they were royalty.

What the hell?
