Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 351: The Easy Way Was Sometimes The Hardest
[RANIA]
"I know, and I don’t blame any of us. We were all trying to make it easier for her and I’m sure we did. The battle could have lasted years on end, and we reduced it to a one-day battle.
"I know that had a lot of effect on us, and I appreciate that we made it through the first phase successfully. But that is also the reason I want to take Rania out of Incayon," Kaia said, making them look at him like he had lost his mind.
Oh, but he sure did because what the hell was he thinking?
"What??" the misfits collectively asked as they couldn’t find themselves easily processing what Kaia had just said. Taking Rania out of Incayon when they were still at war was dangerous.
Everyone needed her to be there for them. They had done so much that they wanted to make sure that none of this went to waste and what he was suggesting was strange as fuck. Where the fuck did he even get the idea?
"It’s the only way. You all can say that it was because her Lycan was acting up because of the war and shit, but we know that right now we need to be able to be truthful. She has been through shit.
"She has moved mountains and done the impossible and her Lycan has already shown up. She is tired and we can either pretend like she doesn’t need to rest or give her the rest she needs.
"You know I’m right," Kaia said and the misfits looked at each other softly.
Of course, Kaia was right.
They all wanted the best for Kim Rania but goddamn. The thought of them having to be here and talk about this was a reminder of how much they had failed as the people who were supposed to protect her.
"No. My sister is not leaving," Dalrae said with a tone of finality, making them look at her like she had gone bonkers. But then Dalrae was dead serious.
She had seen everything with Ranai and she was determined to make sure that her sister was safe and got whatever the fuck she needed. But Rania wasn’t going to be leaving her sight.
"What do you mean no?" Kaia asked, clearly serious. His tone was general like they were having a conversation. The topic of discussion was tricky and as it was, they had to go through this together because if they were divided then there would be even more chaos.
"Rani is not leaving Incayon, no matter what happens out there or within," Dalrae said and they looked at her like she needed to explain more.
They all knew Dalrae and they knew she didn’t just pop up with solutions or objections just for the sake of it all. She was always a strategist just like her sister and hell be damned, she wasn’t going to let Rania leave home again.
They had fought tooth and nail to have hair on this side of the realm. They had done the impossible to make sure the Incayon people trusted her.
They had moved mountains and done shit that people would consider downright crazy, for her, and so they weren’t just going to close shop and act like they hadn’t just down the impulse to make sure Rania was okay.
Shit never worked that way and they needed to face that reality.
"Dalrae–"
"No, Paloma. Think of everything she has done just to make Incayon a home for everyone. She has saved us more than we can ever admit. She has fought our battles shamelessly, throwing herself in the face of danger because she was protecting us.
"She did what we didn’t even do for her over and over. She chose us not once, not twice, but always. She fought to keep us safe and sane. She was called names because she was protecting us, the people she loved and loves.
"Sure, did everything humanly possible. Hell, she even bargained with the goddess to stop Odelia’s transition into a troll because she wanted her friends to lead a normal life.
"Now when we have a chance to do the same for her, when we have the chance to prove to her that what she did w3\as actually worth it, when we have the chance to prove to her that we appreciate every little thing she did for us, we send her away?
"In what world does that make sense?" Dalrae asked, her tone rising a little but not enough to make everyone there seem like the devil.
They had all rallied for Rania and would fight her battles forever if they had to. That much was a given so they weren’t going to pretend like there weren’t things that they had done for years.
They would do this, for Rania.
They would make sure that life was livable for the girl who had her whole life ahead of her.
Mate bond or not, they had to accept the fact that she needed them more than ever at the moment.
Rania was experiencing new things.
She was feeling a lot of things and she was transitioning fast. They had to be ready for her because if they weren’t then it wouldn’t be as hard for them to disappoint her. And that was the one thing that they all didn’t do.
They wished to love her and prevent her from everything including herself. That much was obvious, given their intentions are pure.
"But she needs a break--"
"And a break she will get. We are all powerful beings even on our own. You can’t tell me that suddenly we can’t even stand up for Rania when she needs us the most. We’re powerful enough to create a whole realm if we want to.
"Which is why instead of Rania leaving, we will send the prisoners into limbo, until Rania is ready to face everything and is strong enough. I won’t accept anything else other than that. I know it is all family and a team.
"But if push comes to shove, I alone have the power to decide what happens to my sister. I hope we don’t get to the point where we rub shoulders. Because I love this family too much to see us go in different directions while we try to protect the woman we all love," Dalrae said softly and heartily.
She wouldn’t hesitate to go to war for Rania and she knew the people he wouldn’t hesitate to. She was just making sure they knew she would fight them for Rania even though she was hoping never to do that.
"Oh, Dalrae," Chang Wook sighed as he looked at his determined mate. It was obvious she had been living with Rania for too long but what made it even more attractive was the kind of loyalty she had for her best friend and sister.
Perhaps this was what they all desired in life.
"Hiro, Lim Lim is right. We can’t keep avoiding everything just because of eight bastards. We can send them to limbo and train Rani to be a fully-fledged Lycan warrior. After that, we can bring them back for her to give them the punishment she sees fit.
"Besides, where suffering is owed, death is never going to be the payment for it. Rani suffered in their hands. Killing them or even Rania leaving will be too good a mercy for them. We can put an end to this and deal with everything later on," Han Seong said and Kaia let out a sigh.
